The Soulshake Express EP Review

If the purpose of an EP is to give you a taste of a band and leave you wanting more, then this EP succeeds on a grand scale.The EP kicks off with an intro that r-o-c-k-s. For a minute and nine seconds. Just as I was really starting to feel the groove, the song was over. The Soulshake Express has a raw sound that combines equal parts blue-eyed soul and garage rock. The best way I can think to describe it is: The Action meets The Blue Van At slightly more than fifteen minutes, this EP definitely is a tease to get the listener interested in a full-length album. I will say that this band packs more into fifteen minutes than other bands deliver in an entire album. I definitely want more of David Eriksson's raspy vocals on songs like "Dirty Woman" and "Whiskey (and the blues)."
