Sevendust - Chapter VII: Hope and Sorrow Review

by Dave Jordan

.
Honestly, I didn't like this record that much. The songs seemed somewhat repetitive amongst themselves, even compared to what Sevendust has done in the past.

Beyond this, the record does not seem to try anything new and daring, which seems like a thing a band that has been around as long as Sevendust should do. I suppose any fan of the band in the past would be somewhat satisfied, but as a dedicated metal/hardcore fan, this album only reminds me of why I stopped listening to the radio in the first place. So I figure perhaps it is high time Sevendust mix it up, and do something different with their music, which they failed to do on the new album. Better luck next time?

For Fans of: Disturbed, Mudvayne, Korn
