Jewel - Goodbye Alice in Wonderland Review

by Sherrill Fulghum

.
This modern day folk tale singer/songwriter chose the medium she knows best to tell the story of her life. The 13 original songs become the chapters of this musical autobiography with a beginning, middle, and an end. Jewel uses her music to weave the latest tales of her life. Though the words to these stories are sometimes hard to remember, the tunes will stick with you and run through your head. And "Goodbye Alice in Wonderland" grows on you. The first time through the CD the music is good; the next time through you begin to pay a little more attention, then you just enjoy it, and so on…

Jewel has a pleasant voice that does not get lost in the cookie cutter pop world of female voices who all sound alike after a while.
