The Ohio based band The Szuters are back with American Pop, a follow-up to their debut self titled CD.

American Pop contains all of the ingredients that the fans have come to expect from this hard rockin pop band. With this musical venture the band seemed to expanded their horizons, and the results are clear. This is a band to watch for big things to come.

American Pop produced by Ex-Mr. Big Paul Gilbert, is a power packed feast for the ears. Starting with the opening track, Life Goes On,  we get powerful harmonies (ala Van Halen) and a rockin Chorus.  From there  the disc then moves into a more punkish/alternative direction for the second track, Isabella.

She tells everybody, and you always hurt are great pop tracks which retain the spirit of the bands debut CD. While  rockers like Welcome to my  mind, and If this aint really love, will appeal more to the hard rock orientated fans.

The CD features two ballads In Greener fields, and Black Clouds- Blue sky. With the song Black Cloud, Blue Sky  the band mixed the sound  of cracks and hisses in with the music. The effect will make those who remember the days of records nostalgic. Greener fields is one of the best tracks of the CD, a very melodic love song, The slow tempo verses are sang with deep emotion, which then build into a powerful chorus.

This disc retains the feel of the bands first CD, it has a steady groove, and all the other things you would expect from the Szuters. Yet American pop has a musical Maturity not found on the debut CD..

The Szuters pack a powerful package of rich harmonies, strong chords, and melodies, and excellent vocals. Overall if you like Power pop, Rock or just plain good music you should put this CD at the top of your list.
