Creed – Greatest Hits
by Keelan Kirby

Creed is known for their eloquent and soulful lyrics accented by the hard rock melodies.  Just because the band broke up doesn't mean you cant enjoy there talented collection.  And Windup Records brought together a top-notch collection of some of the greatest works that Creed has put together.  Along with thirteen A-quality songs they give you a DVD with contains nine music videos and 3 live performances to some of Creeds most popular songs such as "With Arms Wide Open" and "Higher".

One of the most fascinating Creed songs, not to mention video, is "Bullets", a song in which Creed singer Scott Stapp is laughing at those who over the years have ridiculed him and the band.  He found it interesting that he obviously had enough power to get into someone's head and drive them crazy.  But some more traditional Creed songs such as "Don't Stop Dancing" and "What's this Life For," really hit it home talking about life.  "What's This Life For" is focused on young adults and tells us that everyone reaches a point in there life when they ask themselves what is the purpose.  And while Scott Stapp doesn't give us the answer to that question he does give us the message to hang in there as we are not the only ones that are faced with that question (as is highlighted by the video contained on the DVD).

Creed also takes their fair share of artistic liberties and talks about some pretty unconventional subjects, but they often find a way to tie it into something that is real.  "Higher" is a good example of this, in this song he mentions that he wants to live in his dreams because of how peaceful they are, I want to know what Scott has been dreaming about.  But at the end of the song he says that since we can't live in our dream worlds let's all make this world better.  This song has a close relationship with the song "With Arms Wide Open" in which he is welcoming his son into the world.

This is a must for any Creed fan or makes a great gift, and the accompanying DVD is a great bonus.  But if for no other reason I recommended this package to everyone even if just to hear Creed ask the age-old question, "What If?"  And the video that goes along with it speaks volumes!
