Richard Patrick (Army of Anyone)

.
Welcome to 2&2 where we ask rockers to take a short break from their busy lives to answer a few burning questions for us. We kick things off with Johnny Hardcore's recent Q&A with Richard Patrick about his new group Army of Anyone. Here's Johnny!

With the advent of the Super Group. Richard Patrick of Filter likes to call the new side project he is involved with a "Super Duper Group" Featuring the DeLeo brothers Robert & Dean from Stone Temple Pilots and David Lee Roth's drummer, Ray Luzier. Their self titled album has a release date of November 14, 2006 and we were given the opportunity to interview Richard on how things are progressing.

2&2: What is your favorite song on the album and why?

Richard: I love "A Better Place" because that's the first song we wrote together. Also, "It Doesn't Seem to Matter" is a great rock song. I love singing it!

2&2: Patrick, being clean and sober since September 28, 2002 you say has helped you with your lyrics. What is your feeling now when you pen songs as opposed to before that date?

Richard: When I was drinking, it made everything I wanted to accomplish more difficult. I wasn't as clear and present as I am now. Ultimately, when my brain was so soggy from the alcohol, I couldn't be as creative.

2&2: Do you have or - when will you be touring? The Army of One website has no tour info.

Richard: We will start touring within the next few months. As soon as we get everything firmed up, we'll post the dates on www.armyofanyone.com as well as on our MySpace site.

2&2: If all goes well with this first release, what are the bands long term plans? You mention 5 albums, Have you started on #2 already?

Richard: We intend to be around for a very long time. We're constantly writing music for ourselves as well as future releases.
