The Cat Empire Review

by Gary Schwind

.
This disc features six songs and three videos. Unfortunately, when I tried to watch the videos I only got audio with The Cat Empire logo on my screen.

The CD kicks off with "Chariot," which will really make you want to move. This is a song that goes heavy on the horns as it blends salsa and ska that will make you want to skank (although you may want to forgo that if you're listening to this in your car).

The band incorporates even more influences into "Hello," which is a merengue/swing number with some turntables in the background.

Things slow down for "The Lost Song," a kind of jazzy mellow tune with some old-school ska horns.
