In an age where record executives, retailers, and editors insist on putting musicians into categories and pigeon holing artists Manchester, England's Rebelski defies definition and instead only begs for listening and enjoyment of his music. Rebelski is composer and keyboardist Martin Roman Rebelski. "Sticking on Keys" is the second album from the artist who can frequently be found on stage lending his keyboard skills to fellow British musician The Dove. For "Sticking on Keys" Rebelski recruited some of his fellow Manchester musicians to help. What sets "Sticking on Keys" apart from Rebelski's debut album "Thank You for Your Thought" is that this time around Rebelski has added lyrics to some of his pieces. Rebelski may defy definition by category but his music cover the gambit from Pat Metheny to Depeche Mode to The Pet Shop Boys to the soundtrack for musical sequences from the television show "Buck Rogers in the 25th Century" in sound. The music of "Sticking on Keys" at times get repetitive but is so easy to get wrapped up in what Rebelski is playing that those repetitions become forgotten. Maybe it's time to add to the seemingly endless list of musical genres and title it Space Age… but then again who cares; just enjoy the music for what its is and quit trying to label everything.
