I Am Gambit
with Mike Rapin

When the rantings and ravings of Mike Rapin fill up among his small group of listeners, he turns to the digital pen and paper. Expect nothing less than irrational cries about meaningless anythings and possibly a logical idea here or there, but nonetheless hilarious (for those with a real sense of humor).

If you are under 18 or are easily offended, stop reading now!

Metalocalypse

I f**king hate writing. Not like writing for this column or for something actually interesting, but for school (college). I f**king hate it.

But that is beside the point.

I want to come out here, right and now, and say that Metalocalypse makes me love metal so much more. Adult Swim's show pretty much kicks the ass of anything else I can think of. Sure, you can come to me and say "Mike, you're a f**king moron" and I won't even care. The show is utterly hilarious and I will not waiver from those words.

I know this is plain promotion for the show, but I really would like to show my love for it.

The show focuses around a band called Dethklok--a globally loved band whose actions mainly determine how things occur in the world. One word: in-f**king-credible.

Each episode takes a small aspect of any major metal band and plays hilarious antics on it. I love every minute of each episode solely because the setup is repeated in each episode but the plot is always new and unbelievably funny (for any real metal fan that is). On top of all of the amazing story and such, you have actual music--and good music at that.

I seriously have to give it up to Adult Swim for assembling such an amazing team of musicians to create music for this show. I listen to the available MP3s on the adult swim website near daily and am amazed at the talent (I have attempted learning and it's damn hard).

So here's to Adult Swim for giving some awesome-ness to metal. Cheers.

PS. I'm kind of pissed that Dillinger Escape Plan isn't in the Metal Archives...
