Rock News: The KISS Army and Everclear want you!
What is the hottest movie of the summer? Star Wars? Austin Powers? If you are a rock fan it just might be Detroit Rock City. The movie is set in the 70s with some fans doing what ever it takes to make it to a KISS concert. For those of us old enough to remember the first wave of KISS mania in the 70's the movie promises to be a trip down memory lane.  For newer fans it will give them a glimpse of the what it was like to be a member of the KISS ARMY.

The First single from the movie soundtrack will not be a KISS tune. It will be a cover of Thin Lizzy's "The Boys are Back in Town" performed by Everclear.

Production for the music video for the single will get underway on June 29th in L.A.  Gene Simmons will appear in the video in his full grease paint glory, as well as some porn stars Julia Ann, Janine, Janteal, Chasey Lain, and Raylean.  The video will be directed by Art Alexakis of Everclear and Adam Riftin the films director.

Are you a fan in the L.A. area? If so the KISS Army wants you! The first 100 fans who make it to the video shoot location will have the opportunity to appear in the video as extras.

The catch? You have to be at least 18, show up in 70's clothing, and well long hair for the guys will help! Cool you say, where do I go? According the Metal Edge Online you are to show up by 7:00 am at the L.A. Convention Center, Kentia Hall Loading Dock, 1201 S. Figueroa St.

In related News, some San Diego area KISS fans have the chance to get a sneak peak at the new KISS film.  New Line Cinema will be hosting a advanced screening of the film  at 8 pm on Aug. 12th at the Gaslamp Theater in San Diego. No more details available at press time.
