Burning Skies - Desolation Review

by Mike Rapin

.
How's for a fist full of brutal distortion in your mouth? Burning Skies' Desolation is exactly that. And don't forget my usual label: dethcore. I'll say that I haven't heard anything this harmoniously written with such an extreme side in a real long time.

The album jumps from bloodthirsty song to bloodthirsty song with no stop. I was actually impressed with the amount of growl and scream vocalist Merv could really blast from the pits of his stomach. And, of course, I can't get sick of the true upbeat-ness of the entire album... and the kick-ass-ness of the breakdowns.

I'll finish up with a fuck yea to Burning Skies for doing what any real deathcore fan loves: being heavy and fucking hardcore. In all honesty, I can't say anything else. I'd hand this to anyone who is a serious fan of All Shall Perish and the lot.

Track Listing:
1. Intro
2. RKD
3. The Sweet Sound Of Violence
4. Bauer Power
5. Desolation... (For The Denial Of Ignorance)
6. Damaged
7. Fairlytale Supremacy
8. Caught In The Cirlce
9. Lurid Demolition
10. Could You Sink Any Lower?
