I thought I'd just check in years-years after I used to come on here-and see if the same people are still bashing Creed. Wow how sad to see the same losers stiiiilllllll whining about how Creed "sucks". Man wake up-they dispanded get over it. Music is timeless people. Creeds music will simply always rock. You losers will always be losers. Sad muppets to say the least.
Posted by non:
have you ever heard "is this the end"?
Posted by Lydia:
Creed is awesome! There best songs are "Pity for a Dime", "What's This Life For" and "My Own Prison". Their old stuff is the best!
Posted by non:
i read some interviews from fellow band members of creed and all they did was complain about scott stapp while at the same time saying they split up for no real reason and that it wasn't anyone's fault. aparently, stappster was "on the cell phone all the time," and "just wasn't into the music." he is "for the money." fuuking wanker, he wants to do movies now. what kind of moron would give up their passion for fame? oh, lots of people would. great world we live in isn't it.

Well, its been ages since I've been around these parts but its nice to see some of the old faces are still around (Dragonia and non). The sun is shining on this lovely Friday afternoon and just when I thought my day couldn't get any better, I find out that Creed are breaking up. So I thought I'd drop by and express my joy that the worst band to ever create christian music thinly veiled under 80s hair rock is no more. No longer will any of us have to witness Scott Stapp pretend to be Jesus Christ and Eddie Vedder at the same time. No more will we have to suffer through endless videos where the wind blows whistfully through Stapp's flowing locks while he clenches his fists in a feeble attempt at real angst. We're free, finally, we are free.

Creed is the most energetic and amazing live band there is out there today. I love all the other bands too, but CREED is amazing and i adore them greatly!
Posted by non:
oh my god, kelly, i need you to really think about whether your life is really worth it or not. i'm serious, those are creed's worse songs, jesus, they are so boring, do you really consider yourself to be part of the masses, break free, please, seriously, i am crying for you right now. have you actually listened to any of their real songs. the songs you like are all radio songs. do you know that in order for bands to be played on the radio, they need to be catchy, they need to be mellow, no yelling, no emotion, no soul. these songs are so hollow and lifeless. they are simply there to be non-offensive to everyone, well that is everyone except music lovers. bands do not get played on the radio usless they have a whole bunch of boring songs to choose from.
Posted by Kelly:
I think Creed rule! I love they're songs which have amazing meaningful lyrics. I've always thought that they would have been great in the game Final Fantasy X because the words go well with the storyline. My favourite songs would have to be "One Last Breath", "My Sacrafise", "With Arms Wide Open", "Hide", "Don't Stop Dancing" and "Stand Here With Me"

or better yet, let this crackhead keep posting under my name and it will become the non show. what a goob. But anyhoo, it is I who am looked at and taunted as the mildly retarted mcdonald fry cook and if I want to answer my own post in .003 seconds that is my right and priviledge. and another thing from the real macoy, I just spent a full two minutes the other day explaining how great i am, how can you then make fun of me for it. I was already making fun of myself. are you just retarded enough to have read that post and then rearanged the words and reposted it? i bet you are, do people pat you on the head and tell you that you are cute whenever you open your mouth? seriously though, how many times have you been called a moron? i bet you it is a few times a day and that is why you need to lash out at people who seem better than you. i can just see you now, getting mad at yourself for not being able to come up with anything better than what you posted, must be a rough life, knowing you're inferior. go ahead and challenge me on any topic. i will seem to be some sort of god and you will recognize yourself, just as everyone around you does, as a mildly retarded mcdonalds employee who tries to step up to the skills of everyone that the whole world perceives is better. I am just counting all the people now...
it turns out that even unborn children are more prized by society than you. also, the elderly, social workers, drug dealers, and of course your momma, who just sat up in my bed and jumped on my cack, man that bytch is hungry! about six billion in total, where does that leave you? oh yah, that's right, right where you have always been. ha

What the hell happened to everyone, let's talk about how great I am... I know, I know, you have too much information to condense down to one posting but I assure you that you are allowed to post more than once. Twice you start thinking about me; the parade of pink, balloon covered intelligence, the ingenious turtle-necked innocence of my last floats dazzling display of flying trash talk, wound up in cords of wisdom and humorous envy, your wrists beg for my sharpness wound tight in longing for the known who once escaped you. The band at the front not quite able to concentrate, for they feel me near, they long to kiss the inside bit of my left knee and beg for more than a small portion of my lunch. They would excommunicate their mothers if only for a soft touch from my kitty kat. But, enough of the musicians, for who can account for their taste, rather we shall speak of the beauty queens who lay down each others lives to satisfy my insatiable desire for pink flamingo dancers from Ireland. Those flashy waistcoats betraying the unequalled eloquence of their knobby knees held together out of love for my inwardly bound tomfoolery. Adieu, I use this silent auction as a salute to all of you who see through the turmoil of childhood which always extents well past old age. And again I spit, who can dispose of me, who can replace me in my unanswerable eloquence, my refined edges so full of flaws that my accountant hired a consultant on feminine hygiene. Those deadly dealers of larceny who deal daily with the nonsense of philosophers proving their reason by the bare reason that they believe nothing at all. It gets them through those sunny days when they most feel unwanted, in that coming wave of unsure defense, when time bombs are all we have, for we lash out as our only resort. Perhaps the time for admittance is upon us and we still think that the other should start first. Well then, die, for you and the rest are extinct to the dismal few who know of your kind, and who allow you a sweeping entrance into well-spoken circles, of fire and of faith, of circles that lead to unspoken hearts, of rays that float into unrefined ornaments whose only repentance is their unfavorable demeanor. chow ladies, mook you are the best in showbiz.

So sorry iD, that all the arguments put forth in support of Pearl Jam didn't reach the intellectual caliber of the well-researched thesis you've presented below. We're all especially impressed with your use of "fags" and "blows". How's this? "Its not the band I hate, its their fans" (Chris Murphy, Sloan from Coax Me)
Posted by iD:
I have never heard a decent argument against creed yet. Keep trying, fags. Maybe one day you'll have a good one. Pearl Jam blows. Why? Because they don't rock. Maybe a few songs do, but thats it.

L, if you're still out there, I have another suggestion for you: Ron Sexsmith. Not sure if I mentioned him before but man, his latest, Cobblestone Runway, fantastic (try not to hold the Coldplay duet against him, I don't because personally, I enjoy Chris Martin, but I know they turn some stomachs). He's hard to describe vocally, dare I mention the name Aaron Neville? Trust me on this one. Oh and if you haven't gotten the Matt Mays CD, hurry the uck up. I saw him last weekend (he opened for Sam Robert's and kicked that bastard's ass east coast style) and he seems to keep getting better and better.

Met 7 can you hear us? Speaking of, a friend of mine grew a goatee, I commented that it was very "James Hetfield", now he won't speak to me, go figure. So non, a book eh? Well, I'll play the part you want me to if you'll be the ADHD guy who thinks studio bands with southern jesus-freak lead singers who love the vinyl pants/wife beater look are talented. In the book, you could do cool things like wear your ball cap backwards and hang the american flag in the back window of your pickup.

Good to have you back L, and good to hear someone's doing something about the whole "President" Bush unpleasentness. non, as insulting as you've been to Pearl Jam, Nirvana, me personally, and Kurt Cobain (RIP), I have to commend the "both are dead, one is still putting out records" comment. Creative, funny, sarcastic, and witty. Completely untrue but nicely done. See? We can all disagree completely and still be friends, right....you uckwad.

Hi, Mookie, it's been awhile..I commend you for your staying power! Sorry I've been away for so long, but I have been working diligently as a volunteer for Howard Dean's campaign for presidency, and also as a member of Moveon.org to assist in bringing to light the mispresentation, bullying, and outright lying of our current Chimp in Chief, George W. Bush, and his Banana Republic administration. By the way, "Creed has had three good albums"...bbbtt ha ha hahaa! Did you see the skit on Comedy Central on the Daily Show with Jon Stewart entitled "Creed is Not Good" by Corddry? A video clip was sent to me by email by a member of Citizens Against Creed, but I can't figure out how to open it. Anyway, I heard it was hilarious!
Posted by non gay:
useless drivel, you better copy and paste everything i have ever written on here onto your computer, if you don't you will never ever, ever be happy! I don't listen to the radio for exactly the reason you have described, so that I don't have to worry about it being overplayed. radio play has no baring on the quality of the song, only the song can prove its worth to me, if i don't like it then i bring it out at 6am to the dumpster round the side of the house, and don't worry I will lift the cardboard flap as I drop it off and say hello to you mook, (can i call you mook? i think i will anyways) you are so cute in there with your little radio charged by triple a batteries, your only art... a picture of kurt kobane, mook, i think you got nirvana confused with pearl jam, to tell the difference you just have to realize that they are both dead but one is still putting out records. he, he!
Posted by Mookie Blaylock :
Whether you only listen to a band because its played constantly on the radio or drop it cold as soon as it gets any recognition, its still falling into the hands of hte media. I can admit when I like something mainstream just as easily as I can throw my devotion behind the most obscure bands. I tend to just like what I like. Blind Guardian? Iced Earth Opeth? Please tell me you made these names up. Talk about funniest thing I've ever heard. But serisously, non (can I call you non?), I still love you too, at least you're here, arguing, talking, actually saying something, even if that something is generally useless drivel.
Posted by non gay:
i'm sorry... you think that pearl jams cd's are not mainstream! everything you listen to is mainstream! guaranfukking teed. i listen to blind guardian, iced earth opeth, and a whole bunch of other bands who refuse to be played on the radio. more than I can say for you there mookie. by the way, creed's first album was hardly ever played on the radio, they let themselves become mainstream, just like pearl jam, except that even mainstream people hate pearl jam's latest albums, cause they suck, just like live's new cd's, they are aweful. by the way, I hate jeremy and not cause i have heard it too many times, just cause it isn't very good. i only listen to bands until they turn radio then i stop cold, like a frog jumping through a stream of liquid nitrogren. peace out and stop using insults that don't fit. I still love you though mookie and i love the sarcasm. did you actually say to me that I don't think for myself? that is the funniest thing I have ever heard, try again.
Posted by Mookie Blaylock:
Looks like we're back to the old Creed vs. Pearl Jam argument. The Pearl Jam fans like to use music quality, staying power, and diversity as criteria in their arguments. The Creed fans prefer to use record sales.
Posted by Mookie Blaylock:
HA HA HA HA HA HA HA, you're funny non-gay. That was a good one, thanks. I assume you speak of "Ten" when you say "one good cd". Of course you mean "Ten", I don't even know why I asked that. All mainstream, closed-minded, Nickleback-loving, Creed praising, God-fearing folk only know "Ten". Then, when the local radio station and MTV stopped playing "Jeremy" in constant rotation against "Smells Like Teen Spirit" (RIP Kurt Cobain), you gave up on the whole scene. 'Cause like the rest, if it isn't being force-fed down your throat through a straw of record company-financed media frenzy and fancy flashing lights, then you just don't want any part of it. And know what? I don't blame you, loving what MTV tells you to love is way easier than thinking for yourself.
Posted by non gay:
wow, the best band in history has only put out one good cd and is successfully doomed to never repeat its quality and success. creed has three good albums, pearl jam only has age.
Posted by Mookie Blaylock:
Creed fans often drop by to spew the virtues of seeing the band play live (Scott Stapp's so dreamy, etc.). Well, last Saturday, at approximately 9pm, I had the pleasure and good fortune of taking in Pearl Jam, live in concert at the Molson Amphitheatre (yes, almost all our concert venues are named after beer) in Toronto. The resevoir within that holds the knowledge that Pearl Jam are indeed the best band to ever exist has been sufficiently refilled, overflowed even. So go ahead, try to tell me Creed's better, I'm completely mentally prepared to laugh hysterically in your face.

Whew!!! I was waiting for that reply. Thanks for understanding. I, too, believe in sex-ed. However we differ on being open on that one. But I have seen kids raised both ways and in the end I guess it comes down to the individual and who THEY chose to be, right? Honestly, I have known some bohemian parents who frequent nudist resorts who have kids who are total opposites...which actually most kids are opposites from their parents. I guess it's the view that no one wants to BE their parents. Of course, I would be like my Daddy in a heart beat. This coming from an adult who didn't want to as a teen. Oh, and way to go on the "sticking it to me." I'm really not THAT confident in my body. What I was trying to say, in my drunkin ramble, was that I do work out hard and I 'could' if I chose to...not that everyone would be that impressed. But you know what an ounce of courage in the form of tequela will do to you!
Posted by Mookie Blaylock:
Hey Lucy, I had my suspicions that you were rip-roaring drunk during that one (given the Memorial Day weekend and all), but I thought I'd stick it to you anyway. I understand your desire to protect your children, believe me. I have two nieces to whom I am completely devoted. Sometimes they ask me these questions and all I want to do is tell them to wait until they're older to be curious. But sadly, telling kids that often causes them to make ill-informed decisions. It can also cause kids to think sex is dirty, that its something that should be hidden, something to be embarrased about. The result is more and more adults with serious sexual hang-ups. Again, I'm not saying "orgies for everyone", just that not only are kids not nearly as 'innocent' as we think, but underestimating their curiosity and intellingence can get us all into heaps of trouble later on.
Posted by Lucy:
...and yes, alot of it comes from single parent frustrations. Perhaps I need to put the breathalizer back on the computor when the kids are away.
Posted by Lucy:
Oops, naw, it didn't stir up too much Mookie..it was a major margarita day yesterday. Wow, I did sound kinda full of myself. Sorry. What I meant to say, (Ahem, without the rambling and shameless Go Me..lmao at myself) was that I like that my kids are not given the opportunity to view things that would make them grow up too quickly. And there is a reason why sex education is taught in middle school and not grade school (and even that is minor)...they are not mentally prepared for it at young ages and it is perverted to allow them to see it. Sorry if I offended you Mookie, I am just glad that I was raised as I was and that some things are kept under cover. I will go sit in the corner now for being so full of myself.
Posted by Mookie Blaylock:
Wow! Didn't mean to stir the pot...okay, okay, you know me, I did mean it. Lucy, I barely understood most of your rant as it appeared to be a mixed up combination of desperate single-parent frustrations and obvious personal ego stroking (I could walk down any beach in a thong or go topless...Go Me). I did want to say its pretty insulting for you to make the assumption that people who watch porn are using it as a subtitute for sex, in fact my experience has been that people who enjoy adult films tend to be very sexually active. I do agree with you that these films are not for children. But they can be rewarding and enjoyable for adults and when I say mainstream tv, I don't mean that there's a little soft core on at 10am right after Sesame Street. I just mean that after 9pm on some Quebec stations, adults can enjoy some artfully made films, beautiful in fact. I intend to educate my children about sex openly, freely and honestly. I won't leave them to "sneak a peek" when they become overly inquisitive. My experience with children and having been a child once myself is that kids are born inquisitive. I remember distinctly asking my kindergarten classmates what they knew about how babies were made. Its ridiculous thinking kids are non-sexual and that we should treat them as such until they're 18 or caught sneaking it. I'm not saying lets whip out the porn as a lesson in sexuality, I am saying there's nothing wrong with adults enjoying porn. And not only is there nothing wrong with kids being sexually curious, its necessary to inform them and talk to them openly about it. And Lucy, please don't reply with a bunch of "you don't have kids so you don't know" remarks. Being fertile, female and heterosexual does not necessarily make you an expert on rearing children. There, that should stir things up sufficiently.
Posted by Lucy:
Free porn on mainstream t.v! No thanks, I just canceled my HBO for that perversity. Don't need it, not interested. I get mine at home where t.v. is not foreplay. Two shouts out to those imaginative Americans who don't need props or "how to do it" reality shows. We'll stick with our soft-porn-put-the-kids-to-bed-because-they-MIGHT-show...OMIGOD...a shoulder! I like that America doesn't imbibe in the "art" that is so free in Canada. I want my kids to be kids until their minds are so inquisitive that they have to sneak to see it. I personally don't want to come home from a long day at work and see tits and ass on t.v. Being in top shape and loving my life right now...I am not thrilled at the thought of topless women in the open. I, personally would never presume it to be less than a sexual act, but that is because nudity, to me, is an exclusive right to a certain person. After having two children and putting countless hours into fitness...I could be the advocate for fitness at 36. I could walk down any beach in a thong or go topless...Go Me. But I think it is so damaging to our kids to see adult images in childhood. On a beach, in print, on television...it is all too much. I have friends in Canada who say it's soooo natural. It was during Adam and Eve. It's not now. Why? You do it first. Then you tell me what you expected, what happened and how you felt in front of 12 year old children. Of course I would think it was pretty tacky for me to show someone I don't want to screw any of my assets. What a waist. And if I were at a pool where kids saw me...I would feel like a pedifile. But there again, I'm a parent foremost and secondly a teacher who has oathed myself to preserve the innocence of children so that they can grow up without undue circumstances...undue pressures that make them adults before they are prepared for it mentally or physically. America is slowly taking the steps to be as sexually open as Canada and Europe. I think it sucks. At the rate that we are cranking out these reality shows I am adding stress to my already single parent regeme. Porn isn't art. It's just another thing that screws up my kids when I have to bust my ass keeping everything else straight. It's just another burden on the single parent who is fvcking about to blow up. Pay the bills, buythe clothes, lunch money, band, baseball, dance, be the cook, clean the house, take the college courses, mow the grass, tutor your own kids, do the laundry, the dishes and oh, don't forget that during your power nap your kids are watching mainstream t.v. My small comfort is living in a relatively porn free U.S.A. And even that is questionable. Schools out...it's left to the parents.

You tell me where you'd rather be. And L, the market is booming for engineers in the gas and oil industries but mainly in western Canada. I love his husky voice, his accent, and his cynicism and the fact that he can be cynical without being ugly. Is there a place where I can download Matt Mays' music? Is there anything specific I should listen to? Mookie, what's the job market like in Canada? I'm thinking I'd like it over there. I also heard the women can go topless somewhere in Canada..is it Ontario?

I'm listening to the Sadies song as I write this. It's awesome. The sound is very Pogues-ish huh? That sort of folk/country with the accent in the vocals. I'm diggin' it. Oh and you can order Matt Mays' CD on his website. Its worth it.

I didn't listen to the song, oops, I guess I missed where I could. I will though. Man, Powell's a lunatic. Hey did you guys hear that Canada appears to be a few months away from a national decriminalization of 30 grams (about an ounce) of marijuana? The media is warning that one of the results will be long waits at the American-Canadian border. I say so what, I'll just smoke another one and wait. Our government took the issue to Washington before going to our own House of Commons. I think it backfired though, because we've got our crazy conservatives and alliance guys supporting it out of sovereignty. And hey non gay, thanks for the mushy email. And don't laugh, I probably do know your friends.

Mookie, I'll check out that band you mentioned - did you listen to the Jon Langford & Sadies song? Lucy, glad to hear you got away by yourself - your trip sounds awesome! I got sunburned myself this weekend rollerblading, and my legs are sore, but oh well, I had a great time and it was worth it. Has everyone heard that FCC Chairman Powell is trying to push forth legislation that would even further loosen regulations on large corporations eating up the small stations? Unbelievable!

Oops, caps in the name. I know that has nothing to do with anything we are talking about, yet it has always been an adult dream of mine to just run away and leave it all behind. I finally did it and it was nothing short of wonderful for my spirit. Have a great week guys!
Posted by lUCY:
Guys, this has been the best weekend of my life! I ran away and no one, but NO one had a clue where I went! It was the most awesome experience!!! My kids were at their fathers for the weekend and it is raining like crazy in Georgia. I drove to Florida and hit the sunny beaches of florida. Although I am slightly burnt it was amazing to slip away...run away...with nothing more than a bikini and a credit card. No wild partying, no looking for love...just me, the beach and a cheap hotel with a shower and a bed. I didn't even take make-up or a blow dryer. Cool beans...one more week of school.

mookie, I am constantly amazed by the person you truly are and how you don't need to scream to the world about all of you wonderfulnesses. My best friend aimee has the same weight problem as you. she was 270 three years ago and is now down to 170. she has almost plateaued just like you though but is confident that with yoga, working out and running, she will continue to tighten everything up. the body is so used to all the extra weight that it takes a very long time to create a new body. have you read Perfect health by chopra? my other very good friend just got her masters in native studies with very specialized part of art history of native people. my newest funniest friend garth is from nova scotia and his friend steven came and visited yesterday, beat us all at tennis the bastard! I am sure you know both of them (i say sarcastically). I bow to you miss and hope one day we will run into each other on the streets of halifax. I live in victoria bc right now. 5'11", hazel eyes, sun burnt nose, hair that is getting a little long, way to white and skinny legs, brown hair with highlights that I did not choose to have put in. I laugh too much and try very hard not to be a closed off person as so many choose to be and tell others to be. I love stopping in the middle of a run somewhere and looking up at the sky or the trees or just closing my eyes and feeling the breeze touch my smiling face. I have just finished my 4th book. the first three are childrens books and the 4th is an alternative book. I play tennis badminton and rollerblade everywhere. I love being healthy and eating homemade food, I love cooking a real meal of ingredients just thrown in to create something more. I respect and would love to continue correspondance with all of you for years to come.

L, I almost forgot. Of course my guy has heard of Jon Langford. He's got the Mekons on his mile long "List of Music to Get" (as if he didn't already have enough...is there ever enough?). A friend of ours went to London last fall to see their fairwell tour. I'll keep an eye out. One more thing, if you can find it, I HIGHLY recommend Matt Mays (mattmays.com). He'll stoke that new-found love of alt country even more.

Get to know me! as John Lovitz would say. Hmm, well it appears I'm the youngin'. I'm just 27. As mentioned, I'm 5'9" and I weigh about 170-175. But I did weigh 215 about 2 years ago, so I'm on the right track. My goal is 160. I'm slowly acheiveing it through a combination of running, aerobics, and pilates. While I don't seem to be losing a load of weight lately, the pilates have had dramatic effects on my stomach and legs. God bless Joseph Pilates. I'm not married, but I've been with my current boyfriend (whom I often refer to as husband 'cause its way easier) for 7 years. My natural hair colour is dark brown. Lucy, sorry to disappoint you. I went red once and didn't much like it. I'm not one for cosmetology. I'm a city planner but lately I've been working with mainly rural First Nation communities. Its amazing work. I'm Canadian, born and bread on the east coast and I love it. Its heaven on earth. We don't get temps like you do Met7, but every year we get snow, rain, sunshine, hurricanes, thunder, lightening, hail, fog, clouds, and anything else you can imagine. If you don't like the weather in Nova Scotia, just wait 5 minutes, 'cause it'll change. I too need lots of sleep but that's probably because I also seem to need lots of beer, the best of which, as luck would have it, my city is famous for producing.
Posted by L:
Mookie, I love the city too! I could spend half a day just sitting at a sidewalk cafe watching people go by, and the rest of the day walking around. Lucy, thanks for the advice - I will try that eye contact trick next time...I have put in my resume for a new job in my company, so I hope I get it! Right now I work in Engineering/Planning and have to work a lot with numbers and forecasting. I have almost 0 technical aptitude and am very right-brained (i.e., illogical and abstract), so don't ask me how I got in this field. I'm 5'6, blue-eyed, 116 lbs, kind of a dancer's body, especially since I've been doing the Pilates. I recently lost 20 lbs after I started on the Pilates routine. I'm 30 and never married - no kids, and beginning to despair that I'll ever meet the right guy. I've had three long-term relationships that ended badly, even though I'm now friends with all of them. I'm a lot more confident in myself than I used to be, so I'm hopeful that I'll meet a better person the next time. Lucy, I admire your stamina - I need 8 hours minimum sleep and am selfish with my time. I just bought a condo and it's the first time I've been a homeowner and I love it! Met7, congratulations on your anniversary - it sounds like you are very happy. At your height, flats are probably best, but I wouldn't go over 2 inches on the heels.

sorry I meant I DONT have 4 inch heels, I wear flats

Haaa just kidding. OK Lucy heres the stats yes 6ft 1 160 pounds, im the type of guy that women hate cause I eat like a horse but my high metabo eats it up. Divorced once and remarried ( today is my 4 yr aniv. matter of fact ) blonde blue eyed, daughter is 8 son is now 18 months ( Lucy hes wearing size 2-3 clothes, size 8 shoe ) what else... Im in Phoenix, Az so I have my tan already since its been 90-106 already... dont really run or fitness, bowling and pit crew keeps me busy, and yes I still have my six pack ! HAH Oh and I have have 4 inch heels, I wear flats LOL

Mookie...But are you a redhead? That is soooo what I picture you as. If you're not you should be...I see you as the brunette who goes red and flirts with the pool guy in clairol commercials! Out spoken, confident and beautiful inside and out. Oh, and at 5'9; don't forget to keep a closet full of 4 inch pumps...very classy for us 5'9 gals! It's all about the legs gal...we got 'em, no shame to that! L, you are not in the wrong field. You are more confident than you give yourself credit for. If it helps...during presentations don't look at the back wall above heads as they used to tell us. Look just above the nose, between the eye browes and you will give the illusion that you are looking people in the eyes. It's an amazing technique that totally will change the way you present yourself. When you are assumed to be confident and getting raises for eye contact...you will actually be in your zone. As a teacher, that was a Godsend my first months. Now, I'm just really comfortable with my students, their parents and most situations. Eventually looking them in the eye is easy. Met7Az, OMG...you are the original Greg Brady! Okay, so how tall is tall? I see 6'1 and 180lbs. Prior Army tells me you are groomed for fitness. Are you a runner or weight trainer? You're a cancer survivor, so I KNOW you have quit smoking!?! You love margarita's (as do I) so you are the life of the party with a guitar in hand. I'll bet you met your wife at a gig or a friends house while you were practicing with Surgical Steel. Okay, so we're FINALLY getting to know each other. What are each of your stats? I'm a 30.....6 year old mother of a 10 year old and 12 year old. I am PRESENTLY a teacher at a middle school. I am twice divorced and loving the freedom. I own my own house and I am entirely overwhelmed with being Mother, Father, provider, bill payer, cook, maid, and transportation specialist. But as a perfectionist, I excel in all the above and sleep an entire four hours every night! Weehoo! Perhaps that will explain some of my comments here. Lack of sleep over a prolonged period of time. How about you guys? What makes you tick, what do you do? Kids? Job? We're broaching on a Green Muse "Warm and Fuzzy" moment here on the now defuct Creed site. Goodnight.

Cool. Thanks for the comments. Hmm, I'd have to say L's the closest. In terms of looks, I often describe myself as "Janeane Garofalo and Christina Ricci's love child". Although, I'm 5'9", a bit taller than both of them. I'm rarely the centre of attention at parties, but I've been known to sometimes break into a bit of 'stand-up' at social gatherings. I do enjoy being right, that's for sure, but I also love it when someone changes my mind. I do love nature but I also love the city and all its quirks. The way people interact in cities fascinates me, guess I chose the right profession. And L, I'll mention the link to my guy. Hopefully, I'll stump him, I love it when that happens...but it so rarely does.

Let me clarify that remark about country music. I have now become a true alt-country fan after listening to a lot of great samples from CMJ New Music.

Hey, Mookie, I'm not what you'd consider a real country music fan, but check out Jon Langford and the Sadies song, Solitaire, from their Mayors of the Moon CD...it's great! You can download it from this page..http://www.bloodshotrecords.com/bands.php3?bandid=22. Has your husband heard of this group?

Okay, Mookie, if I recall correctly, you are a city planner? I know some people in this field of work, and they are very nice - much nicer than the ones I meet in the corporate world. I picture you as being very natural with a relaxed attitude - no frills, dark-haired - short to medium length (don't ask me why), medium height and weight, attractive, very open-minded and self-confident. I also see you as being very intellectual with strong views, but very willing to listen to other people's points of view with an open mind. I also picture you as a nature lover doing things like back-packing, hiking, biking..did I come close?
Posted by Mookie Blaylock:
Do me! Do me! Who do you guys think I look like?? When I think Met7, I think Kid Rock now because that's what he said. When I think of L, I think Thora Birch a la American Beauty, smart, well-read, adventurous but mildly introverted. When I think Lucy, I think older bombshell, like a gal in her late 30s who totally knows how to take care of herself. A mom with a bit of a sexy rocker side. This is a fun exercise.
Posted by L:
Lucy, thanks for the nice compliments - actually, I'm very shy, but more confident when I'm writing. My shyness causes me a lot of problems - especially at work because I have to give presentations and talk to a lot of people. I'm totally in the wrong field and I'm now desperately searching for something that suits my personality better. I stay physically fit also, but I HATE running. I do Pilates, Yoga, and roller-blading mostly. I like to play tennis too. I like posting on this site because I think there are a lot of fun personalities here and I love to read the different points of views!

Wow, cool! L, I'm 5'9 and NOT large chested...but my size fits my body. (Todays wonder-bra's do miracles! LMAO) I have long blonde hair and am a fitness/runner fanatic...more for stress than anything else. Nothing like kick boxing ANY image in a bag! I'm told I'm pretty also, but I like to think my personality makes people think that. I like beauty that comes from within and radiates out. I pictured you as confident as well. Perhaps 5'6 and hazel green-eyed like myself because you have a warm personality...very pretty. Your writings actually made me think of Jewel, the singer. This is fun. Met7Az...okay, I got some right...but surfer dude was not in my vision! Now I think Roger Daltry!!! After a few margarita's perhaps Kato Kalin...j/k. And I wouldn't be surprised a bit if our old pal Paranoia was Miss Avril Lavigne herself. What happened to our schitsophrenic child? At any rate, I like the company I keep here, when I'm here. 9 days till summer vacation!!!

Let's see...I'm medium height, slender, blondish-brown hair, and no one ever tells me I look like any actress or rockstar..okay, but people say I'm pretty, and I think I am too! Lucy, I picture you as being pretty, tall and large-chested and also very confident in your manner.

Hey Guys! End of school coming up...10 days and still breathing. Okay. We've done this before but lets refresh the newbies. L, I agree...you talk to someone and make an image in your mind about who they are. Be honest...we all envision studdly guys or babes on the internet. We think the intellect will match the looks. I have known Met7Az the longest and I envision him as a hot rocker who works in the high end of business and passes time by pulling a few security gigs at the local arena. He has given the impression that Rod Stewart influenced his earlier persona. (Heh heh, I do listen). He is an awesome husband and father to his kids. I once asked aG if we could have a board where we posted pictures and people put names to the persona...didn't pan out. So....who do you most resemble? As a "Mood Hair" gal I get alot of Meryl Streep in 'Death Becomes Her' when I am blonde and my darker moods get Demi Moore. But it is mostly Meryl Streep in her younger days. Who do you resemble? This could be a really cool thread. My brother actually could be a buffer, taller Kid Rock and my sister looks like Ann Wilson of Heart. Be honest...

It's funny how you read someone's posts and correspond with them for awhile, and you have no idea what they look like or who they are other than what they reveal about themselves in the posts. I think Kid Rock's cute, but, my God, could anyone be uglier and less cool than Mark Tremonti?

alcohol and or drugs... hmmmm I wanna know where these people spent what was it $257.00 some odd dollars and their suing for 2 million ? So in other words they are suing on behalf of all the people that went to the show... but they are going to get all the money. Hmmmm.... First off they need to add the Venue, and TicketMaster into the equation also since they are judging the payout from the cost of the thicket sales which Creed or any band for that matter does not get the total sum. They get a percentage of the door which is usually about 30% which after paying off expensives etc etc and their label, their lucky to see maybe 2% of the profits. Sorry I agree to being pissed about the concert, but why all of a sudden your going to sue for a concert back on 12/07/02 ??? Ohhh Ok I see now. So if I dont like a show I can sue ? However my distaste for Creed is, this is just aother prime example of a frivous lawsuit tying up courts time

Praise Jesus, I finally agree with non gay on something. Yee ha! I remember when I first decided that pot should be decriminalized. At that point I had never even had any. I was watching a special on PBS about Nancy Reagan's beloved "Minimum Sentencing" laws. A middle-aged American man had been growing and dealing dope for 15 years. He had 4 children, all of which were interviewed during the special. They ranged in age from 16 to 9. Only the 16 year old had any inclination of what her father did for a living. The others thought he was a farmer. They were all A students, well-adjusted and articulate children. The 16 year old knew what pot was and what it's all about because her parents had sat her down at 15 and explained. They told her when she was 18 she could decide for herself. She had never seen any pot in the house, nor ever witnessed a deal happen. You know what's coming next....the little family operation gets raided. Dude is like 4 plants over the minimum needed to be eligible for minimum sentencing. He and his wife are sentenced to 45 years each in prison, no chance of parole. The father decides to take his wife's jail time so that she can stay out and raise their now fatherless children. So he gets 90 years. No chance of parole, for growing a natural plant and processing it for the enjoyment and relief of many many people. As a result, his kids will grow up without him and he'll die in jail. A man can rape and beat a child and get less time than that. Its disgusting and according to the special, it happens all the time. Reefer growers with large operations fall victim to being lumped in with all the crack, herion and coke dealers. And non gay, you're so right. Ever see a bunch of dope smokers kicking the $hit of each other on the street, hell no. They're too busy laughing about who's going to go into the 7-11 and buy the snacks.

L, you were all of a sudden replaced by a coherent individual with a clear idea of a situation and a rational decision about what is right. hot dam! lets look at other countries when we want to discuss legalization of drugs to see if it actually helps. then lets imagine if drugs were dealt with in the same way as alcohol and prescription drugs. The abuse of drugs would be rampant but think of the benefits. like L said, no more drug dealers. women that prostitute themselves in order to afford drugs would be allowed a set amount or free treatment. right now it can cost thousands of dollars for treatment of alchohol even though the gov makes millions of dollars off of the sale of it in a year. marijuana is a different matter than other drugs because it has never been shown to be addictive and therefor would not be the cause of addiction clinics. people with cancer would have easy access to mj which is almost impossible for some people not only cause they don't know drug dealers but because it is seen as socially unacceptable now to smoke dubbee's. no more would the youth jails nor the real jails be filled with harmless hippies who smoke reefer to feel high. billions of dollars a year would be saved in jail money alone. not to mention that there could be less officers on the road. could you imagine if weed bars took over some of the hype of drinking establishments, there would be fewer rapes, fewer b&e, fewer fights and everyone would be a little nicer dam it. when alcohol enters the system the first thing it does is shut down the rational part of the brain which means that men with small brains still have complete physical control and so want to do and can do bad stuff that they wouldn't normally even think of pulling off. if toking could take over even a bit of the drinking that is going on then countless real crimes would drop off a little bit. people are more coherent when driving while high than while drunk. check the stats, the amount of poeple involved in cars crashes drunk far outweighs any other reason. I am actually high right now so I will sign off now so I don't make a bigger fool out of myself. alcohol is the worst drug ever!
Posted by L:
You're right. The alcoholic pays for his or her own treatment. Sometimes its covered by insurance at his/her place of employment. Sometimes a treatment stay and Alcoholics Anonymous meetings are enforced by a court. I agree that taxpayers shouldn't pay for treatment per se, but I do think that court-ordered treatment, as opposed to court-ordered prison time is preferable in the case of both alcoholics and drug addicts (to me it's all addiction and should be treated as a disease).
Posted by Met7Az:
its ok didnt take it that way. But I disagree, they are in prison for a reason, that I can handle. Now the ones thats are in there cause Johnny got caught sneaking a joint before going into the club and its his first offense... no I dont agree putting him in jail. But you need to ( key word here ) Educate the public on this. By the way... what state do you live in where the public pays for alcoholic treatment? It either comes out of the alcoholics HMO or he spends the night in De-tox ( jail )
Posted by L:
P.S. Didn't mean to come off so strong in that first line there..
Posted by L:
Met7, do you think that overloading the prisons with these people is a better solution? Our tax dollars are paying for the police enforcement and the imprisonment of these people now. Not to mention the dealers are making huge sums of money and creating dangerous neighborhoods where people have to call 911 frequently. It ends up costing society a lot more money to try to keep the dealers under control, keep our neighborhoods safe, and keep the addicts behind bars for the rest of their lives and provide food and shelter for them. If we legalize drugs, we get rid of the dealers, we put the addicts into treatment centers (like we do for alcoholics, by the way), and then there is a much greater chance for them to be rehabilitated and eventually playing a productive role in society.
Posted by Met7Az:
Yeah but L the old arguement is... who will pay for the Treatment and rehabilitation centers, and pay for the treatment of the addict themselves? most heroin and coke whores have to steal to pay for their habits so you know damn well they wont pay for treatment. And I personly dont want my taxes raised to pay for some drug treatment for a user, when I can barely afford health insurence for my family. What makes you think a 3 strikes and your out loser is gonna clean himself up in treatment ? Hell he/she has been busted for drugs 3 times seems like not a great track record. I just dont see legalizing drugs, to create more problems. I believe in the medical treatment of the drugs but not the other way around. Besides.. we all know where and who to contact to get any drug you want so its not like its not avail anyways. Hell he in Arizona they are bringing in tons of pot dayly across the border because the Gov. has spent so much money to close the borders in Texas and California and so now they are flooding across here. We've had 19 deaths in the desert last year from people crossing illegally. WE have trama centers closing because they are 3 million in debt from treating illegals ( since the law states they cant turn them away ) and they dont pay their bills. Sorry the health care system in the states suck in my eyes and legalizing drugs would just compond the problem

I kind of lean toward legalizing the hard ones too because I think the only ones who will want to try the harder drugs, e.g., crack, heroin, etc. are the hardcore people that are already taking them. Your average joe would be too afraid to try the hard drugs just for kicks because he/she is too well educated on the effects of becoming addicted. Attempts to curtail drug use via law enforcement cause more harm than good. It's the police efforts that lead to deaths and crime. In addition, our prisons are becoming more and more overloaded with drug abusers and similar non-violent offenders caught up in the ludicrous "three strikes" mandatory life sentencing rule. Treatment and rehabilitation centers would be a preferable option as opposed to letting someone rot in prison because they have an addiction problem. One more thing I'd like to bring up is that cocaine is the wealthy man's drug, and a lot of the wealthy elite are doing this drug in the clubs and in their own homes (I've seen it first hand). People that come from "good" families and have lot's of money like Noelle Bush can be a repeat offender with hard drugs and get caught with crack cocaine in a treatment center, and get a slap on the hand. The rest of us, I can assure you, would be in prison for the same offenses. Does this strike you as just a little uneven when it comes to handling drug offenders? Sorry if I'm rambling. It's been a long day.

I've always been for legalizing drugs but not the hard core ones. Hell my cancer doctor used to tell me to smoke up before I came in to help me with my nausea from the chemo

*Sigh*, thanks for the link L, Ed looks so dreamy when he's being all socially active. Yet again, we agree L, on the dope topic too. Tax the be-jesus out of it, have bars where you can buy it safely and legally and apply all the same rules to dope, alcohol and cigarettes: can't do it outside in public places, can't do it inside in public places unless its a designated area or establishment, but in your own home, knock yourself out. As for the state-run gun control, not a bad idea. However I think a national ballistics database is something that should be implemented. Think of how quickly the sniper could have been caught had they had one in place. Maybe people could've been saved.

Sorry to change the subject, but THIS is what they call "impaling"? http://www.pearljamonline.it/FOTO/2003/tour%20handbook/ijmage2.jpg
By the way, (sorry to steal your line, Met7 ;)), Mookie, I believe marijuana should be legalized. The health benefits have already been proven. Besides, as Met7 stated, where has the "war on drugs" gotten us? Far better to legalize it and tax it instead of using taxpayers' money to criminalize it and imprison for the most part, fairly harmless "offenders". Alcohol, in my opinion, is a far more dangerous drug with far greater hazards to the health (I can attest to this from personal experience). Also, I would like to add that Howard Dean, one of the Democratic Presidential hopefuls, feels that gun control should be in the hands of the states so that states like Los Angeles, where street gangs are a huge problem, can enforce stricter gun laws than say, a state like Montana, where people like to use guns for hunting. I never thought of it this way before, but it kinda makes sense. What do you think?

hhe heh well I see I started something now... No I "was" a fan of Mr. Moores work until "Bowling". It still doesnt hide the fact that he's cutting and editing the film to "distort" and fit the facts to his opinion. Oh well to each his own. Gun control ? HaH ! Will never work. As an example, check Australias stats. They have gun control and their crime has increased over 300%. No thanks. Gun Control is like the "War on Drugs". It looks good on bumber stickers and on paper but in reality... it'll never work. Its just like when we were underage kids and wanted beer... someone is always gonna get it if you want it bad enough... well same with guns. Now onto France... boycott them ? Hell yeah you bet...F-em. Their pissed cause they wanted the UN to give the inspectors more time so France can sell more weapons and exports to IRAQ before we attacked. Kinda funny how the Col. forces are now finding French made missles and bombs all of a sudden. And I love how France was trying to protray themselves as a peaceful netrual nation...what a laugh. Ok Im done

Met7, you should visit michaelmoore.com. He reveals the facts on recent reports that his remarks at the Oscars are hurting him professionally. He also reveals the truth about the Dixie Chicks. There are reports all over of their record and ticket sales plummeting. Moore has done his research, both he and the Chicks have never been more popular. Attendence at his Oscar winning film increased 110% after the Oscars, the book (Stupid White Men) went back to the top of the Best Seller list (for the 4th time). The media would have you believe that speaking out against the war and the senseless killing of Americans and Iraqis was something Moore would regret. But if you read the stats, they show the opposite is true. I bet Horowitz is shakin' in his shoes, this "leftist movement" is "poisoning" yet more young minds.
Posted by Mookie Blaylock:
Yeah, that's a great idea Mr. Horowitz, boycott German and French goods, but continue to support China, they have a model government worthy of foreign support. If people can't tell, I'm being sarcastic....just to change it up a bit, here's one for y'all: Marajuana, legal or not? Did we cover this one already at some point? Probably. I suspect Canada is about 5 years away from legalizing it, what do people think about the subject?
Posted by L:
Yikes - I just read that page...Horowitz wants Americans to boycott French and German goods. How petty and provincial can this man get? Their economies are already hurting badly. This guy obviously has no concept of the way world economies interact with one another. The well-being of other countries' economies affect our own economy whether he wants to believe it or not. Damn, that bouncing shoe is annoying..
Posted by Mookie Blaylock:
Thanks for the hilarious link Met7. David Horowitz and his cute little website, they both make me laugh. First of all, lets consider the source: Front Page Magazine. Yes, now there's a sample of fact-based, unbaised truth in journalism. The site's tag line is: "Help David (Horowitz) expose the Leftist campaign to control America's young minds". Michael Moore could have made a movie comprised to 2 hours of unedited Bush speech footage and this bunch would have called foul. I'll be the first to admit that Michael Moore is as much an entertainer as he is documentarian. Consider however, that the mere act of recording any event impacts the truth of it. People act different around cameras, they say strange things. Perhaps Moore's strutting out of a bank with a rifle on his shoulder is a bit dramatic and perhaps the bank isn't in the habit of letting their customers behave in such a manner, but raising a big stink about whether or not Dylan Klebold and Eric Harris actually bowled that tragic morning is irrelevent. The cold hard facts are still there lingering beneath the surface of this the film's entertainment value. Kids are shooting kids, and Americans are shooting Americans more than any other modernized country in the world. And Moore, along with millions of other Americans (and Canadians for that matter) want to try to stop it through education, gun control and awareness. I believe these articles are an attempt to distract people from those facts.

Do you guys think I'm corny and annoying? I try not to be but I'm not too good with finding the right words to say. And it usually comes out like something warm and moist that came from my hind end.non gay, you're one of the coolest people I've ever met. I'm glad that I've wasted so much of my precious time talking about stupid issues like arguing over a band just so that I could meet you. Please don't stone me to death everyone! And one more thing about the war (although I'm pretty fricking sick of it), my cousin is flying to Iraq in a few days. It feels strange. What if he dies of is injured. Sure it would be sad, but to me, it just feels weird. But I have to remember, it was his choice to join the military. GOD LUCY, you teach the seventh grade? Posted by Concert-goers head to exits after anti-Bush display:
04/03/03 Incensed fans walked out of Pearl Jam's concert Tuesday after lead singer Eddie Vedder impaled a mask of President Bush on a microphone stand, then slammed it to the stage.
Most of Vedder's antiwar remarks earlier in the Pepsi Center show were greeted with mixed cheers and scattered boos. But dozens of angry fans walked out during the encore because of the macabre display with the Bush mask, which he wore for the song Bushleaguer, a Bush- taunting song from the band's latest album, Riot Act.
"When he was sharing his political views in a fairly benign manner - supporting our troops, opposing policy - that's OK," said Keith Zimmerman, of Denver.
"When he takes what looks like the head of George Bush on a stick, then throws it to the stage and stomps on it, that's just unacceptable. I love Pearl Jam, but that was just way over the edge. We literally got up and left."
Others joined Zimmerman, some complaining about the lyrics of Bushleaguer, which in part call Bush "a confidence man" and say, "He's not a leader / he's a Texas leaguer."
"I wasn't sure if it was really happening," said Kim Mueller. "We looked at each other and realized he really did have George Bush's head on a stick and was waving it in the air, then slam-med it to the ground and step-ped on it."
"It was like he decapitated someone in a primal ritual and stuck their head on a stick," Zimmerman said. "It kinda blows away the Dixie Chicks."
The Dixie Chicks were the target of boycotts and bannings after making an anti-Bush statement on a London stage in March. (On Wednesday, the Marshall Tucker Band announced it would play a May 1 concert in Spartanburg, S.C., as an alternative to the U.S. tour-opening show in nearby Greenville by the Dixie Chicks that same day.)
Vedder has used the Bush mask in previous shows in Australia and Japan, but Denver's U.S. tour opener was the first show since war broke out in Iraq.
Pearl Jam manager Kelly Curtis couldn't be reached for comment. The Seattle band plays Oklahoma City tonight.
Before Do the Evolution, Vedder told the crowd the tale of a Vietnam vet who expressed severe reservations about war in Iraq to Vedder. The singer was incensed when someone in the crowd yelled, "Shut up!"
"Did someone just say, 'Shut up'? I don't know if you heard about this thing called freedom of speech, man. It's worth thinking about it, because it's going away," Vedder said. "In the last year of being able to use it, we're sure as (expletive) going to use it and I'm not gonna apologize."
Later in the show, he added to that.
"Just to clarify . . . we support the troops," Vedder said to cheers. "Our problem is certainly not with anybody over there doing something that not too many of us would do right now, not for these reasons.
"So to the families and those people who know those folks and are related to those folks and are married to those folks, we send our support. We're just confused on how wanting to bring them back safely all of a sudden becomes nonsupport. We love them, we support them. They're not the ones who make the foreign policy. . . . Let's hope for the best and speak our opinions."
It was after that when Vedder put on the Bush mask and a sparkling silver jacket. He took off the mask, mounted it on the mike stand, then slammed it to the floor.

I'd like to get it in my car, but I'd have to buy the equipment for it. Some newer cars now already come equipped with the satellite ready stereo systems, so I'm thinking about waiting til I get a new car in 2004 before I sign up.

Okay, okay, I admit I'm often opinionated and defensive and, on occasion, immature and self-important. I apologize for the unemployed remark - I was feeling ganged up on when I said that. I truly am not un-American, I just have strong feelings about this war. Thank you, Mookie, for coming to my defense, and being a much more diplomatic debator than me. I will try to learn to be more humble in voicing my future opinions (cringe, aack, I can't believe I just said that). I just want it to be know that I remain steadfastly anti-Creed.

Cumbya, my lord, cumbya.....Awww, we all love and respect each other. That's sweet. Actually, Lucy's right on that last one, it is important to respect others, especially when debating something as contentious and sensitive as war, religion, etc. However, I'll come to L's defense, because, well, I like L. She's bold, active, and intelligent. I don't think an occasional "low blow" necessarily makes her a bad person. We're all guilty of it (don't any of you even dare try to tell me you've kept it squeaky clean at all times, I have a good memory and I can recall getting and giving a few below the belts over the last few years). Sometimes that kind of behavior is actually more telling of a person's passion and dedication to a particular stand. And hell, sometimes its funny. Not entirely intelligent or mature, but nonetheless humourous. And we seem to be a group that can both give and receive with grace and a good laugh. Besides, if we give up ALL the potty mouth, we would all miss those clever and strategic placements of selected symbols in our curse words. That would suck serious $hit!

My unemployed statis...how clever a statement that is wholey based on emotional immaturity. I will take that as a reason to put my seventh grade students in the same esteem as you. Non gay, I find it really wonderful that you have been put down numerous times and still have the dignity to build up those who appose you. Met7Az, again, wonderful quotes...I was silenced for the quality they relayed in just information. Mookie, ever the great debator...although we will never fully agree, I admire your ability to keep it out of the gutter. Dragonia...I've been accused of being Metallica7 in the past because we think alot alike. Stick to your guns. L, grow up and learn how to debate without childish presumptions or come backs that bring you negative attention. My students do the same thing. They speak out of turn, they whistle, they use un-warranted put-downs, drum on the desk knowing it pisses me off and they make up stories to justify their personal views. Non gays second to last post was exactly the post that my computor died on the other day. I wrote almost the exact same thing. This conversation is not about personally degregating US, it's about views we all believe in. Mine just happen to be the total opposite of yours and you refuse to listen or comment on the facts laid before you. Seems that if one of us makes sense you tend to throw out the crap comments about our lives that you have no clue about. Especially the un-employed statement. Yet I'm sure it superficially made you feel superior for the five minutes it took you to write it. Not that I need to validate myself by any means, but I have my own business (www.worktaebo4u.com) AND I am a seventh grade teacher. It took me many years to decide to become a teacher, many occupations and big choices. I own my own home and all my bills have MY name on them and they are paid the day they come in. Quite an accomplishment for a single mother of two awesome children. I have spent years debating with Met7Az and Mookie Blaylock and we have never felt the need to resort to presumptious and fallous comments. We debate on fact and/or our personal opinions that were formed by our upbringing and our choices in life. It is an unwritten guideline between real friends. We can disagree without childish behavior. Perhaps Met7Az, Mookie Blaylock and I are the elders on this site...sounds corny, but it is true. But we have a certain etiquite that we use in our debating...it's rather non-conbative. (Unless, of course, we are dealing with a new C.D. release from Creed...then all heck brakes lose.) My point is, if you want to be taken seriously here lose the attitude and the personal attacks that you think make you superior. Mookie, Met7Az and I have debated for years without resorting to fictional put downs. It demeans all intelligence when we use middle school retorts or we just go for the jugular in an all out negativity. In closing; pray for our soldiers. Pray for the families at home and pray for our country. BTW, where is aG these days? I haven't seen a post in a long time.

I realize you believe me to be forever immature, but even still, listen. with open ears and more importantly, open mind. your opinion is formed by mostly luck, just like every other human alive. it is formed by what you have read or heard in the news or opinions you have heard in discussions. these ideas do not comprise who you are, they are simply reflections based on the avaliable facts. this means that news facts must not be instantly rejected by you. more is better, listen to opinions, listen to constructive criticism. realize that we are not attacking you anymore, instead trying to help. this is serious, it warrants a serious consideration, it is different than joking around and poking fun. you are being very close minded and controlled by emotion, you think that each of us are only ever one certain way that we only have one mode of speach and that we hate you. none of those things are true, not even one. we all have respect for who you are and the beliefs you have formed, for your sense of humor and your dedication to creating a wonderful life for you and those you love. respect for you for standing up for what you belief is right and not for falling in line and becoming just one of the flock. there are many flocks out there everyone, be yourselves PLEASE! hippy flock, mainstream coke drinking flock, rocker flock, the list is endless, follow what you feel is right, and be open to the new.

Holy shnikies! Some serious debate going huh? Obviously we're never going to change people's fundemental ideals. Maybe that's okay. Met7 and Lucy believe the war is warranted because they truly believe it will liberate an oppressed people. Much like WWII freed the Jews. You cannot argue with that. No one could sit here and say they don't think people in Iraq should be afforded the same liberties as North Americans enjoy. However, the difference of opinion happens when we look at the reason for the war. L and I believe this war is about oil, corporate manipulation, and greed. Its our right to believe that. Its also our right to go to a protest. I would never spit on a person, car, or flag. Those who do are irresponsible, arrogant and plain disrepectful, but please don't put all people who support peace in this category, Met7. Some of us just don't want to see any more soldiers or civilians die. And you may not believe it Lucy, but the facts are out there about the American involvement in supplying weapons to both Iran and Iraq to fight each other. The facts are also out there about America training bin Laden to fight Russia. In war, your enemy's enemy is your friend. At the time, during the cold war, Russia was the enemy, thus bin Laden was America's friend. Sadly, this mistake cost America thousands of lives. As for acid baths and meat grinders...well, I have to say, I haven't been exposed to this information, and its not for lack of research and study. That's not to say that I don't believe the Iraqi government isn't guilty of atrocities. Lucy, I remember earlier on you said we were naive for believing the war in Iraq was all the work of Bush alone, that in fact its the work of a lot of people in the US government. Well don't you think the same applies in Iraq? Don't you think there are many many many angry Iraqis just waiting for the chance to fill Hussien's shoes? I don't think this war will stop the violence in Iraq or in the whole middle east for that matter. I do believe it will cause more anger and hatred toward America and result in more fanatical fundamentalist groups who take their fury out on Americans. I don't think this war will end all the fear, pain and anger on either side of the ocean. I believe it will only create more which makes me fear for peace and safety in North America. I have compassion for all people. Travelling to many parts of the globe has afforded me the chance to learn first hand about many cultures and beliefs. To suggest I protest war because I couldn't care less about Iraqi people hurts. I protest war because I am devastated at the idea of anyone dying. I also believe, as humans, we don't have the authority to dictate who lives and who dies. We only have that authority about ourselves, our own bodies and spirits. I really don't want all of this to turn into a screaming match. Deep down I think we can all agree that people shouldn't die and suffering shouldn't be endured. It appears we all just disagree how peace should be achieved. I should also point out to Dragonia, I didn't say I liked SOAD. I just posted a link their somewhat controversial new video, direct by Michael Moore, whom I do respect and admire.

There are all kinds of media reports out there that differ dramatically from the ones you latch onto and cling to, oftentimes from much more reputable and credible sources. Anyway, this has gotten really boring. Hope you guys enjoy the next several months of more British, American and Iraqi casualties. I can see that this kind of thing is what makes you feel alive.

We have heard a lot about anti-war demonstrators. Indeed, we have heard a lot from anti-war spokesmen, as the media continue their corrupt practice of providing free air time to those whose antics provide them with footage for their news broadcasts. But what about those who are pro-war?
Who said, "At last the war has begun"? Certainly no one in the Bush administration, nor in the military, nor anyone among the conservative or neo-conservative publications supporting the president's military actions. That headline appeared in bold letters across the front page of a newspaper in Kuwait.
Kuwaitis are not the only victims of Saddam Hussein who have been wanting this war to get under way, so they can be rid of that murderous threat hanging over their heads. Arnaud de Borchgrave, editor at large of United Press International and of The Washington Times, reports that a group of American anti-war demonstrators who had gone to Iraq were shocked to encounter Iraqi civilians who were pro-war.
A young American clergyman with an anti-war group in Iraq said some of the things the Iraqis said to him "had shocked me back to reality." Some of these Iraqis "told me that they would commit suicide if American bombing didn't start." Then they told him of sadistic tortures "that made me ill" just to hear about.
Too many Americans have been too sheltered for too long to have any conception of what it is like to live under horrifying threats. The bargain-basement martyrs of the "peace" movement who disrupt their fellow Americans' lives with their moral exhibitionism in the streets know that the worst that will happen to them is wrist-slap punishment and that most will not get even that.
The blessings we have in this country have been so taken for granted for so long by such people and by many in the media and in academia that they have no sense of what past sacrifices created these blessings, what present-day sacrifices are necessary to sustain them, much less what are the prerequisites for continuing to live as a free people.
More than ingratitude is involved. Those who do not understand what an ongoing price has to be paid continuously to remain free are not only quick to balk at any costs they have to pay or any restrictions they have to endure, they are also quick to attribute cheap motives to those who have the responsibility to make the hard decisions required to protect us from the dangers that the blind refuse to acknowledge.
Some of these who blindly lash out at America say the real reason American troops are going into Iraq is to get control of that country's oil. Do they realize that we had control of Kuwait's oil during the previous Gulf war and gave it back to the Kuwaitis? Do facts matter at all to those who are on a binge of self-righteousness?
Does it matter to them that we live in an age where "giving peace a chance" means giving people like Saddam Hussein time to develop nuclear weapons? Does it matter to them that the doctrine of "pre-emption" is not just an abstract issue but, in a nuclear age, can be the difference between life and death for millions of Americans?
Surely the time is long overdue to understand that Israel did an enormous favor to the world when its bombers made a pre-emptive strike against Saddam Hussein's nuclear facility built by France, by the way. Can you imagine where we would be today if Saddam Hussein had been given two decades in which to develop nuclear weapons?
Sheltered people with no sense of the enormous new dangers that the proliferation of nuclear weapons have created still talk in terms of old shibboleths and discuss issues in the abstract, instead of in terms of the concrete and bitter realities confronted by those with responsibility for the fate of this country.
Since we have nuclear weapons, those who think in the abstract ask, why don't others have a right to have them? It never seems to occur to them that, in the real world as it exists, we are not worried because Britain or Israel have nuclear weapons. But anyone with a brain in his head should be worried that North Korea has them and that Saddam Hussein has been trying to get them.

By the way, I have never participated in a protest, but I can assure you, like all other kinds of protests, there are going to be extremists who insist on going over the line and engaging in violent behavior. The anti-abortionists that you brought up, Met7, are a good case in point. Now, Lucy, would you, a pro-lifer, like to be identified with the people who bomb abortion clinics or murder doctors who perform abortions? This kind of stereotyping and generalization is the kind of "fair" discussion you guys have been engaging in regarding people who are against the war.

I won't even respond to "nongay/DRAGONIA". To the rest of you semi-intelligent people who have no idea who I am, what I have been through, or what I believe in: I am a Network Design Engineer. I have an MBA. I have never owned a tie-dyed garment in my entire life. I subscribe to political magazines which, unlike your right-wing rags and newscasts, are fair-minded and scholarly (e.g., The New Republic). I believe in the Constitution and the American's right to dissent from the prevailing point of view. I believe that it is craven and immoral not to speak up when you see or hear something that you believe is wrong - even when it is the prevailing point of view and is an action or ideology endorsed by the "President" of the United States. I do not look at this war as a personal crusade against rape or injustice or anything else that's going on over there because it's all going on over here as well, and it doesn't justify killing innocent civilians or jeopardizing the lives of American and British soldiers who are being killed or tortured as we speak (not that I for one second believe that that is why Bush wants this war). I also try not to categorize all pro-war people as craven, hateful, violent and intolerant, even though it's hard not to when I listen to them speak. Lastly, while you are all so enthralled with this war, the Bush Administration is trying to push through another $700 billion tax cut for the top 1 percent of the wealthiest. How does it plan to finance it? How else? By cutting education, environmental protection, Medicaid, veteran's benefits and the military budget. Of course, all of us "patriotic" Americans don't mind making sacrifices for our country, when each one of our millionaires gets a $90,000 tax cut.

Another thing, spitting on your truck and trying to tear your flags? How ignorant, you shouldn't even bother with people like that! And did you hear about the POWs who were shot in the head ( or somthing like that) on public television? Death and killing people is WRONG but Hussein must be stopped. It could have been any one of us being shot on television! Someone told me about how the terrorist groups would go out and adopt children just to raise them up to be terrorists. I don't know if any of that is true, but I can't believe how some people would say it's wrong to go to Iraq and stop the people from being brainwashed. Well, I suck at speeches so I'll shut up now.

OK, I promise I won't cuss this time. I was having some "feminine problems" at the time and I had decided to stay away form here to prevent more profanity and "L bashing".Met7, I find your theory to be quite hilarious! I think I'll use it the next time someone starts an argument like that with me. And one more thing, sorry, L for 1) overreacting and using "bad words",2) that I agree with everyone else here but you.
Posted by Met7Az:
Kinda like the Anti-abortion people who say its wrong to kill, but its ok to bomb clinics and its ok to shoot and kill Doctors who do abortions. I still dont get that one...
Posted by Lucy:
Also, L, again I was not attacking you. I have great empathy for what you went through. Perhaps if you were to place yourself back on that day, that very minute and multiply it by 10,000 you will have more compassion towards those who are now in the place you were then. If indeed you understand where I am coming from...if you can recall that moment and living through it instead of being killed or left for dead...perhaps you can understand why this is so terribly important to me. I'm not talking date rape or drunkin regret (which I'm sure you're not either). I'm talking inflicted, thought out, in front of your family rape. If that does not anger you or make you understand humanity, then you are full of sh!t in what you speak. You don't live through that and call liberation a phoney, BS war. If you lived through that, you would not blame it on corporations and an inhumane country wanting to rule the world. Personally I think you are full of sh!t and you are jumping on the newest bandwagon. Your beliefs don't add up to your words. Reading a grand amount of your post...it's my opinion that you are steadfastly Un-American. I guess you can say I just punched you in the nose. Hmmm, lets see how Met7Az's theory works.

Funny L, I never took anything in there personal, just the way it was written. If you will scroll down and re-read the context in which your post was written, it was a personal attack directed soley to me. Hence; "How absolutely self-righteous and pious you sound. Are you the only one who has survived rape or violence? I don't think so. And we're supposed to respect you?" Well, if I took that lack of compassion to be ahem, lack of compassion and turned it into a personal attack on me, the person it was directed too...I'll try to read between the lines and keep it in context. I am sorry that you had the same happen to you. I am not a victem, I am a survivor and that is precisely why I have such deep compassion for this. I don't understand your not recognising the fear, anger and pain I feel when I think of this not being a one time thing, but a constant thing. You are the first survivor of rape that I have met who would not want to go over there and save them yourself. Met7Az, you are soo right on the nose. Yet I bet you would not have the chance to explain your stance since they seem to act out violently anyways, ie rioting, spitting, cursing, etc.
Posted by L:
The comment about survivors of rape was to point out that I was one too, not to show lack of compassion. Regardless, it is senseless to debate the issue with someone who takes everything out of context and tries to turn it into a personal attack against herself. I'm through. By the way, that sounds like a great way to handle people who have a different point of view than you Met7. I'm sure that will work well. Anyway, good luck.

Ok oK I know I know ... Heres my last stance on the matter .....
With all of this talk of war, many of us will encounter "Peace
Activists" who will try and convince us that we must refrain from
retaliating against the ones who terrorized us all on September 11,2001,and those who support terror.
These activists may be alone or in a gathering.....most of us don't
know how to react to them. When you come upon one of these people, or one of their rallies, here are the proper rules of etiquette:
1. Listen politely while this person explains their views. Strike up a
conversation if necessary and look very interested in their ideas.
They will tell you how revenge is immoral, and that by attacking the
people who did this to us, we will only bring on more violence. They will probably use many arguments, ranging from political to religious to humanitarian.
2. In the middle of their remarks, without any warning, punch them in
the fukken nose.
3. When the person gets up off of the ground, they will be very angry
and they may try to hit you, so be careful.
4. Very quickly and calmly remind the person that violence only brings
about more violence and remind them of their stand on this matter. Tell
them if they are really committed to a nonviolent approach to undeserved attacks, they will turn the other cheek and negotiate a solution. Tell them they must lead by example if they really believe what they are saying.
5. Most of them will think for a moment and then agree that you are
correct.
6. As soon as they do that, hit them again. Only this time hit them
much harder. Square in the nose. If you have to kick them in the balls too.
7. Repeat steps 2-5 until the desired results are obtained and the
idiot realizes how stupid of an argument he/she is making.
8. There is no difference in an individual attacking an unsuspecting
victim or a group of terrorists attacking a nation of people. It is
unacceptable and must be dealt with. Perhaps at a high cost.
We owe our military a huge debt for what they are about to do for us
and our children. We must support them and our leaders at times like these.
We have no choice. We either strike back, VERY HARD, or we will keep
getting hit in the nose.
Lesson over, class dismissed

P.S. and by the way I dont wish war on any military personal, but as I was trained and they were also... WAR IS MY JOB...we are trained to DEFEND. And yes I hope they return safely as anyone else would. I come from a long military family and have lost many family memembers in about every war there was. We were brought up not expected to serve, but we did out of duty to protect our freedoms. I served while some in this world were babies and I protected their freedoms worldwide. Hopfully now that some of those babies are adults they are now serving and protecting my infant sons freedoms too. Either way Im not singling anyone out... I just am venting my anger and opionions out in the open. Protesters feel they can voice thers and protest... well I reserve the right to protest the protesters ! i've FUKKEN EARNED IT !

Yes I do believe in the death penalty. Your term "BS" phoney war is why you are not worth debating. No, I am not the only rape survivor and that comment was highly unnecessary, just show your lack of compassion towards anyone and your desire to jump up and debate. non gay is not the one who is an embarrassment as you continuously state. He makes valid points, as do Met7Az and myself, that you try to debate with wrong information. Yes, it was Iran and not Iraq. Also, I do not sit on my couch either (along with you liberals). It's too painful to hear 24 hours of continuous coverage. I also am helping with friends and families who's loved ones are over there fighting for us. Lastly, I didn't ask you to respect me...your respect would mean nothing to me now that I have heard your ignorant, backlashing way of dealing with people.

Thats funny.. .we supplied weapons the Iraq... Since when did the U.S. start producing Russian AK 47 assualt rifles ? And if I remember correctly, France was opposed to the war not to let the UN inspecters have more time...but because they wanted more money. If you do your homework, you'll see that France ( who is trying to pose as a peaceful nation ) is the number one exporter to a terriost nation! We're taking from food, can textiles...to mititary aircraft and missle supplies. Hmmmm... thats odd this "peaceful nation" suppling a dictator.(BTW it was Iran we supplied in the 70's not Iraq). And no im not sitting on my hands on the couch watching the media war hoping to see someone killed. I have family and close friends over there. I have been sending care packages to the troops, I have been helping the Red Cross, and I have been doing comunity service through the American Legion. Tell me... other than disgracing the American military.. .what have protesters done other than making themselves look like idoits on the news and getting arrested? You know its so typictal that when you watch the news you guys look stereo type... tye dyed shirt.. dirty dread locks ( why a white boy thinks that looks cool is beyond me ) Army issue BDU pants... and your stupid logan signs. I guess this is the current band wagon trend to jump on right now huh? What next? What are you going to do crawl back into the woodwork until the next conflict? What I wanna know is how come all these yippees, hippees, wanna bees, trend followers, grateful dead look alikes... how come they can join together to protest etc etc.. but if we say need them to get together to help feed the homeless children in the US... you all turn your back and dont have the time. Sad. Sorry I support this action so I can sleep safely at night and not have to worry that a scud is coming. Hey if you wanna see something rent "Doomsday Gun". This HBO production is based on the life of Dr. Gerald V. Bull, a man who always dreamed of building a 'super gun' and nearly saw his dreams through to fruition. Bull, both a weapons manufacturer and arms smuggler, fell victim to an assassin's bullet before his dream was realized. Set just prior to Desert Storm, when Iraq was in the middle of a war with Iran, Doomsday Gun relates Bull's quest to produce the ultimate long-range missile for Saddam Hussein -- despite the attempts of both the American CIA, British, and Israeli Secret Service to stop him.
Dr Gerald Bull was a genius at designing and building superguns--very large long range guns capable of shooting more than 100 Miles. When a plan by the CIA to export restricted material using him was exposed, the CIA denied all knowledge and Bull went to jail. He was later released to help the Shah of Iran build a new supergun capable of firing over 500 miles. Israel, upon learning of the supergun, feared it would be used against themselves.
A winner from HBO's in-house production unit, Doomsday Gun is an able spy thriller made all the more intriguing because it actually happened. The CIA and the British Secret Service join a lone Israeli Mossad agent in a tense, highly politicized effort to stop "Babylon" from being built. A well-acted, true-life thriller. At the end you'll see UN Weapons inspectors going over the materials in real video of the actual site that Mr. Bull was building this gun for the purpose of firing a missle directly at the US. Anyway Im done..everyone has their opinion, and Im sticking to mine and supporting my country and troops. Sorry so long

l, when morons like you try to come up with arguments against people that are actually rational and know some of the facts about the world,we only get angry. so everyone on this site is going to argue against your stance which is illogical. (opinion that differ from our own are good things, but only if they make us actually think about changing or altering our opinion, and have some merit) we are all sitting on our couches and for the people that want this war to actually solve something, that is perfectly alright, but for you people who have a stance on war or abortion or the death penalty and no argument or set of facts could ever dissuade you from it, sitting on your couch is pathetic, especially when you spend all day ranting about it to everyone you know. I don't think you have ever actually changed your opinion about anything the whole time you have been on this website. you stick with your blind ideas to the end and if someone challenges you about them you simply ignor them or come back at them with some asinine comment which makes no sense. I have had many people read posts from this website before I told them about the people on it and without fail, all of them laugh at your comments in an uncomplimentary manner. they laugh at you, how stubborn you are, how ignorant you are, and how defensive and angry you get when someone dissagrees with your stedfast beliefs. you never hear people out when they are trying to have a discussion with you. not even once, even when everyone else dissagrees with you. think about that and the fact that it means something. instead of doing this you will of course retaliate from emotion, you will call me a loser and you will say for the forty second time that strappletts, dragonia and I are the same people, you will not actually address this issue which I guarantee is affecting your entire life. You will never admit that you have any problems nor do you see the need for self improvement. you are the most predictable person I have ever met and you will never change until you actually start realizing that other people have valid opinions. you must start listening to people when they have something to say for many times, no matter how stupid you think someone is, they will have many things to say that will challenge you and blow you away because it is something you have never thought about.

What seems to escape the pro-war faction time and time again is that the war protestors are against this war because they believe it to be a vehicle of the current ultra-right-wing Administration to dominate world politics and to have control over other countries' resources - namely, oil. Anyone who thinks this war is over something other than these two things is, in my opinion, simply naive. What especially is irksome is that these same people, who admit that the U.S. provided these weapons to Iraq in the first place, are now righteously proclaiming that having these weapons is wrong and that we need to put a stop to it.

The difference between you and me is simply that I want our troops to be safe and at home - you seem only to want them to be at war with bullets and bombs raining down on them. How absolutely self-righteous and pious you sound. Are you the only one who has survived rape or violence? I don't think so. And we're supposed to respect you?

Flag and the Arizona state flag flying in the bed of my truck again ( both are 3ft by 5ft ) and I drove by these lame ass protesters that we're doing this nice little 48 hour candle light protest in downtown Phoenix against the war in Iraq, so anyways as I drove by these FUkkers spit on my truck trying to get to my flag. One Ass hole even tried to tear my flag off which I got out and in a military move...hehheh... he was taken to the ground and promply arrested by Phoenix's finest who were there to keep the calm. Of course I was called every name in the book but once the moron was in the police car... the officer shook my hand and than saluted my face and turn and went back into the crowd. Hmmmm ....

Key Phrase of Met7Az..."We did what these protesters asked us to do, we sat on our hands..." I feel that that is a very important statement in the fact that our government will always fail in someones eyes. And truth be told its always the same people! Oh, so we didn't do enough and now we are reaping the downfall, or we are gung-ho and killing (which has not happened) innocent people. Some of you guys want perfection, yet you can't figure out which perfection you want! A war past tense or a war present...in each case you would say it was wrong while asking why it wasn't taken care of years ago. And yes, I take issue with the abortion liberals and war protesters. It is laughable to me that one has higher prescidence than the other and one is slightly not as wrong because it is a personal choice. Death is death, killing is killing and there is no point where either makes it any more humane than the other. No actually, I'll take a stand against Hussein and say that abortion is worse and our soldiers are fighting to stop genicide, murder, rape for punishment of men...though being imposed daily and repiticiously, hourly, and by many, many men to women who quietly sat in fear... I could go on and it would be the most lengthy post I have ever made. As a rape survivor I am tremendously proud that our men and women are going to free these women and CHILDREN women of such horrible atrocities. Don't fricken tell me we are wrong to liberate these people knowing that if I were dead and my husband spoke against a country such as this, my 12 year old daughter would be repeatedly raped in front of her Dad and brother and we are okay with that! Why don't you just put it straight and say it doesn't effect you and you don't care. You live in America where this doesn't happen by government. Humane? Protesters are a bunch of sh!t for knowelege. They can recount verse and speaches. They can pull up all the adverse situations...yet they still haven't figured out that they are free to speak these verses and they are free to uprise against our government because WE, the soldiers gave them that right and we bought their freedom with our blood, sweat and tears. And if you think these soldiers don't cry for their families back home...you are full of sh!t. The difference is that we know this doesn't happen in our country and we ARE humane enough to put those people in a familial position and fight for them. Bluntly said, the only thing the protesters are saying to me is that this isn't happening in my country...we're safe. Screw the women and children who are hourly being raped, the unrapable elderly who endure acid baths and the meat grinders that fvck them up while still allowing them to live. Yet, these protesters still sit on their comfy couches, in front of their big screen tv's, at their computors...typing away at how it EFFECTS them. How it pisses them off that AMERICA has the audacity to be more humane than they could ever dream of being. Anyone who is against the liberation of these people are just cold hearted, self opinionated, self appointed debators. You seem to know the facts but they only feed your need to argue. Perhaps it would suit you better to argue for your country. What gene is it in only our country that makes a person always go against the grain? No matter what good we do, there is always the certain, disgruntled few, who appose (sp?) the good efforts of our military. Need sleep, church at 8:30. See Ya!

He has to be stopped, doesn't he? But that's why I was going to stay out. Now is it fair for you to be so rude? I guess you can't respect my opinions. I guess it's just because of the little fact that I'm still a Creed fan. And, as I have tried to tell you before, I am not the same person as Stapplets or Non gay! Ok my point is Im sick of everyone saying its all about the oil. Its not ! Period ! We do not draw our oil reserves from Iraq. Hell Our number 3 supplier of oil to us is Mexico and they have more oil than Iraq ever will. Why do you think Bush is pushing for oil exploration in Alaska? Its because the reserves up there hold about as much if not more oil than the middle east and he's trying to get us in there so we dont have to rely on OPEC and the Arab countries. The reason we are attacking a TERRORIST REGIME is because we sat on our hands for too many years and look what happened, 9/11. We did what these protesters are asking us to do, we sat on our hands when terrorists attacked our Marines in Kenya and did nothing. SO the terrorists attacked another Marine base and once again we did nothing. So the terrorists attacked the USS Cole and still what? We did nothing. How much longer and how many more US mothers, fathers and military people need to be killed? Its a known fact that Saddams terrorist nation has weapons of mass destruction. Should we wait until another 9/11 happens before we do something. And Im sorry that arguement of ... well he hasnt attacked us in 12 years why now ? Heh Heh well my friends, we didntget involved with Japan until what happened... Pear Harbor. Do you people understand that we are not out to kill woman and Children ? Thats not taught in the military. But Sadamm has killed millions of his own people Women and Children and his country is broke as he reaps in all the profits. 80% of his country is on goverment aid to feed themselves and they get their equiv of food stamps but that doesnt include meat, veggies, or bread. So basicly they can only buy grain with it. He has suppressed and totured his people for years and anyone for speaks against him is put to instant death. He has murdered his own 2 son in laws even after pardoned them. He has plastic shredders which he feeds live men into as a way of toture and he videos it ( sound familer.. hitler ). He has rape staging rooms that men wait in and then he'll bring in a husband and his family and makes them watch as their mother/wife is rapped repeatenly. Im sorry but I dont but the bullshyt about "its all about the oil." Im personally glad we are over there liberating the country "for the people" ! And the prosters...well.. I have my own personal views on that and I'll keep it too myself as they have the freedom to speak and protest... I just hope they remember how they got that freedom.

I forgot one thing. Lucy, you say fear is not used in America to get people onside with the war? Well, here in Canada, we get mostly American tv stations. What I see is constant coverage of the actual fighting (which scares the living hell out of me) punctuated by images of people buying mass quantities of duct tape and plastic. And then there's the yellow-orange-red system of determining how scared of terrorism you should be. I don't live in America and I'm scared when the terrisom level goes up. All people want is to feel safe again, to feel like something is being done. Thus the war seems sufficient to focus on, to get minds off their fear.
Posted by Mookie Blaylock:
WARNING: lengthy! Lucy, again, excellent points. I have to say it, everyone debating here is pretty damn good at it. A couple if things: First, being one of those people who is against the war but for a woman's right to chose, I'll take a minute and answer your question on how I can be both. The real issue with all that comes down to how you view "life". In your view (and your perfectly within your right to have it), life begins when the sperm meets the egg (or maybe even before that). That's a human, that's a life and should be afforded the same rights and privilages as any human being on the planet. In my opinion, a person is awarded such rights and privilages when they are born. Until then, they reside within a woman who, I feel, has the right to control her own body in any way she sees fit. I believe this because I believe that actual overrides the potential. The woman, who is entirely self-sufficient, makes the decisions about her body. For me, its that simple. That debate isn't about whether or not I (or the many other men and women who support choice) believe that life is precious, its all in one's definition of life and when it begins. Its all about when your rights as a human being start. Its tricky because science and religion get all mixed up in it. But the bottom line is you have no say in what I do to my body as long as it doesn't affect you. Just as I can't tell you what you can and can't do with yours. Secondly, I think we can all agree that just because someone can entertain us in a big-budget Hollywood movie, doesn't automatically make then an expert on peace, war and humanity. I've never taken celebrity advice because of their status. Its reverence and its one of the first things you learn if you ever take a course in propoganda. Most actors, actresses and musicians are completely socially unaware. Its been years since they lived the "regular joe" life so what the hell would they know about it. Thirdly, as far as not having to cover your face equalling freedom, I'm not convinced of that. Traditional dress in many middle eastern countries comes down to thousands of years of religious tradition and culture. I have a dear friend who lives in Dubai. She is an architect, professional, educated, strong, independent and intellegent. But she is also Muslim and respects the traditions of her country and her history. So she is covered when she leaves home. Just because people don't live like we do here in North America and other parts of the world, doesn't necessarily mean their way is wrong or that they are necessarily oppressed. Yes, crimes and atrocities are being committed against the poor of many middle eastern countries. But there are atroctities being committed against people in America, Canada, and many other countries all over the world (Tibetian Monks, female newborns in China, etc.) But is there no other option than bombing the heck out of them? You should also read some history on the many many many times America has forcibly removed democratically elected leaders and replaced them with dictators or worse. It was, after all, America who installed the Taliban only to remove them years later. It was America who trained Bin Laden, only to have him come back and use his training against them. It was America who gave money to Iraq to fight Iran and then gave Iran money to fight Iraq. It seems to me that the American government has been messing things up in the Middle East for years. But its also my believe that this is intentional. Political instability and in-fighting has allowed the Arab world to remain under the thumb of the US for ages. Please don't be naive enough to think that this will all end with Saddam Hussien. The Middle East is home to millions, there are no doubt thousands filled with enough hate, anger and confusion, ready to take his place. War, agression and killing only stir the pot and stoke the fire. I'll leave this question for everyone to ponder and I can't wait to hear the responses: what do you guys think they'll call this era in time in the history books? What will be written in the encyclopedias about the Dubya and his lackies?
Posted by Lucy:
We all have our beliefs and that is what makes our country a great place to live in...freedom. Do you realize that some of the comments we have made in just the last few days would be enough for us to be put to death in these Middle Eastern countries? To speak aloud the thoughts that go against the leader is considered treason? (sp?) Just a thought. Is anyone else here disturbed that there are camera's that are showing the minute by minute situation? That is the only thing I take issue with. We sit in front of our televisions waiting for an explosion or a fire? Almost as if we NEED it to justify our side of the coin. Yet these are the same people saying that the war is wrong. The same people who are picketing the White House because killing is wrong are the same people who say abortion is a right! Which by that notion, the same people promoting PETA are saying abortion is right. I don't get it...there just seems to be an ethical and moral conflict in the person who holds one sign one day and another on the next day. And like Met7Az said...where is it Patriotic to speak out of both sides of your mouth? I read an article today about Hollywood's so-called stars saying they are Human Shields in the comfort of their poolside cabana's and their mudbath sauna's while women and children are the actual Human Shields that these cowards are utilizing. It's atrocious that we, as humanitarians, would chose to NOT come to the aid of those less fortunate than us...and terminate a real threat to not only THESE human lives, but those in our own country. I debated with someone the other day that there has been time for these citizens to vacate the area and it was brought to my attention that some were forced to stay in their homes by Hussein. Why? Human shields. It's horrible, yet the liberals want to step back and see if time will remedy this atrocity. Fact is...we don't know how it feels to live this way; the fear, the indignation, the need for outside help. No, we don't know how that feels. But we do know how it feels to be attacked with our own planes and lose thousands of innocent lives and still understand that our freedom is still intact and our way of living only got marginally disrupted. By marginally I mean that it was made harder only to insure the safety of our people. We have not been made human shields. In fact, we have become an even more sheltered and safer America's. I was raised with a certain and undefiable faith in a country that is just as falible as any there is...yet it has never once asked me to cover my face because I am a woman, it has overcome the racial bias of education and has given me the right to chose who I want as a leader. Albeit, sometimes I don't get the leader I want...but I am certain that in the end the two persons chosen to run for that office were narrowed down by the people of the United States and not a birth right or a dictatorship. "Fear has long been a prefered way to make the public see it the government's way." Not in our country. In our country fear is a strong factor in the "Soap Box" ignorance of those who just want a moment to voice their opinions. And God Bless America, we have that undeniable right through the freedom of speach and the right to assemble with persons with like opinions. In closing, Guys, I don't like war and fighting...I hate it. I hate death and destruction and all that war entails. Yet this has been a factor in our freedom since the beginning of time. It won't soon end because people object to it because there will always be a threat to the free nations. I'll shut up now.

L, excellent quote. Fear has long been a prefered way to make the public see it the government's way. Scapgoating is another favourite and I think it applies here as well. Let's make Iraq pay for September 11. It was one of your former presidents, Eisenhower, who expressed (rather prophetically) fear of what America might become just before leaving office in 1961: "In the councils of government, we must guard against the acquisition of unwarranted influence, whether sought or unsought, by the military-industrial complex." The military-industrial complex is of course the current marriage of the Pentagon and the huge arms corporations that dominate world trade. Another thing to consider: people often make the argument that countries prosper in wartime. Considering how wars are fought now, I don't think this applies anymore. Only the big guys stand to make any real money, as usual.

Lucy, Met7, I understand where you are coming from. I don't blame our people in the military for what is going on because I truly believe that they believe they are doing the right thing and defending our country against Saddam Hussein. I pray for their safety every night. I do agree with Mookie about the so-called "Operation Freedom" being a farce, along with Bush's lame attempts to tie together Al Quaeda and Iraq. Here's an interesting quote from Hermann Goering taken from "Nuremberg Diary" by G.M. Gilbert in which Hermann Goering is being interviewed: "...it is the leaders of the country who determine the policy and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship." In response to the interviewer's comment that in a democracy the people have some say in the matter through their elected representatives, Goering stated: "Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same in any country." Sound familiar?

Right on! Some debate! I love it. Well, where do I begin? Lucy, excellent comments. I too come from a military background. I agree, no vets should be treated like those from Vietnam. And I agree that people make the decision to join the military and accept the consequences. However, you should probably consider doing a little background research. Bush did "dissappear" when he was called for active duty. It was his wealthy status and his father's powerful position that allowed him to avoid it, an option not afforded to many others with less funds and influence. You should also take some time to research the circumstances surrounding government and big business. The two become blurred with each passing year. I'm sure you don't trust the source, but Michael Moore has done extensive research into the corruption within the US government. He presents factual information in several of his books regarding campaign funding sources and tax break information. I think its quite naive to think that Govenor Bush is legit. You should also research the circumstances behind the "recount". The recount in Florida was called off before it was complete by a Supreme Court Justice who is sleeping with George Bush's brother. I'm no scholar but I'd say that about fits the definition of conflict of interest and corruption. Being a humanist (and a Unitarian Universalist), I have to say that killing people is never the answer. And drawing a line between Al Qaeda and Iraq is illogical. "Liberating" the Iraqi people is crap. Why is no one liberating China? Or North Korea? I believe this war is an attempt to control an oil rich nation thinly veiled under a fight for "freedom". However, when I pray, its for the people of Iraq and the people of the USA.

hell if you want a puppet, then you would have got one in Gore. Thank you Lucy ( good to see you by the way ) you pretty much summed up my feelings
Posted by Lucy:
First off L, I was not attacking you, so please don't feel that I was. Secondly, we are not in a Draft Era...so these so-called kids that you speak of made a choice to join the Military knowing the dangers ahead of time. Met7Az and I were both raised in Military families and we both joined BY CHOICE knowing fully well that we could be sent to war. I'm not going to debate the reasons for this war as you have already decided it is a BS war. But I would ask that you be conscientiuos enough to NOT put our soldiers through what our Vietnam Vets went through by belittling their life calling. The choice to fight for America and the American people is a rather large choice of strength, conviction and duty. I have never heard of the AWOL situation, so I am skeptical of that story, but it bares no merit in my eyes as now we are dealing with a world of terrorism and threat. I am proud of all our soldiers who have fought, lived or died for our freedom. As far as Clinton being blamed for certain situations...it is my opinion that his daliances did indeed lead to our country dropping our guard for the soap opera that he was becoming a soft porn star in. Eight years of our people tuning in to see what his next screw-up would be. The government closed down during his command...literally! How you can differenciate Clinton as a "conflicted and thoughtful young man" and then call Bush a "privileged, spoiled, ne'er-do-well" is beyond me. Both came from money, yet one is a idealist and the other is a doer. And I hate to tell you this, as you and I will not agree, but there is a separation in government and corporation. Media is a campaign tool, but does not delegate who is put in office. We, the people do. Votes were recounted. I thank GOD that we are a country that can admit falisy and put the results off in order to recount and let the peoples choice work. I also thank GOD that Gore is not our President today. That's just my opinions though.
Posted by L:
There's a huge difference between the conscientious objection to the Vietnam war and the draft of a conflicted and thoughtful young man (Bill Clinton at 22) and the out-and-out AWOL of a privileged, spoiled, ne'er-do-well like George W. Bush. Of course, nuances like this never fail to escape people like you "DRAGONIA/nongay" and they always will. Gee, I wonder why there wasn't a big stink about Georgie's AWOL in the news? Could it be because American media is owned by the corporations who put him in office?
Posted by DRAGONIA:
Ya know, non gay-I mean "I" haven't been here in a while...
Posted by DRAGONIA:
Bravo, everyone! And didn't Clinton "escape" from going to war too?
Posted by L:
By the way, Lucy, I did vote, but it doesn't count for much when the Supreme Court can go ahead and decide the election for us. In response to your assertion that Bush has "balls". How much "balls" does it take to send someone else's kids off to fight a hypocritical, bullsh*t war without any UN backing? It's especially ludicrous for this man to be calling dissenters "unpatriotic" when he himself was a deserter. Oh, yes, there's that little known, well-covered up incident where Bush "disappeared" for a year when he was called to active duty in the Air Force reserves.
Posted by L:
Actually, Lucy, I don't blame Bush because he's just a puppet for the real hardcore right-wing nuts like Dick Cheney, Don Rumsfield, etc. who want the wealthy and the corporations to rule the country while they dupe the conservative blue-collar crowd with "family-value" bullsh*t rhetoric. I think it's kinda funny that the right-wing Republicans blame one man - Clinton - for the state of the economy, the record-high deficits and gas prices. What a f*cking joke.
Posted by Met7Az:
Thats cool L stick to your guns me I think its bullshyt and I'll give my thoughts. Im sick of people saying they were being patriotic in what they said. Thats not being patriotic thats called freedom of speech! If I called all middle eastern people Towel heads or some other derogatory term, would I be patriotic for voicing my 1st admendemt rights ? No i'd be labeled a racisit. So why then would an entertainer in a foren country have to voice out the comment " Im embaressed that the President is from Texas" ? She did it just to get a rise and support from the crowd and now shes reaping the whirlwind from her comments. Remember what happened to Shanaid O'conner ripped up the picture of the pope on SNL ? Where is she now ( not that she was a huge sucess anyways ). Its like that bitch Janeane Garofalo Explaining why she and other anti-war protesters didn't organize demonstrations when President Clinton launched attacks on Iraq, Bosnia, Afghanistan and the Sudan
"It wasn't very hip" [to protest Clinton's Wars].
Im sorry but Im tired of these Hollywood pukes whos careers are flopping feel they need to come out of the woodwork and start speaking for America ! BULLSHYT ! They do not speak for me. I may not agree with alot of things the Prez says or does but Im a proud American, and I stand behind and support my Prez 100%. I cant wait till these A-holes like Rem, Martin Sheen, and the rest of the A-hole list ( you can view the list at http://www.boycott-hollywood.us/boycott_list.htm ) are out scrounging for a job. Sorry for running off at the mouth but Im sick of this shyt. I support our men and women over seas protecting these pukes freedom to run off at the mouth. Sad part is, half these a-holes we helping and SUPPORTING these same troops the last time we were over there during Desert Storm, now over half of them are on this anti-war bandwagon. They need to see the truth and get the facts before protesting. Ok Im done and again sorry... I come from a long line of Military background as Lucy knows, and shyt like this pisses me off. I just dont want our troops coming back and being treated like out Viet Nam vets were and these Hollywood types are creating that atmosphere. Pft...I thought I wanted to listen to them this morning, put them on top of the car as I carefully negotiated my briefcase and coffee into the car and...the damn things didn't fly! They fell flat on the road when I put my top down. My good neighbor saw it all and handed the road ruined C.D. to me and I laughed. These 'Chicks' are an embarrassment. The heck with "Ten ways to lose a guy!" One way to screw your career is more likely. 'L', you stick with them. More power to ya. Me? I back our President 100%. It takes big balls to tell a man to leave his own country or face certain death. It takes balls to run a country who's very existance depends on legislature that is blamed on him...with the VETO existing. "Power to screw one state" my ass. It's congress, it's legislature, it's the United States. Get a clue and realise that 'ONE MAN' does not make 'THE' call. Folks, we don't live in a Monarchary or Dictatorship...we have delegated representatives that speak for the people. If you have a problem with your representative get off your ass and vote. Otherwise, shut up! Your President is just a head figure. He eats the sh!t while you sit back and b!tch. What a comedy of errors you make yourself to be by blaming one man. It just shows that you have no clue how our government works and you easily look for one person to blame. It's not that simple and you show your ignorance by blaming our President for the state of our nation.

The idea that there is only one Creed fan actually kinda makes sense when you look at it from the perspective of the homogeniety of your average Creed fan traits: White-trash upbringing, low IQ, and pre-teen to teenage age range.
Posted by DRAGONIA:
L's thickheaded idea of how non gay and I are one has led me to believe that there is one, and only one, Creed fan out there who goes around posting under hundreds of different names on hundreds of different sites. In fact, the entire Creed fan race is made up of clones from that single Creed fan. The clone army was started by none other than Scott Stapp himself for his evil plot of world domination through "Pearl Jam rip off music" (obnoxious voice). So we call upon Met7Az to rid us of the Creed clone infestation by pushing their naked cloned bodies off of the Empire State building. With all your contentment you awaken within me a fear I did not know I could possess. Strive, build, imagine, for this is what I have created you, all of you, for. Not to accept you fate, but to break your mold, your self maintained bonds, your endless wailing for a release from this life and these pains that you endure and yet create yourself and never end, never fix. I know your dream was not to daydream your precious life away while sitting in a small stagnant box all day, my dream and vision for you was that of learing to fly, of soaring simply on the essence of a word, the meaning behind laughter, the effort required to find your way, oh please, failure is not for you, and I beg of you, when you find your dream and live in it everyday, remember that others must clean your mess if you do not. Rest, fight, live, cry, open your eyes to the beauty I have created for you:THIS WORLD, and burst with pent up passion, let it flow from you like unseen waves of lightening.

Sounds like Prozac is working well for him. The funny part about this interview is when he said, About this time did you start nodding off ?

My favourite from the interview: "I think they're a bunch of rock dogs just using the Christian angle to get through security faster at airports". And of course when they all say, "Who the hell is Mark?". Thanks L, I can always count on you for great links.

Noted..also, that corny line "put that in your pipe and smoke it". It's so easy to spot a Creed fan due to their habit of spouting cliches in such a boring, uninteresting way.
Posted by Mookie Blaylock:
Well, I don't know about the rest of you, but Yo Mamma sure put me in my place with that pipe comment. I am now thoroughly convinced that Creed "still rock and will always rock" (L, did you note the plural usage?). Please excuse me while I LAUGH. Met7, sweet comeback. Geez, aren't us Creed haters just a bunch of self-congratulatory, arrogant ba$tards.

Oh,and this one's rich!E.W again!:More than five decades after archaeologists discovered the first of the Dead Sea Scrolls in caves on the western shore of the Dead Sea, nearly all the texts, dating between 250 B.C. and A.D. 70, have been published.... They also contain prayer texts, biblical interpretations, poetical fragments, wisdom compositions, and various sectarian documents. -- Associated Press, Nov. 15, 2001
Nov. 20 (EW Newswire): In a surprising turn in the ongoing story of the publication of the Dead Sea Scrolls, biblical scholars have announced the discovery of a heretofore unknown scroll that apparently alludes to the current rock band Creed.
When the scroll was first unearthed last month, archaeologists were vexed by its contents. But the last pieces of the excavation puzzle fell into place when the document's title was revealed as ''The Stapp Scroll,'' which experts now believe is a clear reference to Creed's swaggering and exceedingly self-important singer, Scott Stapp. ''We're not sure how these ancient men of letters knew, 2,000 years ago, about this band and their new album, Weathered, but some things you don't question,'' said spokesman A.C. Schmelmark.
Whereas the famed Dead Sea Scrolls laid out laws for mankind (''No man shall argue or quarrel with the men of perdition''; ''He shall perform the will [of God] in all his deeds and in all strength as He has commanded''), the Stapp Scroll brings to light rules for crafting successful rock with a born-again bent. At a press conference, Schmelmark cited examples:
''No man shall preach too forcefully in song at the risk of turning off his fellow man'': Schmelmark says this is a reference to both the group's undercover Christian leanings and the Weathered track ''Signs,'' in which Stapp bluntly admonishes, ''Time served on the earth doesn't mean you grow in mind...Spiritual insinuations seem to shock our nation.'' In the same song, the scolding line ''We all know sex sells and the whole world is buying'' is cited as the truth, but in this regard, the scroll proffers, ''No man shall sing lines such as these while conspiring with purveyors of cultural carnality like MTV.'' Scholars also speculate that the original scrollsmiths feared that Stapp's references to a ''holy war'' (''Freedom Fighter'') and to a ''wicked'' way of life (''Don't Stop Dancing'') would work against converting newcomers.
''No man shall sound as all-knowing as the Lord -- look what happened to Jim Morrison'': Here the scroll cites ''Who's Got My Back?'' (''See the signs/The covenant has been broken by mankind''). Although the scroll admits it is ''not uncommon'' to encounter musicians who sing of being burdened and who employ apocalyptic imagery in so doing, few are as leaden as Stapp. Archaeologists also speculate the scroll's authors disliked the song's eight plodding minutes, which they claimed subvert the uplifting potential of the lyrics, as much of Weathered does.
''No band shall capitalize on the decline of grunge by offering up holy-watered-down imitations, albeit with a harder mosh-pit groove'': A tenet that, it appears, applies to Weathered -- particularly to guitarist Mark Tremonti's hellishly heavy-handed power chords and Stapp's clenched-throat delivery, which scholars say ''borroweth liberally'' from Eddie Vedder and Chris Cornell.
''No man shall create a love song so grumpy'': Here, the ancient document points to ''My Sacrifice,'' which, despite an anthemic chorus, is weighed down by its surly lyrics. However, the scroll does credit Creed with having reinvented the power ballad, thus foretelling the softer sides of Staind and their ilk.
''No man or musician shall create album art in which he and his colleagues are shown hovering over holy grounds resembling the Cambodian temple of Angkor Wat'': Scholars insist that this reference is self-explanatory with regard to Weathered.
''Judging by the Stapp Scroll, our professional opinion is that the authors saw Weathered coming and were warning us of man's need for shameful self-glorification,'' said Schmelmark. ''Besides, we have it on good authority that the Almighty One is more of a dc Talk fan.'' EW Grade: C-

Posted by DRAGONIA:
I have some new material to rant about! (JOY) Entertainment Weekly has given Human Clay a C- grade in a review as posted here! : Creed return with the same formula they used on their first album: lunkheaded kegger rock sculpted from tiresome grunge riffs and aggressive discharge. Quasi-spiritual lyrics that have all the resonance of a self-help manual hardly help their cause. But so what? Chances are the opiate-hungry throngs will fist-pound in unison to such insights as ''Forked tongues in bitter mouths/ Can drive a man to bleed from inside out.'' C- : Well mrs.Laura Morgan (writer), I have some advice for you. Kiss my shiny, white, a$$ and shove your tongue in my rectum! This magazine, looks down upon Creed and yet they glorify Eminem. Go figure. I guess if Scott Stapp wrote sings about killing his wife and raping his mother then he would be considered original and " great music of our time". And yet they never wonder what the song "Beautiful" is about. ( and let alone listened to it!)

HAPPY 30th B-DAY SCOTT PHILLIPS!
Posted by DRAGONIA:
Shut up, non gay! you are not me! Just kiddin'.Anyway,L,I only used your reason because you had posted it on here earlier and stuff like that...yeah. I haven't slept in a long time. Uggh! But really, why would anyone add something to a list that includes this:"And most of all, the guys most definitely Do "DO" each other, or any body or anything"? Mookie, you can think what you want, but I just don't agree. And that's just fine, I'm only expressing what I think and making a statement like you are.But the sad thing is, I really do have pictures where Mark looks constipated! Oh,that's funny!
Posted by non gay:
also L, seriously the only reason that dragonia posted those reasons to hate creed is that they are so retarded and nothing to be proud of by any means. ah, a light went off in your head eh L? albeit very dim but still you understand her reasons now don't you. also, remember that I always make sense when I want to. You could not understand, try reading it again, this sort of thing happens to everyone not just you. it's all about context and trains of thought, keep that in mind next time you read my posts. by the way me and dragonia are the same person so don't let her tell you other wise.
Posted by DRAGONIA:
I knew it was you! No, non gay and I are not the same person, and yes, George Bush is a doorknob! And a cheesecake! And an utter. I find that Creed-hater website very funny, especially when they gloat about reaching over 100 reasons and half of those idiotic reasons are repeated several times!
Posted by L:
Gee, that was so clever of you to fill up space with a bunch of reasons to hate Creed from a Creed-hater website that most of us have already read (and some of us have contributed to) - if you notice, the one about Hootie and the Blowfish was one of several contributed by "Lori"...hey, that's me! Non-gay, you rarely make sense - I do not think that even YOU know what you are trying to say half the time (kinda similar to Dragonia), but I have long suspected that you two are one and the same. Oh, and yes, George Bush is a doorknob.

Thank you Dragonia for that last message. I truly enjoyed it. While no one really need defend why they hate or love some form of art, all of that stuff is amusing to read. My favourites were the one about Tremonti's head being "shaped sorta funny" and the one about him needing to put his foot on something. I have to admit that if Pearl Jam suddenly grew mullets, started wearing leather pants and singing "church songs", I'd have to reconsider my devotion to them. Also, your comment about Creed being a Pearl Jam rip off. You say that's been said too many times to have any meaning. If someone believes something to be true, it holds meaning eternally, no matter how many times it been said. Maybe if I say George Bush is a doorknob over and over, it'll lose all its meaning and maybe he won't drag us all down into his hate-driven war mongering.....hey its worth a shot.
Posted by NON GAY:
another thing, Dragonia, those reasons to hate creed are so intelligent and convincing, cause those things are what determines whether a band is good or not, that I will never listen to creed again. my GOD, Stapp used to do karyokao, die creed die!
Posted by non gay:
forgot to mention that even though Micheal and yanni are ridiculed cuz they are ridiculous and I would never tell anyone if I actually listened to them, they actually do have talent and make very amazing music, just like creed, Ha, Ha, just like every other argument you fools throw my way, I have one up'd ya'll donkey doers. Your argument only works if you buy into a total disreguard for talent and instead focus only on appearance and what society tells you is good or bad. BUY BRAND NAME YOU PEONS! I guess it is more the marketing morons than it is society but society sure does buy into it. I love that everyone on here talks about how lame mainstream is and yet still listens to only mainstream music and only express mainstream thoughts on mainstream things, makes me laugh. BONSAI!

Well, non gay, I've decided to take your advice and keep on ranting! So here it is! THE MOST IDIOTIC REASONS TO DISLIKE CREED! (or any other band at that) Maybe the'll actually get the humor in this and understand that it's supposed to be funny!
They Sound like hootie and the blowfish
Scott Stapp is a piece of Crapp. (wow, love your spelling!)
They show Scott Stapp's face too much in the Music Videos.
They Wear leather pants.
They Suck.
That part in the Song "Higher" When Scott Stapp says, "It Helps me to, Appreciate..."
You have to be a member of Creednet.com to post on the message board. (well, I hate that too)
Tremonti looks like he is gay. (and you guys say us Creed fans are bad at this!)
None of the members are black
Somehow, someway, I know that they are responsible for the death of Dale Earnhardt.
creed memebers f*** each other on their bus.
Mark Tremonti's head is shaped sort of funny.
Scott Stapp used to put his pretty boy panty waste attitude on stage at Potbelly's on open mike night, and sing Pearl Jam songs like he thought he was Eddie Vedder. No wonder Creed sucks so much... look at the influences.
Mark Tremonte "has" to play with his foot on something, like a speaker, box, rock, etc. (please learn to spell Tremonti first!)
Scott Stapp has a mullet
They're a Pearl Jam rip-off (been said too many times to actually have a meaning!)
Scott Stapp looks like a fagot in that cowboy hat
The "Weathered" CD
Their temporary bassist looks like a hermaphrodite
Their concerts draw elementary-school-aged kids
Scott Stapp sounds fake
Scott Stapp wears tight leather pants
The video for "Bullets"
Their drummer is the only one with talent, and he doesn't get any credit
They fired their bassist because he asked for a fare share of the money they were making
Scott Stapp's wife looks old enough to be his mom, i.e. she's a crack-w*ore
Scott Stapp named his son after Mick Jagger
Creed sucks worse than Hootie and the Blowfish because at least Hootie and the Blowfish knew they sucked and were ripping the public off. (sounds like what someone else said, hmm)
Scott Stapp looks like a woman, really
Mark Tremonti seems constipated when he performs.( at least this person can spell it)
And most of all, the guys most definitely Do "DO" each other, or any body or anything
creed SUCKS BECAUSE THEY SING CHURCH SONGS...I HAVE ENOUGH OF THAT IN SCHOOL
(Gah! This is boring, but very humorous! Need more?)

So let's see if I can sort this out. Dragonia is allowed to come here and bore us with bunch of "you say this" and "I say that" drivel about why Creed-haters are childish (eventhough all of Dragonia's counterpoints were just at weak) and that's considered exercising freedom of speech. When the rest of us respond and tell Dragonia to grow up, that a bunch of circular arguments aren't going to make us all misty over how much it hurts her heart to hear nastiness about Creed, we're considered the bad guys. If Dragonia can clog up this site with all kinds of bull$hit (adequately backed by truckloads from non-gay), then I'm sure as hell permitted to be sarcastic about Dragonia's bleeding-heart comments about why we should all be nicer and intelligent about how we bash Creed. uck that. By the way L, I saw that Conan, it was hilarious.
Posted by L:
Ha ha, saw Conan O'Brien the other night and he plays softball with Michael Bolton. One night he made a joke on the show about him, and the next day there was an article in some small-town paper that showed a picture of Michael in a v-neck sweater with no t-shirt underneath - funny enough right there - but it gets better. Michael threatened that Conan better move off of third base to the outfield because Michael was going to slam a softball right down his throat!!...bbbbbtt haha ha ha ha!
Posted by Met7Az:
ppffftttt... Yanni.. the "Master" of the pan flute... Like theres 900 other people who play it but he's the "Master" of them all. I lump Yanni into the group of annoying people ( group consists of Kenny G., Michael Bolton, and Yanni ). Mr Bolton was another singer like Scott Stapp as the ladies loved his looks but not the talent. Notice how his popularity faded when he cut his hair and chicks found out he was hiding his bald spot! Kinda like Andre Agassi... chicks ran away when he went bald. Someday Scott... when you go from Cocaine to Rogaine you to will be bald and loney at the bottom of the heap. Ok I've covered my topics today
Posted by non gay:
by the way L, nice comparison, but I would say that creed is more like Yanni than micheal bolton. it makes perfect sense to me finally.
Posted by non gay:
remember L, I am not the one that needs things explained to me... good job listening to the other side of the story for once... Dragonia, what's up with the ridicule you get for talking slightely different from the norm? why are you mistaken for childish when the way you talk is a decision on your part because you like the way it sounds. If dragonia wanted to she could sound like a 200 year old dead philosopher but where is the fun in that. I myself could go on for about 10,000 words which is only one sentence long, including no less than 9788 words with more than five syllables in them, durr, what's the point, its been done, it is not fun, nor funny, waste of my F U C K I N G time is what it is. keep doing what you are doing Dragonia, one day the simples will understand.
Posted by L:
Sorry about ignoring such "original, thought-provoking" responses from Dragonia such as (said in whiny, sarcastic voice) "ever so sorry for expressing my feeellliiings" and that lame "freedom of speech" argument that really has nothing to do with anything that's going on here...in case you didn't catch it the first time (obviously you didn't) Mookie was making fun of your complete and total inability to accept the fact that a lot of people dislike Creed, and the fact there are a ton of anti-Creed websites out there just reinforces what we three (I think that's all there's left of us) adults have been trying to tell you. Creed is a joke to most of the world population. You have to admit that any band with any credibiliy whatsoever would not be received with as much hatred and ridicule as Creed has. Other bands and solo artists I can think of that are similarily reviled are Hootie and the Blowfish and Michael Bolton. All these guys in my opinion deserve ridicule. The one thing that differentiates Hootie and the Blowfish from these other guys, is that I think they always knew they sucked and were ripping off the public. On the other hand, Michael Bolton and Creed actually think they are great musicians who create music with passion and soul....how pathetic!
Posted by DRAGONIA:
I don't like the Creed site that much. Fan sites are way better in my humble opinion.
Posted by DRAGONIA:
A little off topic, but I have a question. What do you guys think about the band Kittie? Just went to their website and its cool!

I have heard that same useless phrase about a million times whenever some one doesn't like a website. "YOu don't have to come to this site if you don't like it," is so tired that it falls asleep on the sidewalk outside of its house. uggggghhh! seriously, we are here for some discussion everybody. If it is worthy discussion or in Dragonia's case, praise-worthy discussion, perhaps we should actually think about it instead of disreguarding it as trivial with the simple use of a laaaaame phrase. Haven't I taught you people anything? and L, i think you left your brain at the watercooler with that last comment
Posted by DRAGONIA:
Where are you, non gay, I'm outnumbered!
Posted by DRAGONIA:
Well, Mookie,no one ever said you had to post on a Creed board either. And I'm ever so sorry for expressing my feelings about an issue. I must have misread the part where the freedom of speech no longer exists in America. Not everyone agrees with you and not everyone agrees with me. This is just what happens in the world today. And yes, if they're going to let you say faggot, then we should be able to say other obscene words as well (gee I guess the freedom of speech really has been destroyed)Funny, they let you say faggot and YOU'RE(I can tell them apart)all screaming it out and accusing the Creed fans of the dirty work.
Posted by Met7Az:
I dont think I've ever used the term Faggot directed at Scott... I think Butt Spanking Homo or Ass Bandit was more political
Posted by L:
I think "faggot" is allowed because it's a Creed fan website and they are the ones who like to use the term as an epithet. I think that most of the rest of us in the civilized world can accept the fact that there are people in the world who don't have the same sexual orientation as us.
Posted by Mookie Blaylock:
Its weird isn't it, that a word like faggot is permitted, yet all the other ones aren't. Who made those rules anyway? Oh and Dragonia, I'm sorry you're (your) feeling so much pain from all the abuse being inflicted on you. Maybe you should stop coming here (as well as all the other places where people hate Creed) and for heaven's sake, stay away from any site where it says things like "What do you think?" or "Comments:" because those are scary nasty places where people express themselves. You'll want to avoid that, your fragile heart might get broken.
Posted by Mookie Blaylock:
Dragonia, I think a lot of people here use the word faggot because its one of the few derogatory remarks permitted. My previous post was just a test of that.

Ignorant
moron
idiot
half-wit
dumb-a**
mentally deficient
mentally underdeveloped
mentally retarded
stupid
as*hole
degenerate
s***
scum
trash
unqualified for procreation
genetic curse
( names the webmaster insists you call Creed fans)
Well,She's obviously spent some hard thinking time on this! But does she really know any Creed fans personally enough to come up with this kind of information? There's something very interesting here. She calls us ignorant and yet she calls us immature little names without even bothering to get to know us first. Now wouldn't you say that SHE'S being ignorant to US? And just because you know how to spell some "big words" doesn't mean that you know Jack S***! Next Example:
I was having some quiet thought time the other day, and I suddenly had a Jeff Foxworthy moment. This is what came of it: You might be a Creed fan if:
You can't tell the difference between "your" and "you're" What I have to say:Well, I do know the deference between Your and you're because I paid attention in English class that day!
Your most clever retort is "your a fa**ot" What I have to say: well,I hate to admit it,but I have done this. But you still shouldn't judge people because of what a few stupid children have to say!
It's standard in your family to have intercourse with your cousins or closer relatives What I have to say: WOW! How did you know my mother and my father were actually brother and sister, and that I'm one of those people from Kentucky whose skin turns blue from their messed up DNA! how mature is this?
Your IQ is equal to that of a tree stump What I have to say: Duur, I'm a Creed fan,Duur.
Your college diploma says "University of Bubba" What I have to say: WOW! Once again, you've amazed me with your advanced knowledge of Creed fans!
You disguise your janitorial job by calling yourself a "sanitation engineer" What I have to say: Well, this just speaks for itself!
The most sophisticated words in your vocabulary are "f***, "s***," and "b****" What I have to say: Well, you say the most sophisticated words in our vocabulary are profanity, and yet you call us S***!
You can't complete a sentence in standard English What I have to say: Yes I can! And I'm sure other Creed fans can too!
You are not even semi-literate What I have to say: same as above!
You consider "Green Eggs and Ham" fine literature What I have to say: Well, I did when I was 5,and I'm sure you did too! But doesn't that defeat the purpose of what's said above? This is the exact material, only the profanity has been edited!

You're not jealous and you're not "gay". I'm not speaking about anyone here in particular when I say this but most of the Creed haters are just arrogant. They preach to us Creed fans like we're the cause of all problems.Like their opinions are to be respected by all and that because a person thinks differently from their one-sided arguments, that they are of a lesser species. It's just sickening to see it everywhere we Creed fans go. Here's something that all of you guys should consider. It's only funny until it's in your own backyard.I typed in Pearl Jam sucks just to see what came up and there was NOTHING! Nothing but a few smart remarks on some message boards. Nothing like the violent and somewhat immature material that's on websites like DIE CREED DIE. You need to experience this pain before you just start spittin' it out at us! There's a thing called karma, some of you should fear it! I'll have examples of the material on those websites later.

He believes in responsible journalism (don't drink and write). I just think there's a time and a place for it. For instance I'd appreciate journalists not twisting the truth when it comes to the impending war or the damage being done to the environment. But when the issue is as benign as this, does it really matter? I could honestly find the merrit in an entertaining yet scathing article about Pearl Jam, even though I love the band. And I'd personally be mad (not to mention frightened) if my man did anything Cosmo told him he should.

Yeah I love the women who feel their men should be 100% perfect and do everything Cosmo said he should do and be. Some people just need to wake up and smell the burnt toast

Ha ha ha! Thanks, Mookie..every time I see that phrase "major crankage" on this page, I cringe. Excellent points, by the way.

Man, Met7, you said it. It does come down to personal opinion. If you don't go see a movie or listen to a band because some critic told you they didn't like it, then you (ewe?) are a sheep. Personally, I'd rather read passionate critiques of film and music and I have to admitt, the article we're all discussing entertained me. Its much better entertainment than listening to some bozo responsibly analyze and debate both sides of the "Does Creed Suck?" issue. Music and film are art, and the only thing I know about art is this: I know what I hate, and I hate Creed.......and trust me, its not because a critic told me I should (nor did the article on this site about Creed sway me at all in the other direction.....major crankage? please).

Hell Im Married...I dont get to make my own decisions any more HAH !

man met7az you can't let go of the whole impartial thing can you?
Posted by DRAGONIA:
Another thing about that so called journalist,if you want to write something good, don't use slang words such as "sucks"
Posted by Met7Az:
awwww you know how it is... critics are paid to criticize ( I spell that right ? ) Its like some movie reviewers, they'll give it one star but I'll see it and think its great. Comes down to your own personal opinion. Kinda like Roe -vs- Wade

I will never surrender and by the way, DAMN YOU for coming back with a worthy retort! I agree with you and have commented on the whole "creed haters are amazingly brilliant," but seriously that guy is not a good journalist, he is not just saying that he hates creed, he is trying to sway an audience by using biased facts that are used improperly and sometimes just wrongly in order to prove that "Creed Sucks." he is also a complete incompetant, nothing partial about this loser. a lawn dart in the head is his only option.
Posted by L:
So, then it would follow that anyone who wrote a favorable article about Creed would also be a biased idiot. You don't have an argument, so why don't you give it up. Not everyone is stupid just because they don't like Creed.
Posted by non gay:
I am glad that you thought that the article was "cogent" there L. new words are great. There is a way to discuss an issue that skilled writers use and it is called a non-biased opinion. It can make the reader think about the facts and then reach a decision instead of being swayed by emotional content and the obviously one sided remarks of some amateur brick with the writing style of a dead marmot. Sorry L, but to agree with you on this is to admit that crap can be called gold just because you argee with the opinion.
Posted by DRAGONIA:
I see where youre coming from,L.But non gay's right. You must see both sides of an issue. And to use an adolescent quote from a Creed fan Is just cowardly.Use a quote from a mature fan and then Ill consider taking him seriously! And yes, this issue smells to me like dog shnit in a rotting carcass!
Posted by L: P.S. Rock On, you lame idiot. I'm going
to have you kicked off this site.

L: I fail to see how an article about a mediocre
rock band who made it big can be considered an "issue" with different sides.
Was the guy supposed to insert an adolescent quote from a Creed fan to
show the other side of the "issue?" I found the article very intelligent,
cogent, and entertaining.

Met7Az: Hey Rock On's back ! How was your butt
slammin vacation ?

Rock On: Ha Ha Ha....Oh jeez I gotta fart now.
Some of the stuff that comes out of your mouths just gives me gas. Keep
it up.

non gay: articles put solely on the internet have
one thing in common, and that is a general lack of effort to see both sides
of an issue. For the sake of professionalism, he can't even hide his bitter
hate to all the creed songs he has heard on the radio. (my friend Amy hated
creed until I had her listen to all the songs that are never played on
the radio) Articles like this one are a perfect example of some loser that
buys into whatever his alternative lifestyle friends and what is soon becoming
the new mainstream, tells him is right and wrong. he plays down creed's
own record label at the same time as he makes many mentions that they actually
don't have their own record label and that they are some kind of croporation
bent on world domination through crappy songs. He is trying very hard to
be funny and not worrying about research or the facts. Sad, Sad, Sad, especially
since he was funny maybe once, although perhaps only funny to the masses
because he makes many jokes that he has heard other creed haters use, unorigional
loser just like Rock On. L, could you email the site manager again and
tell him about our friend Rock On, let him know that if he has $10 I would
be more than willing to pop a cap in Rock on's soft bits as well as his
rock hard skull, over and over and over. The $10 would just be to pay for
the bullets I use. I hope you can get a lot of bullets for $10. Stupity
is painful, but only to the intelligent. He digs as deep as possible to
come up with arguments against creed that are so old that they are starting
to smell. He hooks everything that is wrong with the world together and
then blames Creed for it. Duuuhhh! "I am such a horrible writer that I
am forced to be a fake journalist on the internet and I swear and use the
word 'Sucks' about 14 times in what I call an 'article.'"
