Kristoffer Ragnstam - Sweet Bills Review

by Sherrill Fulghum

.
On his US debut album "Sweet Bills" Sweden's Kristoffer Ragnstam says that the album is all me. Ragnstam's music is nothing like that of fellow Swedish pop stars ABBA. This is not your mother's pop music. He uses varying time signatures, multiple sound and instruments, and voice overdubbing to create his sound.

Upon first hearing the music of Kristoffer Ragnstam it sounds discombobulated and doesn't seem to fit together, but upon further listening his music is a pop rock version of twentieth century classical music. While his lyrics don't always seem to make much sense, they are in English and understandable.

When Kristoffer Ragnstam formed his first band with some mates, they barely knew what to do with the instruments. Since those days Ragnstam has not only learned how to play but how to manipulate the music to form the sound he wants.
