Oh and screw rereading this thread to pick-up...it's totally where we left it off! 12 Nov. 05

Posted by Lucy:
Damn, Mookie, it must be melencholy or something. Five years lator I check this site and wonder where you and Met7 are! Found you! Merry Christmas.

Posted by alf:
great band! I΄m searching an album that i saw in a bar that shows some videos of de band permorming music of several artist like cindy lauper and more. I wanto to buy it but i don΄t know if it exist or not. Can you help me about this?

Posted by God29/Rock On/Zoinks:
I thought I'd just check in years-years after I used to come on here-and see if the same people are still bashing Creed. Wow how sad to see the same losers stiiiilllllll whining about how Creed "sucks". Man wake up-they dispanded get over it. Music is timeless people. Creeds music will simply always rock. You losers will always be losers. Sad muppets to say the least.

Posted by non:
have you ever heard "is this the end"?

Posted by Lydia:
Creed is awesome! There best songs are "Pity for a Dime", "What's This Life For" and "My Own Prison". Their old stuff is the best!

Posted by non:
i read some interviews from fellow band members of creed and all they did was complain about scott stapp while at the same time saying they split up for no real reason and that it wasn't anyone's fault. aparently, stappster was "on the cell phone all the time," and "just wasn't into the music." he is "for the money." fuuking wanker, he wants to do movies now. what kind of moron would give up their passion for fame? oh, lots of people would. great world we live in isn't it.

Posted by non:
no seriously, i do.

Posted by non:
i hate you mookie.

Posted by Mookie Blaylock:
Well, its been ages since I've been around these parts but its nice to see some of the old faces are still around (Dragonia and non). The sun is shining on this lovely Friday afternoon and just when I thought my day couldn't get any better, I find out that Creed are breaking up. So I thought I'd drop by and express my joy that the worst band to ever create christian music thinly veiled under 80s hair rock is no more. No longer will any of us have to witness Scott Stapp pretend to be Jesus Christ and Eddie Vedder at the same time. No more will we have to suffer through endless videos where the wind blows whistfully through Stapp's flowing locks while he clenches his fists in a feeble attempt at real angst. We're free, finally, we are free.

Posted by Creed Girl:
Creed is the most energetic and amazing live band there is out there today. I love all the other bands too, but CREED is amazing and i adore them greatly!

Posted by non:
oh my god, kelly, i need you to really think about whether your life is really worth it or not. i'm serious, those are creed's worse songs, jesus, they are so boring, do you really consider yourself to be part of the masses, break free, please, seriously, i am crying for you right now. have you actually listened to any of their real songs. the songs you like are all radio songs. do you know that in order for bands to be played on the radio, they need to be catchy, they need to be mellow, no yelling, no emotion, no soul. these songs are so hollow and lifeless. they are simply there to be non-offensive to everyone, well that is everyone except music lovers. bands do not get played on the radio usless they have a whole bunch of boring songs to choose from.

Posted by Kelly:
I think Creed rule! I love they're songs which have amazing meaningful lyrics. I've always thought that they would have been great in the game Final Fantasy X because the words go well with the storyline. My favourite songs would have to be "One Last Breath", "My Sacrafise", "With Arms Wide Open", "Hide", "Don't Stop Dancing" and "Stand Here With Me"

holy crapp, it my old friend dragonia, i thought for sure you had been sucked up into a jet engine or something. hell yeah i missed you. how is the art coming?

Posted by Dragonia:
Non gay! Did you miss me?? *licks* Pearl Jam vs Creed again? Man, that is one old argument.

Posted by Mookie Blaylock:
I agree with you Synergy, Creed is truly outreageous, truly truly truly outreageous. I just hope they can outwit those nasty Misfits.

Posted by Synergy:
I think that Creed's music is awesome, and they can take me higher anytime!

Posted by tarotangel:
i love them.

by the way, it's just you and me now and look who's more excited...

wow you even copy yourself. have fun with that. don't worry though, your life is worthwhile, isn't it?

Posted by non:
Fingers twitching, eyes are open, mouth is speaking silent words as they diligently are typing! Hello hello hello is there anybody out there. Just nod if you think I'm interesting, is there anyone at home? Come ONNNN, it's the NOn show. I rock, I rule! I suck!

Posted by non:
or better yet, let this crackhead keep posting under my name and it will become the non show. what a goob. But anyhoo, it is I who am looked at and taunted as the mildly retarted mcdonald fry cook and if I want to answer my own post in .003 seconds that is my right and priviledge. I keep good company with myself while you are all gone.

Posted by non gay:
tell you what, for my last trick i will ask you all to look closely at the post by me 7 down on this page, then, while your eyes stay connected to the screen, let them gently fall to the post 4 down, written by a lonely, unhappy copy of me, which is better, well i will leave you to judge.

Posted by non:
and another thing from the real macoy, I just spent a full two minutes the other day explaining how great i am, how can you then make fun of me for it. I was already making fun of myself. are you just retarded enough to have read that post and then rearanged the words and reposted it? i bet you are, do people pat you on the head and tell you that you are cute whenever you open your mouth? seriously though, how many times have you been called a moron? i bet you it is a few times a day and that is why you need to lash out at people who seem better than you. i can just see you now, getting mad at yourself for not being able to come up with anything better than what you posted, must be a rough life, knowing you're inferior. go ahead and challenge me on any topic. i will seem to be some sort of god and you will recognize yourself, just as everyone around you does, as a mildly retarded mcdonalds employee who tries to step up to the skills of everyone that the whole world perceives is better. I am just counting all the people now... it turns out that even unborn children are more prized by society than you. also, the elderly, social workers, drug dealers, and of course your momma, who just sat up in my bed and jumped on my cack, man that bytch is hungry! about six billion in total, where does that leave you? oh yah, that's right, right where you have always been. ha

Posted by non gay, the real molester:
it's all true, i had to try so hard not to respond .003 seconds after this person faked my non action. i don't know who you are, but you are not interesting enough to engage in dialogue. if anything you say were actually true, then maybe, but you actually said that i don't come up with anything origional... ha, ha, and yet you repeated the same insult to me in two different messages. you smart enough to figure out what that means about you.

My computer must be too fast. Mom's got this DSL sheit and it just goes whhhuurrrl and it downloads sheit so fast and I know you guys are out there. okay, okay, I'LL GO TO BED AND CHECK BEFORE SCHOOL! And you guys feel free to talk to me. Okay, I'm going to bed but I will check in five minutes. Really, it's okay that your computor is slow. I'm right here waiting to answer you. I'm right here, waiting. I can wait all night if you want me too. I'll be the first one to answer you GAY-RON-DAMN-TEED! So go on and answer! Really.

Posted by non:
That was a stupid comment. Sorry. but I am that stupid and we all know that I crave lots of attention. My life is non (he he) non-eggsistant without without shock value. Please someone acknowelege me and tell me how great I am. I am really great, I am, I am! I have nothing new or intelligent to say, but I want someone to comment on my lonely existance and explain why I sit here day and night checking to see if someone has replied to my comments. Okay, so if you can't tell me how great I am, tell me what an idiot I am. I NEED to hear what an idiot I am. Will someone please just talk to me? Come on, please just talk to me. Where is everyone. I sit here day and night waiting, watching for someone to talk to me. I go on incessantly spewing comments just to get a rise out of you guys and you leave me desolate. I NEED ATTENTION! I'm, I'm, I'm losing my sanity trying to get a rise out of you, out of anyone. I'm eating out of peanut butter jars and faking my voice while I type. I assure you that I will reply within 10 seconds if you acknowelege me. No, no, make that 5 seconds. Where are you guys? We're a team damn it! We can't miss a meeting! Come on, Met7Ez, eL, Loosey, Mookie Bleckloss. If you won't talk to me it will be the non show and I will hold conversations with myself until the year non existant. Did you get that? "NON" existant! I rule, I rock, I AM the THE. please talk to me. Anyone! I will answer you. Okay, so I will end this so that someone else can comment. I know I can't tell if your talking if I'm typing. Okay, okay, so let's get this party started. New topic. I'll give you thirty seconds to start it and then I'm gonna come back on here and comment. Challenge stage. Go! Really, comment now because my hands are shaking. So go! Oh, I've got to enter to see if you are talking. So this is me entering add my comments.

What the hell happened to everyone, let's talk about how great I am... I know, I know, you have too much information to condense down to one posting but I assure you that you are allowed to post more than once. Twice you start thinking about me; the parade of pink, balloon covered intelligence, the ingenious turtle-necked innocence of my last floats dazzling display of flying trash talk, wound up in cords of wisdom and humorous envy, your wrists beg for my sharpness wound tight in longing for the known who once escaped you. The band at the front not quite able to concentrate, for they feel me near, they long to kiss the inside bit of my left knee and beg for more than a small portion of my lunch. They would excommunicate their mothers if only for a soft touch from my kitty kat. But, enough of the musicians, for who can account for their taste, rather we shall speak of the beauty queens who lay down each others lives to satisfy my insatiable desire for pink flamingo dancers from Ireland. Those flashy waistcoats betraying the unequalled eloquence of their knobby knees held together out of love for my inwardly bound tomfoolery. Adieu, I use this silent auction as a salute to all of you who see through the turmoil of childhood which always extents well past old age. And again I spit, who can dispose of me, who can replace me in my unanswerable eloquence, my refined edges so full of flaws that my accountant hired a consultant on feminine hygiene. Those deadly dealers of larceny who deal daily with the nonsense of philosophers proving their reason by the bare reason that they believe nothing at all. It gets them through those sunny days when they most feel unwanted, in that coming wave of unsure defense, when time bombs are all we have, for we lash out as our only resort. Perhaps the time for admittance is upon us and we still think that the other should start first. Well then, die, for you and the rest are extinct to the dismal few who know of your kind, and who allow you a sweeping entrance into well-spoken circles, of fire and of faith, of circles that lead to unspoken hearts, of rays that float into unrefined ornaments whose only repentance is their unfavorable demeanor. chow ladies, mook you are the best in showbiz.

Posted by non:
my god, creed must be going out of style, not even the regular's are interested enough to stick around and try to step up to their number 5676 fan. That's right, i love creed that much.

Posted by Mookie Blaylock:
So sorry iD, that all the arguments put forth in support of Pearl Jam didn't reach the intellectual caliber of the well-researched thesis you've presented below. We're all especially impressed with your use of "fags" and "blows". How's this? "Its not the band I hate, its their fans" (Chris Murphy, Sloan from Coax Me)

Posted by iD:
I have never heard a decent argument against creed yet. Keep trying, fags. Maybe one day you'll have a good one. Pearl Jam blows. Why? Because they don't rock. Maybe a few songs do, but thats it.

Posted by Mookie Blaylock:
L, if you're still out there, I have another suggestion for you: Ron Sexsmith. Not sure if I mentioned him before but man, his latest, Cobblestone Runway, fantastic (try not to hold the Coldplay duet against him, I don't because personally, I enjoy Chris Martin, but I know they turn some stomachs). He's hard to describe vocally, dare I mention the name Aaron Neville? Trust me on this one. Oh and if you haven't gotten the Matt Mays CD, hurry the ƒuck up. I saw him last weekend (he opened for Sam Robert's and kicked that bastard's ass east coast style) and he seems to keep getting better and better.

Posted by Mookie Blaylock:
Met 7 can you hear us? Speaking of, a friend of mine grew a goatee, I commented that it was very "James Hetfield", now he won't speak to me, go figure. So non, a book eh? Well, I'll play the part you want me to if you'll be the ADHD guy who thinks studio bands with southern jesus-freak lead singers who love the vinyl pants/wife beater look are talented. In the book, you could do cool things like wear your ball cap backwards and hang the american flag in the back window of your pickup.

Posted by non :
mook, i am working on my new book and you are going to be the angry pearl jam fan who can't get over the fact that her band was only good for a year back in the 90's. you might do cool stuff like eat cookies and yell at people in wheelchairs too.

Posted by non:
ahh, i once again bask in my own glory, by the way i am sticking with non, for it sounds riskee, devonaire, and also like other words which i do not know how to spell but which are misterious and intriguing as befitting a name such as NON! lets talk about how much we miss that dude who liked metallica

Posted by Mookie Blaylock :
Good to have you back L, and good to hear someone's doing something about the whole "President" Bush unpleasentness. non, as insulting as you've been to Pearl Jam, Nirvana, me personally, and Kurt Cobain (RIP), I have to commend the "both are dead, one is still putting out records" comment. Creative, funny, sarcastic, and witty. Completely untrue but nicely done. See? We can all disagree completely and still be friends, right....you ƒuckwad.

Posted by L:
Hi, Mookie, it's been awhile..I commend you for your staying power! Sorry I've been away for so long, but I have been working diligently as a volunteer for Howard Dean's campaign for presidency, and also as a member of Moveon.org to assist in bringing to light the mispresentation, bullying, and outright lying of our current Chimp in Chief, George W. Bush, and his Banana Republic administration. By the way, "Creed has had three good albums"...bbbtt ha ha hahaa! Did you see the skit on Comedy Central on the Daily Show with Jon Stewart entitled "Creed is Not Good" by Corddry? A video clip was sent to me by email by a member of Citizens Against Creed, but I can't figure out how to open it. Anyway, I heard it was hilarious!

Posted by non gay:
useless drivel, you better copy and paste everything i have ever written on here onto your computer, if you don't you will never ever, ever be happy! I don't listen to the radio for exactly the reason you have described, so that I don't have to worry about it being overplayed. radio play has no baring on the quality of the song, only the song can prove its worth to me, if i don't like it then i bring it out at 6am to the dumpster round the side of the house, and don't worry I will lift the cardboard flap as I drop it off and say hello to you mook, (can i call you mook? i think i will anyways) you are so cute in there with your little radio charged by triple a batteries, your only art... a picture of kurt kobane, mook, i think you got nirvana confused with pearl jam, to tell the difference you just have to realize that they are both dead but one is still putting out records. he, he!

Posted by Mookie Blaylock :
Whether you only listen to a band because its played constantly on the radio or drop it cold as soon as it gets any recognition, its still falling into the hands of hte media. I can admit when I like something mainstream just as easily as I can throw my devotion behind the most obscure bands. I tend to just like what I like. Blind Guardian? Iced Earth Opeth? Please tell me you made these names up. Talk about funniest thing I've ever heard. But serisously, non (can I call you non?), I still love you too, at least you're here, arguing, talking, actually saying something, even if that something is generally useless drivel.

Posted by non gay:
i'm sorry... you think that pearl jams cd's are not mainstream! everything you listen to is mainstream! guaranfukking teed. i listen to blind guardian, iced earth opeth, and a whole bunch of other bands who refuse to be played on the radio. more than I can say for you there mookie. by the way, creed's first album was hardly ever played on the radio, they let themselves become mainstream, just like pearl jam, except that even mainstream people hate pearl jam's latest albums, cause they suck, just like live's new cd's, they are aweful. by the way, I hate jeremy and not cause i have heard it too many times, just cause it isn't very good. i only listen to bands until they turn radio then i stop cold, like a frog jumping through a stream of liquid nitrogren. peace out and stop using insults that don't fit. I still love you though mookie and i love the sarcasm. did you actually say to me that I don't think for myself? that is the funniest thing I have ever heard, try again.

Posted by Mookie Blaylock:
Looks like we're back to the old Creed vs. Pearl Jam argument. The Pearl Jam fans like to use music quality, staying power, and diversity as criteria in their arguments. The Creed fans prefer to use record sales.

Posted by Mookie Blaylock:
HA HA HA HA HA HA HA, you're funny non-gay. That was a good one, thanks. I assume you speak of "Ten" when you say "one good cd". Of course you mean "Ten", I don't even know why I asked that. All mainstream, closed-minded, Nickleback-loving, Creed praising, God-fearing folk only know "Ten". Then, when the local radio station and MTV stopped playing "Jeremy" in constant rotation against "Smells Like Teen Spirit" (RIP Kurt Cobain), you gave up on the whole scene. 'Cause like the rest, if it isn't being force-fed down your throat through a straw of record company-financed media frenzy and fancy flashing lights, then you just don't want any part of it. And know what? I don't blame you, loving what MTV tells you to love is way easier than thinking for yourself.

Posted by non gay:
wow, the best band in history has only put out one good cd and is successfully doomed to never repeat its quality and success. creed has three good albums, pearl jam only has age.

Posted by Mookie Blaylock:
Creed fans often drop by to spew the virtues of seeing the band play live (Scott Stapp's so dreamy, etc.). Well, last Saturday, at approximately 9pm, I had the pleasure and good fortune of taking in Pearl Jam, live in concert at the Molson Amphitheatre (yes, almost all our concert venues are named after beer) in Toronto. The resevoir within that holds the knowledge that Pearl Jam are indeed the best band to ever exist has been sufficiently refilled, overflowed even. So go ahead, try to tell me Creed's better, I'm completely mentally prepared to laugh hysterically in your face.

Posted by Lucy:
Oh hush Mookie! So you have a sex life!...LOL. When DID Lucy get soft...hmmmm...possibly when she started teaching and realized how crappy the under-dog kids are treated by parents and teachers alike. But this is summer...give me something to attack! I'll take "Boy bands for $1000 Alex!" That is Back Door Boys, Nstink and Greed who's 15 minutes are up, Alex. "Boy bands for $800." Who is, Justin Wimperfake who went Michael Jackson first! Boy Bands for $600..whhoooeee, daily double!" I know, I know...What is...ummm, ummm, girls hit 15 and were too old for Boy meets world!" Okay, okay...'Where are they now for $100, Alex." Duh nuh nuh nah duh nuh nah...Sorry...I don't know. Ewww, the answer WAS where are they now!

Posted by Lucy:
Whew!!! I was waiting for that reply. Thanks for understanding. I, too, believe in sex-ed. However we differ on being open on that one. But I have seen kids raised both ways and in the end I guess it comes down to the individual and who THEY chose to be, right? Honestly, I have known some bohemian parents who frequent nudist resorts who have kids who are total opposites...which actually most kids are opposites from their parents. I guess it's the view that no one wants to BE their parents. Of course, I would be like my Daddy in a heart beat. This coming from an adult who didn't want to as a teen. Oh, and way to go on the "sticking it to me." I'm really not THAT confident in my body. What I was trying to say, in my drunkin ramble, was that I do work out hard and I 'could' if I chose to...not that everyone would be that impressed. But you know what an ounce of courage in the form of tequela will do to you!

Posted by Mookie Blaylock:
Hey Lucy, I had my suspicions that you were rip-roaring drunk during that one (given the Memorial Day weekend and all), but I thought I'd stick it to you anyway. I understand your desire to protect your children, believe me. I have two nieces to whom I am completely devoted. Sometimes they ask me these questions and all I want to do is tell them to wait until they're older to be curious. But sadly, telling kids that often causes them to make ill-informed decisions. It can also cause kids to think sex is dirty, that its something that should be hidden, something to be embarrased about. The result is more and more adults with serious sexual hang-ups. Again, I'm not saying "orgies for everyone", just that not only are kids not nearly as 'innocent' as we think, but underestimating their curiosity and intellingence can get us all into heaps of trouble later on.

Posted by Lucy:
...and yes, alot of it comes from single parent frustrations. Perhaps I need to put the breathalizer back on the computor when the kids are away.

Posted by Lucy:
Oops, naw, it didn't stir up too much Mookie..it was a major margarita day yesterday. Wow, I did sound kinda full of myself. Sorry. What I meant to say, (Ahem, without the rambling and shameless Go Me..lmao at myself) was that I like that my kids are not given the opportunity to view things that would make them grow up too quickly. And there is a reason why sex education is taught in middle school and not grade school (and even that is minor)...they are not mentally prepared for it at young ages and it is perverted to allow them to see it. Sorry if I offended you Mookie, I am just glad that I was raised as I was and that some things are kept under cover. I will go sit in the corner now for being so full of myself.

Posted by Mookie Blaylock:
Wow! Didn't mean to stir the pot...okay, okay, you know me, I did mean it. Lucy, I barely understood most of your rant as it appeared to be a mixed up combination of desperate single-parent frustrations and obvious personal ego stroking (I could walk down any beach in a thong or go topless...Go Me). I did want to say its pretty insulting for you to make the assumption that people who watch porn are using it as a subtitute for sex, in fact my experience has been that people who enjoy adult films tend to be very sexually active. I do agree with you that these films are not for children. But they can be rewarding and enjoyable for adults and when I say mainstream tv, I don't mean that there's a little soft core on at 10am right after Sesame Street. I just mean that after 9pm on some Quebec stations, adults can enjoy some artfully made films, beautiful in fact. I intend to educate my children about sex openly, freely and honestly. I won't leave them to "sneak a peek" when they become overly inquisitive. My experience with children and having been a child once myself is that kids are born inquisitive. I remember distinctly asking my kindergarten classmates what they knew about how babies were made. Its ridiculous thinking kids are non-sexual and that we should treat them as such until they're 18 or caught sneaking it. I'm not saying lets whip out the porn as a lesson in sexuality, I am saying there's nothing wrong with adults enjoying porn. And not only is there nothing wrong with kids being sexually curious, its necessary to inform them and talk to them openly about it. And Lucy, please don't reply with a bunch of "you don't have kids so you don't know" remarks. Being fertile, female and heterosexual does not necessarily make you an expert on rearing children. There, that should stir things up sufficiently.

Posted by Lucy:
Free porn on mainstream t.v! No thanks, I just canceled my HBO for that perversity. Don't need it, not interested. I get mine at home where t.v. is not foreplay. Two shouts out to those imaginative Americans who don't need props or "how to do it" reality shows. We'll stick with our soft-porn-put-the-kids-to-bed-because-they-MIGHT-show...OMIGOD...a shoulder! I like that America doesn't imbibe in the "art" that is so free in Canada. I want my kids to be kids until their minds are so inquisitive that they have to sneak to see it. I personally don't want to come home from a long day at work and see tits and ass on t.v. Being in top shape and loving my life right now...I am not thrilled at the thought of topless women in the open. I, personally would never presume it to be less than a sexual act, but that is because nudity, to me, is an exclusive right to a certain person. After having two children and putting countless hours into fitness...I could be the advocate for fitness at 36. I could walk down any beach in a thong or go topless...Go Me. But I think it is so damaging to our kids to see adult images in childhood. On a beach, in print, on television...it is all too much. I have friends in Canada who say it's soooo natural. It was during Adam and Eve. It's not now. Why? You do it first. Then you tell me what you expected, what happened and how you felt in front of 12 year old children. Of course I would think it was pretty tacky for me to show someone I don't want to screw any of my assets. What a waist. And if I were at a pool where kids saw me...I would feel like a pedifile. But there again, I'm a parent foremost and secondly a teacher who has oathed myself to preserve the innocence of children so that they can grow up without undue circumstances...undue pressures that make them adults before they are prepared for it mentally or physically. America is slowly taking the steps to be as sexually open as Canada and Europe. I think it sucks. At the rate that we are cranking out these reality shows I am adding stress to my already single parent regeme. Porn isn't art. It's just another thing that screws up my kids when I have to bust my ass keeping everything else straight. It's just another burden on the single parent who is fvcking about to blow up. Pay the bills, buythe clothes, lunch money, band, baseball, dance, be the cook, clean the house, take the college courses, mow the grass, tutor your own kids, do the laundry, the dishes and oh, don't forget that during your power nap your kids are watching mainstream t.v. My small comfort is living in a relatively porn free U.S.A. And even that is questionable. Schools out...it's left to the parents.

Mookie - Cool..thanks! I like how the job descriptions are written - much easier to understand and know what the job is about than the job descriptions I've seen here..

Posted by Mookie Blaylock:
L, check out this Job Alert thing on the Canadian government website: www.gc.ca. Under "canadians" and "jobs", there's a service where you an type in certain criteria words and an area of the country and it'll email you when jobs you might be interested in come up.

Posted by L:
Unmistakable..the vulgarity and the inability to say anything intelligent - it's gotta be a Creed fan!! Why do they have to keep popping up on here? (haha) Mook - anything but engineering, okay?

Posted by Mookie Blaylock:
Hey ƒuckwad (mookie killer), how can I take my ass "back to French Canada" (thanks for the capitals, by the way), when I already live here...here where the pot's legal (almost), the girls can go topless (in Toronto) and the porn is on primetime tv (in Canada, porn's called "art"). You tell me where you'd rather be. And L, the market is booming for engineers in the gas and oil industries but mainly in western Canada. I don't know of any place to download Matt, and since he's a struggling local Halifax boy, I'll put some pressure on you to buy it. C'mon, throw a little of that valuable US money Matt's way.

Posted by mookie killer:
I think all you girls need to find a new hole to bang. Why dont you take your sorry asses back to French Canada and shut the hell up!!

Posted by L:
I love his husky voice, his accent, and his cynicism and the fact that he can be cynical without being ugly. Is there a place where I can download Matt Mays' music? Is there anything specific I should listen to? Mookie, what's the job market like in Canada? I'm thinking I'd like it over there. I also heard the women can go topless somewhere in Canada..is it Ontario?

Posted by Mookie Blaylock:
I'm listening to the Sadies song as I write this. It's awesome. The sound is very Pogues-ish huh? That sort of folk/country with the accent in the vocals. I'm diggin' it. Oh and you can order Matt Mays' CD on his website. Its worth it.

Posted by Mookie Blaylock:
I didn't listen to the song, oops, I guess I missed where I could. I will though. Man, Powell's a lunatic. Hey did you guys hear that Canada appears to be a few months away from a national decriminalization of 30 grams (about an ounce) of marijuana? The media is warning that one of the results will be long waits at the American-Canadian border. I say so what, I'll just smoke another one and wait. Our government took the issue to Washington before going to our own House of Commons. I think it backfired though, because we've got our crazy conservatives and alliance guys supporting it out of sovereignty. And hey non gay, thanks for the mushy email. And don't laugh, I probably do know your friends.

Posted by L:
Mookie, I'll check out that band you mentioned - did you listen to the Jon Langford & Sadies song? Lucy, glad to hear you got away by yourself - your trip sounds awesome! I got sunburned myself this weekend rollerblading, and my legs are sore, but oh well, I had a great time and it was worth it. Has everyone heard that FCC Chairman Powell is trying to push forth legislation that would even further loosen regulations on large corporations eating up the small stations? Unbelievable!

Posted by Lucy:
Oops, caps in the name. I know that has nothing to do with anything we are talking about, yet it has always been an adult dream of mine to just run away and leave it all behind. I finally did it and it was nothing short of wonderful for my spirit. Have a great week guys!

Posted by lUCY:
Guys, this has been the best weekend of my life! I ran away and no one, but NO one had a clue where I went! It was the most awesome experience!!! My kids were at their fathers for the weekend and it is raining like crazy in Georgia. I drove to Florida and hit the sunny beaches of florida. Although I am slightly burnt it was amazing to slip away...run away...with nothing more than a bikini and a credit card. No wild partying, no looking for love...just me, the beach and a cheap hotel with a shower and a bed. I didn't even take make-up or a blow dryer. Cool beans...one more week of school.

mookie, I am constantly amazed by the person you truly are and how you don't need to scream to the world about all of you wonderfulnesses. My best friend aimee has the same weight problem as you. she was 270 three years ago and is now down to 170. she has almost plateaued just like you though but is confident that with yoga, working out and running, she will continue to tighten everything up. the body is so used to all the extra weight that it takes a very long time to create a new body. have you read Perfect health by chopra? my other very good friend just got her masters in native studies with very specialized part of art history of native people. my newest funniest friend garth is from nova scotia and his friend steven came and visited yesterday, beat us all at tennis the bastard! I am sure you know both of them (i say sarcastically). I bow to you miss and hope one day we will run into each other on the streets of halifax. I live in victoria bc right now. 5'11", hazel eyes, sun burnt nose, hair that is getting a little long, way to white and skinny legs, brown hair with highlights that I did not choose to have put in. I laugh too much and try very hard not to be a closed off person as so many choose to be and tell others to be. I love stopping in the middle of a run somewhere and looking up at the sky or the trees or just closing my eyes and feeling the breeze touch my smiling face. I have just finished my 4th book. the first three are childrens books and the 4th is an alternative book. I play tennis badminton and rollerblade everywhere. I love being healthy and eating homemade food, I love cooking a real meal of ingredients just thrown in to create something more. I respect and would love to continue correspondance with all of you for years to come.

Posted by Mookie Blaylock:
L, I almost forgot. Of course my guy has heard of Jon Langford. He's got the Mekons on his mile long "List of Music to Get" (as if he didn't already have enough...is there ever enough?). A friend of ours went to London last fall to see their fairwell tour. I'll keep an eye out. One more thing, if you can find it, I HIGHLY recommend Matt Mays (mattmays.com). He'll stoke that new-found love of alt country even more.

Posted by Mookie Blaylock:
Get to know me! as John Lovitz would say. Hmm, well it appears I'm the youngin'. I'm just 27. As mentioned, I'm 5'9" and I weigh about 170-175. But I did weigh 215 about 2 years ago, so I'm on the right track. My goal is 160. I'm slowly acheiveing it through a combination of running, aerobics, and pilates. While I don't seem to be losing a load of weight lately, the pilates have had dramatic effects on my stomach and legs. God bless Joseph Pilates. I'm not married, but I've been with my current boyfriend (whom I often refer to as husband 'cause its way easier) for 7 years. My natural hair colour is dark brown. Lucy, sorry to disappoint you. I went red once and didn't much like it. I'm not one for cosmetology. I'm a city planner but lately I've been working with mainly rural First Nation communities. Its amazing work. I'm Canadian, born and bread on the east coast and I love it. Its heaven on earth. We don't get temps like you do Met7, but every year we get snow, rain, sunshine, hurricanes, thunder, lightening, hail, fog, clouds, and anything else you can imagine. If you don't like the weather in Nova Scotia, just wait 5 minutes, 'cause it'll change. I too need lots of sleep but that's probably because I also seem to need lots of beer, the best of which, as luck would have it, my city is famous for producing.

Posted by L:
Mookie, I love the city too! I could spend half a day just sitting at a sidewalk cafe watching people go by, and the rest of the day walking around. Lucy, thanks for the advice - I will try that eye contact trick next time...I have put in my resume for a new job in my company, so I hope I get it! Right now I work in Engineering/Planning and have to work a lot with numbers and forecasting. I have almost 0 technical aptitude and am very right-brained (i.e., illogical and abstract), so don't ask me how I got in this field. I'm 5'6, blue-eyed, 116 lbs, kind of a dancer's body, especially since I've been doing the Pilates. I recently lost 20 lbs after I started on the Pilates routine. I'm 30 and never married - no kids, and beginning to despair that I'll ever meet the right guy. I've had three long-term relationships that ended badly, even though I'm now friends with all of them. I'm a lot more confident in myself than I used to be, so I'm hopeful that I'll meet a better person the next time. Lucy, I admire your stamina - I need 8 hours minimum sleep and am selfish with my time. I just bought a condo and it's the first time I've been a homeowner and I love it! Met7, congratulations on your anniversary - it sounds like you are very happy. At your height, flats are probably best, but I wouldn't go over 2 inches on the heels.

Posted by .:
sorry I meant I DONT have 4 inch heels, I wear flats

Posted by Met7Az:
Haaa just kidding. OK Lucy heres the stats yes 6ft 1 160 pounds, im the type of guy that women hate cause I eat like a horse but my high metabo eats it up. Divorced once and remarried ( today is my 4 yr aniv. matter of fact ) blonde blue eyed, daughter is 8 son is now 18 months ( Lucy hes wearing size 2-3 clothes, size 8 shoe ) what else... Im in Phoenix, Az so I have my tan already since its been 90-106 already... dont really run or fitness, bowling and pit crew keeps me busy, and yes I still have my six pack ! HAH Oh and I have have 4 inch heels, I wear flats LOL

Posted by Lucy:
Mookie...But are you a redhead? That is soooo what I picture you as. If you're not you should be...I see you as the brunette who goes red and flirts with the pool guy in clairol commercials! Out spoken, confident and beautiful inside and out. Oh, and at 5'9; don't forget to keep a closet full of 4 inch pumps...very classy for us 5'9 gals! It's all about the legs gal...we got 'em, no shame to that! L, you are not in the wrong field. You are more confident than you give yourself credit for. If it helps...during presentations don't look at the back wall above heads as they used to tell us. Look just above the nose, between the eye browes and you will give the illusion that you are looking people in the eyes. It's an amazing technique that totally will change the way you present yourself. When you are assumed to be confident and getting raises for eye contact...you will actually be in your zone. As a teacher, that was a Godsend my first months. Now, I'm just really comfortable with my students, their parents and most situations. Eventually looking them in the eye is easy. Met7Az, OMG...you are the original Greg Brady! Okay, so how tall is tall? I see 6'1 and 180lbs. Prior Army tells me you are groomed for fitness. Are you a runner or weight trainer? You're a cancer survivor, so I KNOW you have quit smoking!?! You love margarita's (as do I) so you are the life of the party with a guitar in hand. I'll bet you met your wife at a gig or a friends house while you were practicing with Surgical Steel. Okay, so we're FINALLY getting to know each other. What are each of your stats? I'm a 30.....6 year old mother of a 10 year old and 12 year old. I am PRESENTLY a teacher at a middle school. I am twice divorced and loving the freedom. I own my own house and I am entirely overwhelmed with being Mother, Father, provider, bill payer, cook, maid, and transportation specialist. But as a perfectionist, I excel in all the above and sleep an entire four hours every night! Weehoo! Perhaps that will explain some of my comments here. Lack of sleep over a prolonged period of time. How about you guys? What makes you tick, what do you do? Kids? Job? We're broaching on a Green Muse "Warm and Fuzzy" moment here on the now defuct Creed site. Goodnight.

Posted by Mookie Blaylock:
Cool. Thanks for the comments. Hmm, I'd have to say L's the closest. In terms of looks, I often describe myself as "Janeane Garofalo and Christina Ricci's love child". Although, I'm 5'9", a bit taller than both of them. I'm rarely the centre of attention at parties, but I've been known to sometimes break into a bit of 'stand-up' at social gatherings. I do enjoy being right, that's for sure, but I also love it when someone changes my mind. I do love nature but I also love the city and all its quirks. The way people interact in cities fascinates me, guess I chose the right profession. And L, I'll mention the link to my guy. Hopefully, I'll stump him, I love it when that happens...but it so rarely does.

Posted by L:
Let me clarify that remark about country music. I have now become a true alt-country fan after listening to a lot of great samples from CMJ New Music.

Posted by L:
Hey, Mookie, I'm not what you'd consider a real country music fan, but check out Jon Langford and the Sadies song, Solitaire, from their Mayors of the Moon CD...it's great! You can download it from this page..http://www.bloodshotrecords.com/bands.php3?bandid=22. Has your husband heard of this group?

Posted by Lucy:
Mookie...definitely a red-head, fair skinned, 5'7 to 5'8. Center of attention at parties. Very direct and likes to be correct!?! Close??? (Oh and it's MID 30's. but pretty right on.)

Posted by Met7Az:
Hey Mookie know something... My Moms name is Thora Burchfield... and she looks like Florence Henderson during the Brady Bunch era look LOL

Posted by L:
Okay, Mookie, if I recall correctly, you are a city planner? I know some people in this field of work, and they are very nice - much nicer than the ones I meet in the corporate world. I picture you as being very natural with a relaxed attitude - no frills, dark-haired - short to medium length (don't ask me why), medium height and weight, attractive, very open-minded and self-confident. I also see you as being very intellectual with strong views, but very willing to listen to other people's points of view with an open mind. I also picture you as a nature lover doing things like back-packing, hiking, biking..did I come close?

Posted by Mookie Blaylock:
Do me! Do me! Who do you guys think I look like?? When I think Met7, I think Kid Rock now because that's what he said. When I think of L, I think Thora Birch a la American Beauty, smart, well-read, adventurous but mildly introverted. When I think Lucy, I think older bombshell, like a gal in her late 30s who totally knows how to take care of herself. A mom with a bit of a sexy rocker side. This is a fun exercise.

Posted by L:
Lucy, thanks for the nice compliments - actually, I'm very shy, but more confident when I'm writing. My shyness causes me a lot of problems - especially at work because I have to give presentations and talk to a lot of people. I'm totally in the wrong field and I'm now desperately searching for something that suits my personality better. I stay physically fit also, but I HATE running. I do Pilates, Yoga, and roller-blading mostly. I like to play tennis too. I like posting on this site because I think there are a lot of fun personalities here and I love to read the different points of views!

Posted by Met7Az:
PPPPffffff... hahahah god no Kato... But Yeah I still surf, but haven't played V-Ball in a while. Im a Bowler now probably going pro next summer. I was and still am the class clown so that'll give ya all an idea of my personality if you haven't grasped it from my posts

Posted by Lucy:
Wow, cool! L, I'm 5'9 and NOT large chested...but my size fits my body. (Todays wonder-bra's do miracles! LMAO) I have long blonde hair and am a fitness/runner fanatic...more for stress than anything else. Nothing like kick boxing ANY image in a bag! I'm told I'm pretty also, but I like to think my personality makes people think that. I like beauty that comes from within and radiates out. I pictured you as confident as well. Perhaps 5'6 and hazel green-eyed like myself because you have a warm personality...very pretty. Your writings actually made me think of Jewel, the singer. This is fun. Met7Az...okay, I got some right...but surfer dude was not in my vision! Now I think Roger Daltry!!! After a few margarita's perhaps Kato Kalin...j/k. And I wouldn't be surprised a bit if our old pal Paranoia was Miss Avril Lavigne herself. What happened to our schitsophrenic child? At any rate, I like the company I keep here, when I'm here. 9 days till summer vacation!!!

Posted by L:
Let's see...I'm medium height, slender, blondish-brown hair, and no one ever tells me I look like any actress or rockstar..okay, but people say I'm pretty, and I think I am too! Lucy, I picture you as being pretty, tall and large-chested and also very confident in your manner.

Posted by Met7Az:
Heheh she knows me too well. Ok Im tall Blonde/ blue eyed surfer/volleyball type. When my hairs long I look like kid rock, when its permed.. Rod Stewart dead on.. now... its short.. .I look like a dork-HAH !

Posted by Lucy:
Hey Guys! End of school coming up...10 days and still breathing. Okay. We've done this before but lets refresh the newbies. L, I agree...you talk to someone and make an image in your mind about who they are. Be honest...we all envision studdly guys or babes on the internet. We think the intellect will match the looks. I have known Met7Az the longest and I envision him as a hot rocker who works in the high end of business and passes time by pulling a few security gigs at the local arena. He has given the impression that Rod Stewart influenced his earlier persona. (Heh heh, I do listen). He is an awesome husband and father to his kids. I once asked aG if we could have a board where we posted pictures and people put names to the persona...didn't pan out. So....who do you most resemble? As a "Mood Hair" gal I get alot of Meryl Streep in 'Death Becomes Her' when I am blonde and my darker moods get Demi Moore. But it is mostly Meryl Streep in her younger days. Who do you resemble? This could be a really cool thread. My brother actually could be a buffer, taller Kid Rock and my sister looks like Ann Wilson of Heart. Be honest...

Posted by Met7Az:
sooo true L so true. To bad this site isnt like Yahoo where you can post your picture in profile

Posted by L:
It's funny how you read someone's posts and correspond with them for awhile, and you have no idea what they look like or who they are other than what they reveal about themselves in the posts. I think Kid Rock's cute, but, my God, could anyone be uglier and less cool than Mark Tremonti?

Posted by Met7Az:
maaa waaa hahah hah ahh are you serious ? Know what ? I get mistaken for kid rock ( seriously ) so one night my friend ( whos bald and huge ) acted like my bodyguard and 6 of us went to a gentlemens club and acted like I was him. I has a pork pie hat on like his and man the chicks freaked out ( thank god it was dark in there ). I've since cut my hair tho....

Posted by Mookie Blaylock:
Some jerk got arrested in Florida for pretending to be Mark Tremonti. Man, its sad enough pretending to be a celebrity, but pretending to be a pathetic loser? I think I'm gonna cry.

I can't believe the extreme immaturity of some people. If they could just pull their heads out of their asses to take a good, hard look at how they're acting, then maybe I could tolerate them better. Until then, the human race is a hot, steaming pile of hopeless bullcrap.

Posted by Met7Az:
alcohol and or drugs... hmmmm I wanna know where these people spent what was it $257.00 some odd dollars and their suing for 2 million ? So in other words they are suing on behalf of all the people that went to the show... but they are going to get all the money. Hmmmm.... First off they need to add the Venue, and TicketMaster into the equation also since they are judging the payout from the cost of the thicket sales which Creed or any band for that matter does not get the total sum. They get a percentage of the door which is usually about 30% which after paying off expensives etc etc and their label, their lucky to see maybe 2% of the profits. Sorry I agree to being pissed about the concert, but why all of a sudden your going to sue for a concert back on 12/07/02 ??? Ohhh Ok I see now. So if I dont like a show I can sue ? However my distaste for Creed is, this is just aother prime example of a frivous lawsuit tying up courts time

I heard Kid Rock has bootlegged tapes of it and he loves it. It is funnier than hell, that's for sure Met7. Its filmed in a trailer park about 15 minutes from where I live. Bubbles is the dude with the glasses and the severe underbite, he totally makes the show. I think its gotten a bit of a cult following, now they just have to crack the American market.

Hey Mookie Showcase is the Canandian version of our Showtime. We get OZ, Queer as Folk etc etc but not the Trailer Park Boys tho. Looks funnier than hell btw

Is it me or does it seem that every new cd she brings out... no ones listening ? Im mean her music is crap anymore, shes doing that "Prince" off the wall shyt now that just satifies her record contract... but no ones buying. oh well... shes a skank anyways

Posted by Mookie Blaylock:
Yeah, I know what you mean Met7. Ever notice how Entertainment Tonight picks one star at a time and then runs with it? Like when Ricky Martin was the shyt, man, every show, it was all about him. And where in the holy name of ƒuck is he now? In some gutter, that's where.

I mean really going thru the channels hes on E!.... entertament tonight... etc etc... get his off the air ! And take Oprah with him !

Posted by Mookie Blaylock:
Yeah, Julia Roberts and Leonardo DiCaprio get paid big $$ to play themselves over and over again. Real tough job.

Posted by Met7Az:
Ugh Julia, Meg Ryan, Juliet Lewis... I cant see how they can be called actresses ! Meg Ryans voice alone makes me puke

Posted by Mookie Blaylock:
Why are so many people so pissed that Michael Moore got an Oscar? Who cares? The Academy Awards are a complete joke. How come no one kicked up a stink when Julia Roberts won one? That's more insulting and blasphemous than any Moore win.

Praise Jesus, I finally agree with non gay on something. Yee ha! I remember when I first decided that pot should be decriminalized. At that point I had never even had any. I was watching a special on PBS about Nancy Reagan's beloved "Minimum Sentencing" laws. A middle-aged American man had been growing and dealing dope for 15 years. He had 4 children, all of which were interviewed during the special. They ranged in age from 16 to 9. Only the 16 year old had any inclination of what her father did for a living. The others thought he was a farmer. They were all A students, well-adjusted and articulate children. The 16 year old knew what pot was and what it's all about because her parents had sat her down at 15 and explained. They told her when she was 18 she could decide for herself. She had never seen any pot in the house, nor ever witnessed a deal happen. You know what's coming next....the little family operation gets raided. Dude is like 4 plants over the minimum needed to be eligible for minimum sentencing. He and his wife are sentenced to 45 years each in prison, no chance of parole. The father decides to take his wife's jail time so that she can stay out and raise their now fatherless children. So he gets 90 years. No chance of parole, for growing a natural plant and processing it for the enjoyment and relief of many many people. As a result, his kids will grow up without him and he'll die in jail. A man can rape and beat a child and get less time than that. Its disgusting and according to the special, it happens all the time. Reefer growers with large operations fall victim to being lumped in with all the crack, herion and coke dealers. And non gay, you're so right. Ever see a bunch of dope smokers kicking the $hit of each other on the street, hell no. They're too busy laughing about who's going to go into the 7-11 and buy the snacks.

L, you were all of a sudden replaced by a coherent individual with a clear idea of a situation and a rational decision about what is right. hot dam! lets look at other countries when we want to discuss legalization of drugs to see if it actually helps. then lets imagine if drugs were dealt with in the same way as alcohol and prescription drugs. The abuse of drugs would be rampant but think of the benefits. like L said, no more drug dealers. women that prostitute themselves in order to afford drugs would be allowed a set amount or free treatment. right now it can cost thousands of dollars for treatment of alchohol even though the gov makes millions of dollars off of the sale of it in a year. marijuana is a different matter than other drugs because it has never been shown to be addictive and therefor would not be the cause of addiction clinics. people with cancer would have easy access to mj which is almost impossible for some people not only cause they don't know drug dealers but because it is seen as socially unacceptable now to smoke dubbee's. no more would the youth jails nor the real jails be filled with harmless hippies who smoke reefer to feel high. billions of dollars a year would be saved in jail money alone. not to mention that there could be less officers on the road. could you imagine if weed bars took over some of the hype of drinking establishments, there would be fewer rapes, fewer b&e, fewer fights and everyone would be a little nicer dam it. when alcohol enters the system the first thing it does is shut down the rational part of the brain which means that men with small brains still have complete physical control and so want to do and can do bad stuff that they wouldn't normally even think of pulling off. if toking could take over even a bit of the drinking that is going on then countless real crimes would drop off a little bit. people are more coherent when driving while high than while drunk. check the stats, the amount of poeple involved in cars crashes drunk far outweighs any other reason. I am actually high right now so I will sign off now so I don't make a bigger fool out of myself. alcohol is the worst drug ever!

Posted by L:
You're right. The alcoholic pays for his or her own treatment. Sometimes its covered by insurance at his/her place of employment. Sometimes a treatment stay and Alcoholics Anonymous meetings are enforced by a court. I agree that taxpayers shouldn't pay for treatment per se, but I do think that court-ordered treatment, as opposed to court-ordered prison time is preferable in the case of both alcoholics and drug addicts (to me it's all addiction and should be treated as a disease).

its ok didnt take it that way. But I disagree, they are in prison for a reason, that I can handle. Now the ones thats are in there cause Johnny got caught sneaking a joint before going into the club and its his first offense... no I dont agree putting him in jail. But you need to ( key word here ) Educate the public on this. By the way... what state do you live in where the public pays for alcoholic treatment? It either comes out of the alcoholics HMO or he spends the night in De-tox ( jail )

P.S. Didn't mean to come off so strong in that first line there..

Posted by L:
Met7, do you think that overloading the prisons with these people is a better solution? Our tax dollars are paying for the police enforcement and the imprisonment of these people now. Not to mention the dealers are making huge sums of money and creating dangerous neighborhoods where people have to call 911 frequently. It ends up costing society a lot more money to try to keep the dealers under control, keep our neighborhoods safe, and keep the addicts behind bars for the rest of their lives and provide food and shelter for them. If we legalize drugs, we get rid of the dealers, we put the addicts into treatment centers (like we do for alcoholics, by the way), and then there is a much greater chance for them to be rehabilitated and eventually playing a productive role in society.

Posted by Met7Az:
Yeah but L the old arguement is... who will pay for the Treatment and rehabilitation centers, and pay for the treatment of the addict themselves? most heroin and coke whores have to steal to pay for their habits so you know damn well they wont pay for treatment. And I personly dont want my taxes raised to pay for some drug treatment for a user, when I can barely afford health insurence for my family. What makes you think a 3 strikes and your out loser is gonna clean himself up in treatment ? Hell he/she has been busted for drugs 3 times seems like not a great track record. I just dont see legalizing drugs, to create more problems. I believe in the medical treatment of the drugs but not the other way around. Besides.. we all know where and who to contact to get any drug you want so its not like its not avail anyways. Hell he in Arizona they are bringing in tons of pot dayly across the border because the Gov. has spent so much money to close the borders in Texas and California and so now they are flooding across here. We've had 19 deaths in the desert last year from people crossing illegally. WE have trama centers closing because they are 3 million in debt from treating illegals ( since the law states they cant turn them away ) and they dont pay their bills. Sorry the health care system in the states suck in my eyes and legalizing drugs would just compond the problem

Posted by L:
I kind of lean toward legalizing the hard ones too because I think the only ones who will want to try the harder drugs, e.g., crack, heroin, etc. are the hardcore people that are already taking them. Your average joe would be too afraid to try the hard drugs just for kicks because he/she is too well educated on the effects of becoming addicted. Attempts to curtail drug use via law enforcement cause more harm than good. It's the police efforts that lead to deaths and crime. In addition, our prisons are becoming more and more overloaded with drug abusers and similar non-violent offenders caught up in the ludicrous "three strikes" mandatory life sentencing rule. Treatment and rehabilitation centers would be a preferable option as opposed to letting someone rot in prison because they have an addiction problem. One more thing I'd like to bring up is that cocaine is the wealthy man's drug, and a lot of the wealthy elite are doing this drug in the clubs and in their own homes (I've seen it first hand). People that come from "good" families and have lot's of money like Noelle Bush can be a repeat offender with hard drugs and get caught with crack cocaine in a treatment center, and get a slap on the hand. The rest of us, I can assure you, would be in prison for the same offenses. Does this strike you as just a little uneven when it comes to handling drug offenders? Sorry if I'm rambling. It's been a long day.

Posted by Met7Az:
I've always been for legalizing drugs but not the hard core ones. Hell my cancer doctor used to tell me to smoke up before I came in to help me with my nausea from the chemo

*Sigh*, thanks for the link L, Ed looks so dreamy when he's being all socially active. Yet again, we agree L, on the dope topic too. Tax the be-jesus out of it, have bars where you can buy it safely and legally and apply all the same rules to dope, alcohol and cigarettes: can't do it outside in public places, can't do it inside in public places unless its a designated area or establishment, but in your own home, knock yourself out. As for the state-run gun control, not a bad idea. However I think a national ballistics database is something that should be implemented. Think of how quickly the sniper could have been caught had they had one in place. Maybe people could've been saved.

Sorry to change the subject, but THIS is what they call "impaling"? http://www.pearljamonline.it/FOTO/2003/tour%20handbook/ijmage2.jpg By the way, (sorry to steal your line, Met7 ;)), Mookie, I believe marijuana should be legalized. The health benefits have already been proven. Besides, as Met7 stated, where has the "war on drugs" gotten us? Far better to legalize it and tax it instead of using taxpayers' money to criminalize it and imprison for the most part, fairly harmless "offenders". Alcohol, in my opinion, is a far more dangerous drug with far greater hazards to the health (I can attest to this from personal experience). Also, I would like to add that Howard Dean, one of the Democratic Presidential hopefuls, feels that gun control should be in the hands of the states so that states like Los Angeles, where street gangs are a huge problem, can enforce stricter gun laws than say, a state like Montana, where people like to use guns for hunting. I never thought of it this way before, but it kinda makes sense. What do you think?

P.S. France is the #1 exporter to IRAQ by the way...a Terrorist nation by the way... or should I say soon to be former Terrorist nation?

Posted by Met7Az:
hhe heh well I see I started something now... No I "was" a fan of Mr. Moores work until "Bowling". It still doesnt hide the fact that he's cutting and editing the film to "distort" and fit the facts to his opinion. Oh well to each his own. Gun control ? HaH ! Will never work. As an example, check Australias stats. They have gun control and their crime has increased over 300%. No thanks. Gun Control is like the "War on Drugs". It looks good on bumber stickers and on paper but in reality... it'll never work. Its just like when we were underage kids and wanted beer... someone is always gonna get it if you want it bad enough... well same with guns. Now onto France... boycott them ? Hell yeah you bet...F-em. Their pissed cause they wanted the UN to give the inspectors more time so France can sell more weapons and exports to IRAQ before we attacked. Kinda funny how the Col. forces are now finding French made missles and bombs all of a sudden. And I love how France was trying to protray themselves as a peaceful netrual nation...what a laugh. Ok Im done

Met7, you should visit michaelmoore.com. He reveals the facts on recent reports that his remarks at the Oscars are hurting him professionally. He also reveals the truth about the Dixie Chicks. There are reports all over of their record and ticket sales plummeting. Moore has done his research, both he and the Chicks have never been more popular. Attendence at his Oscar winning film increased 110% after the Oscars, the book (Stupid White Men) went back to the top of the Best Seller list (for the 4th time). The media would have you believe that speaking out against the war and the senseless killing of Americans and Iraqis was something Moore would regret. But if you read the stats, they show the opposite is true. I bet Horowitz is shakin' in his shoes, this "leftist movement" is "poisoning" yet more young minds.

Posted by Mookie Blaylock:
Yeah, that's a great idea Mr. Horowitz, boycott German and French goods, but continue to support China, they have a model government worthy of foreign support. If people can't tell, I'm being sarcastic....just to change it up a bit, here's one for y'all: Marajuana, legal or not? Did we cover this one already at some point? Probably. I suspect Canada is about 5 years away from legalizing it, what do people think about the subject?

Posted by L:
Yikes - I just read that page...Horowitz wants Americans to boycott French and German goods. How petty and provincial can this man get? Their economies are already hurting badly. This guy obviously has no concept of the way world economies interact with one another. The well-being of other countries' economies affect our own economy whether he wants to believe it or not. Damn, that bouncing shoe is annoying..

Posted by Mookie Blaylock:
Thanks for the hilarious link Met7. David Horowitz and his cute little website, they both make me laugh. First of all, lets consider the source: Front Page Magazine. Yes, now there's a sample of fact-based, unbaised truth in journalism. The site's tag line is: "Help David (Horowitz) expose the Leftist campaign to control America's young minds". Michael Moore could have made a movie comprised to 2 hours of unedited Bush speech footage and this bunch would have called foul. I'll be the first to admit that Michael Moore is as much an entertainer as he is documentarian. Consider however, that the mere act of recording any event impacts the truth of it. People act different around cameras, they say strange things. Perhaps Moore's strutting out of a bank with a rifle on his shoulder is a bit dramatic and perhaps the bank isn't in the habit of letting their customers behave in such a manner, but raising a big stink about whether or not Dylan Klebold and Eric Harris actually bowled that tragic morning is irrelevent. The cold hard facts are still there lingering beneath the surface of this the film's entertainment value. Kids are shooting kids, and Americans are shooting Americans more than any other modernized country in the world. And Moore, along with millions of other Americans (and Canadians for that matter) want to try to stop it through education, gun control and awareness. I believe these articles are an attempt to distract people from those facts.

hey dragonia, email me, we will talk about life.

Posted by DRAGONIA:
I've come to a conclusion. I don't care how much any of you hate Creed. I understand that we're all just idiotic humans at times and its only opinion anyway. The real reason for why I make a big deal over silly things like that is because I'm trying to hide from and ignore the real problems in my life. So can we just agree to disagree and get along? Do you guys think I'm corny and annoying? I try not to be but I'm not too good with finding the right words to say. And it usually comes out like something warm and moist that came from my hind end.non gay, you're one of the coolest people I've ever met. I'm glad that I've wasted so much of my precious time talking about stupid issues like arguing over a band just so that I could meet you. Please don't stone me to death everyone! And one more thing about the war (although I'm pretty fricking sick of it), my cousin is flying to Iraq in a few days. It feels strange. What if he dies of is injured. Sure it would be sad, but to me, it just feels weird. But I have to remember, it was his choice to join the military. GOD LUCY, you teach the seventh grade? How do you sleep at night?.....I hate seventh graders. Take care.

Awww, Poor Scott :'(

Posted by L:
My guess is that self-centered Scott wouldn’t be capable of emerging from his “own prison” long enough to form any kind of opinion, much less take a stance on things that are happening in the world outside of himself.

Posted by Met7Az:
Hey Mookie you need to check out http://frontpagemag.com/articles/ReadArticle.asp?ID=6841 once again Michael Moore has been proven a fake and forger for Bowling For Columbine

Posted by Concert-goers head to exits after anti-Bush display:
04/03/03 Incensed fans walked out of Pearl Jam's concert Tuesday after lead singer Eddie Vedder impaled a mask of President Bush on a microphone stand, then slammed it to the stage. Most of Vedder's antiwar remarks earlier in the Pepsi Center show were greeted with mixed cheers and scattered boos. But dozens of angry fans walked out during the encore because of the macabre display with the Bush mask, which he wore for the song Bushleaguer, a Bush- taunting song from the band's latest album, Riot Act. "When he was sharing his political views in a fairly benign manner - supporting our troops, opposing policy - that's OK," said Keith Zimmerman, of Denver. "When he takes what looks like the head of George Bush on a stick, then throws it to the stage and stomps on it, that's just unacceptable. I love Pearl Jam, but that was just way over the edge. We literally got up and left." Others joined Zimmerman, some complaining about the lyrics of Bushleaguer, which in part call Bush "a confidence man" and say, "He's not a leader / he's a Texas leaguer." "I wasn't sure if it was really happening," said Kim Mueller. "We looked at each other and realized he really did have George Bush's head on a stick and was waving it in the air, then slam-med it to the ground and step-ped on it." "It was like he decapitated someone in a primal ritual and stuck their head on a stick," Zimmerman said. "It kinda blows away the Dixie Chicks." The Dixie Chicks were the target of boycotts and bannings after making an anti-Bush statement on a London stage in March. (On Wednesday, the Marshall Tucker Band announced it would play a May 1 concert in Spartanburg, S.C., as an alternative to the U.S. tour-opening show in nearby Greenville by the Dixie Chicks that same day.) Vedder has used the Bush mask in previous shows in Australia and Japan, but Denver's U.S. tour opener was the first show since war broke out in Iraq. Pearl Jam manager Kelly Curtis couldn't be reached for comment. The Seattle band plays Oklahoma City tonight. Before Do the Evolution, Vedder told the crowd the tale of a Vietnam vet who expressed severe reservations about war in Iraq to Vedder. The singer was incensed when someone in the crowd yelled, "Shut up!" "Did someone just say, 'Shut up'? I don't know if you heard about this thing called freedom of speech, man. It's worth thinking about it, because it's going away," Vedder said. "In the last year of being able to use it, we're sure as (expletive) going to use it and I'm not gonna apologize." Later in the show, he added to that. "Just to clarify . . . we support the troops," Vedder said to cheers. "Our problem is certainly not with anybody over there doing something that not too many of us would do right now, not for these reasons. "So to the families and those people who know those folks and are related to those folks and are married to those folks, we send our support. We're just confused on how wanting to bring them back safely all of a sudden becomes nonsupport. We love them, we support them. They're not the ones who make the foreign policy. . . . Let's hope for the best and speak our opinions." It was after that when Vedder put on the Bush mask and a sparkling silver jacket. He took off the mask, mounted it on the mike stand, then slammed it to the floor.

L, I listen to radio through iTunes, which as I understand is radio from all over the place. I have no idea if its satellite. But its some pretty cool stuff. It would be great to be able to get it in the car. Radio Paradise is the best. Plays a cool mix of unexpected delights.

Posted by Met7Az:
Ok Group Grope... I mean Group Hug ! Lucy start that blender! Sorry sick kid at home so I've been out of here since Monday...

Posted by L:
I'm all choked up..sniff. Hey, Mookie, do you have or have you ever considered satellite radio? I listened to a sample from XM and they played some good stuff like Gomez, Detroit Rock 66 on the alternative station, but my fear is that eventually, as a corporation, they will become more and more commercial. I'd like to get it in my car, but I'd have to buy the equipment for it. Some newer cars now already come equipped with the satellite ready stereo systems, so I'm thinking about waiting til I get a new car in 2004 before I sign up.

L, you and I will be forever bound together by an everlasting, deep-seeded hatred of Creed. Now, that's a beautiful thing.

Posted by L:
Okay, okay, I admit I'm often opinionated and defensive and, on occasion, immature and self-important. I apologize for the unemployed remark - I was feeling ganged up on when I said that. I truly am not un-American, I just have strong feelings about this war. Thank you, Mookie, for coming to my defense, and being a much more diplomatic debator than me. I will try to learn to be more humble in voicing my future opinions (cringe, aack, I can't believe I just said that). I just want it to be know that I remain steadfastly anti-Creed.

Posted by Lucy:
Whew! Is it safe to speak now! LMAO! How I dreaded coming back to this site both yesterday and today. Yeh, I suppose you are right about the slights here and there. And L does have some rather good points in her comments. I just got ticked about the un-employed bit versus reality conversation. Met7Az...I am not gay! Overly happy and always wonderful when asked, but not gay. he he

Posted by Moookie Blaylock:
Cumbya, my lord, cumbya.....Awww, we all love and respect each other. That's sweet. Actually, Lucy's right on that last one, it is important to respect others, especially when debating something as contentious and sensitive as war, religion, etc. However, I'll come to L's defense, because, well, I like L. She's bold, active, and intelligent. I don't think an occasional "low blow" necessarily makes her a bad person. We're all guilty of it (don't any of you even dare try to tell me you've kept it squeaky clean at all times, I have a good memory and I can recall getting and giving a few below the belts over the last few years). Sometimes that kind of behavior is actually more telling of a person's passion and dedication to a particular stand. And hell, sometimes its funny. Not entirely intelligent or mature, but nonetheless humourous. And we seem to be a group that can both give and receive with grace and a good laugh. Besides, if we give up ALL the potty mouth, we would all miss those clever and strategic placements of selected symbols in our curse words. That would suck serious $hit!

HEHEHEH.... Lucy... you are sooooo GAY ! Oops did I say that? Just kidding of course

Whoa! Sorry that was so chatty...I had one too many margaritas last night!

My unemployed statis...how clever a statement that is wholey based on emotional immaturity. I will take that as a reason to put my seventh grade students in the same esteem as you. Non gay, I find it really wonderful that you have been put down numerous times and still have the dignity to build up those who appose you. Met7Az, again, wonderful quotes...I was silenced for the quality they relayed in just information. Mookie, ever the great debator...although we will never fully agree, I admire your ability to keep it out of the gutter. Dragonia...I've been accused of being Metallica7 in the past because we think alot alike. Stick to your guns. L, grow up and learn how to debate without childish presumptions or come backs that bring you negative attention. My students do the same thing. They speak out of turn, they whistle, they use un-warranted put-downs, drum on the desk knowing it pisses me off and they make up stories to justify their personal views. Non gays second to last post was exactly the post that my computor died on the other day. I wrote almost the exact same thing. This conversation is not about personally degregating US, it's about views we all believe in. Mine just happen to be the total opposite of yours and you refuse to listen or comment on the facts laid before you. Seems that if one of us makes sense you tend to throw out the crap comments about our lives that you have no clue about. Especially the un-employed statement. Yet I'm sure it superficially made you feel superior for the five minutes it took you to write it. Not that
