Clit Ripper - Locked Away For Nothing Review

by Matt Hensch

.
Enjoy Grind? If so, you've come to the right place. Oregon native grinders Clit Ripper play an aggressive style of grind with just a touch of punk that's brutal, yet oddly addictive. Clit Ripper have just released their new EP titled "Locked Away For Nothing," and it's a strong one. This EP is eleven minutes of face-pounding, hammer-smashing grind that left me begging for more!

Every song on "Locked Away For Nothing" is just a straight burst of energy that usually lasts for under a minute; the only exception is "I F**k Your Gore," which is around-two and-a-half minutes. The guitars always deliver a rapid fire riff that leaves little breathing room for the listener. Every song begins with it's own distinct riff which is then accompanied by Gory Jory's screaming vocals. Gory Jory's vocals fit Clit Ripper's music very well. His screams are hard to understand, but they make the music seem much more aggressive. Typical grind bands have very little amounts of solos, or even none at all, but Clit Ripper is different. Just about every song contains at least one full solo. The main stand out from this aspect is "I F**k Your Gore." This song is filled with catchy leads and then a monster one at the end.

I like this EP. It isn't a ground breaking masterpiece, but it is a good way to kick start Clit Ripper's career. If you're into grind, I highly suggest you try to find "Locked Away For Nothing."
