Top New Stories: Hard Rock Icon Colin "Cozy" Powell dies.

Drummer Colin "Cozy" Powell was killed in an automobile accident April 5. Cozy is known for his work with Dio, Whitesnake, Yngwie Malmsteen, among others.

Powell was driving alone in his Saab 9000 on M4 moterway near Bristol England,  when he appeared to have lost control of his vehicle. He was rushed to the hospital, later dying from the injuries he incurred.

Cozy began his three decade long career in the 1960's as the drummer of  the Ace Kefford Stand. He later went onto play with almost every big name in Hard rock and Heavy Metal.  including Black Sabbath,  Rainbow, Cinderella, Richey Blackmore Whitesnake, M.S.G. His diverse talent lead him to playing with the likes of Donovan, Jeff Beck, Gary Moore, Robert Plant and Brian May of Queen.

Powell was a great talent and will surely be missed by his fans, and the music community as a whole.
