2&2 4 Tues: Edgewater

.
This week for 2&2 we speak with Matt Moseman, frontman of Edgewater about their brand new CD 'We're Not Robots'.

2&2: First off what inspired your name?

Matt: It was a street in a subdivision that I grew up in.

2&2: You guys went from Wind-Up with their mixed priorities to Rock Ridge which seems to be a much more artist friendly label. Can you tell us a little bit about the transition and how it's going so far?

Matt: We love Rock Ridge and all the support we have gotten. We also appreciate everything that Wind-Up did for us. It wasn't a bad transition, just a little uncomfortable trying to find where we fit.

2&2: What is the significance of the title of your new album?

Matt: We just want to write and have fun being a band. Not some cookie cutter commercial.

2&2: The songs sound much edgier than 'South of Sideways' and for lack of a better word, more organic. Like you had the freedom to record what you wanted and not what the suits were telling you to. Is that assumption wrong? And how much of a different approach did you take to recording this album then South of Sideways?

Matt: We recorded it in a closet with a laptop. We used a lot of weird sounds and samples and just had fun creating.

2&2: What's been your proudest moment as a band so far?

Matt: For me, Nokia Live In Dallas to a sold out crowd of 10,000 with my family watching from the side of stage.
