Andrew W.K. is the best kind of artist
insofar as his music either demands your absolute respect or your incredulous
dislike. The man in dirty white’s debut album isn’t so much about the music
as the idea of the music, the idea of an endless pop thrash and non-stop
partying. W.K.’s personality screams for overexposure; however, most people,
when given the choice, would probably balk at having to see his perma-sweat
monster grin on TV and in the magazines every week. The rest of us see
him for what he is: a musical genius.
