Just What makes a band the Best of the New Breed?.... (forward by Debbie Seagle)

Today's newest crop of successful musicians are smart, sexy, creative, hard working and talented people who are riding into town ready to rock your world.  What does it take to get to the top of the heap, or anywhere in the heap, for that matter?  Its not like in the old studio days of Hollywood where you could get discovered sipping a cherry-coke at a soda fountain.  Big limousines don’t just drive up and snatch you out of the garage.  As Rock N World and antiMUSIC investigate the new music scene and choose a handful to introduce you to that we’ll call "Best of the New Breed," you will see that each band has a special story to tell of how they made it to your attention.  We found a special quality in each of them that set them apart from the garage crowd and brought them to the attention of record labels and the record buying public.  We can make a blanket statement that all the showcased bands were chosen for their musical ability first, then we took a closer look.  We went behind the scenes, on the tour buses and in the arenas and talked with these bands to give you a glimpse into the life of a rocker and the clues to how and why they are making their rock & roll dreams come true.
