This is an entertaining bit of product that will keep the legions of fans at bay while waiting for the next Mindless Self Indulgence record. This is a CD single of sorts in that it's one 15 different remixes of the song, "Straight to Video". Doing surgery on the cut are a variety of names, most notably KMFDM, Front Line Assembly and Velvet Acid Christ. There are also some interesting takes on this cut. The Birthday Massacre changes gears with its rock-ier take on the song, an interesting approach after 9 club mixes. KHZ also has an excellent take on the song with a more laid-back approach that eases into things before getting more Manson-ish towards the end. It's not danceable but is really inspired. Bro Peezy lends a rap to the song and transforms it into something else.The thoughtful madmen from MSI also included an a cappella track as well as an instrumental track so that you crazy kids can mix your own version. The band also invites you to send them your mixes and the best ones will end up on the record company website.
