Burning Brides - Leave No Ashes
By Adrian Alfonso

I first saw Burning Brides live on tour with A Perfect Circle, everyone loved them and so did I...after about three songs however, everyone was already bored looking around waiting for them to get off. I'll tell you what though, those first three songs kicked major ass and that's about it.

For the album, though this Philadelphia trio did their AC/DC homework and put   everything into the CD that rocks except for a power ballad (not a bad thing).

On the first song “Heart Full of Black”, kicks in with that good ol' hard rock drum solo, "You take me right up to the top of the world, then you push me over the side." Starts off good, gasp what's this! A GUITAR SOLO, that's right kiddies, you might have heard of your father talking about those, and this one kicks major ass. The next track Come Alive... just skip it, serious it's not really that good. Another generic hard rock song. Now for a treat, the aptly titled "Alternative Teenage Suicide" is the song that makes the drummer work for that check. DO NOT skip this song everything from the solo, to the  drums, to the vocals kick ass.  Next song, well, it's basically downhill from here until "Vampire Waltz", just listen to the verse on King of the Demimonde, and the generic "I want you gone!" chorus. Guitarist Dimitri Coats' (nice name) had a bad relationship with a girl, THAT IS SOOO DIFFERENT!

The last song of the album "Vampire Waltz" accompanied by organ and a trippy chorus AND it even has a sing along at the end, when I was listening to it I was tripped out as hell, it's like they got all these big muscle guys to come in and sing with them in the studio.

After listening to this CD and watching them live I'm still shocked at the fact that these are three people making all that rock music. I can definitely see this album being played in Irish pubs all over the nation. They are the last metal trio that I can remember that kicks this much ass.

My one complaint, If you guys want people to stop getting bored at your shows, please, move around a lot more and bring some props.
