Pink - I'm Not Dead Review

by Brodie

.
I have to admit it: I'm a Pink fan. Something about her music, from the start, had me hooked. I'm not even sure I can pinpoint what it is. Call it a sickness. I'm passing it off as having musical diversity. At least that's what I keep telling myself.

I'm Not Dead, Pink's follow-up to 2003's Try This, is probably her strongest effort to date. It is likely that her success lies in the fact that she laces her dance/r&b roots with plenty of rock, especially on tracks like "Who Knew", "Long Way To Happy", and the title track, "I'm Not Dead". Pink also pulls no punches, which sets her apart from many of her pop counterparts. She's not afraid to raise a middle finger to the genre she started out immersed in, but still carries enough pop sensibility to appeal to fans of her more 'dancy' material.

All in all, Pink's fourth full length effort is chalk-full of solid material, yes, even for a 'pop' album. She remains a stable and consistent force in an otherwise laughable genre.
