Mico-Calgary, Alberta, CANADA

Mico is five gentlemen from Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Fusing a mix of shoe-gazer type guitar play with melodic hardcore elements, the socially conscious band is often compared to a number of bands, including Swervedriver, Quicksand, Dag Nasty and Elliot. They recently signed to G7 Welcoming Committee Records, who houses Propaghandi and The Weakerthans, to release their next full length, which will be out April 2003.  The band plans to tour relentlessly all over the world upon its release. www.micoband.com

Much The Same-Chicago, IL

Much the Same is a punk rock band from the south side of Chicago. They bring forth a blend of old-school power and new-school technique that can be enjoyed by punk fans of every kind. Their catchy hooks, in-your-face vocals, aggressive attitude, natural excitement, and energetic stage presence makes for an experience that has been described as "balls out fun!" Much The Same has played with Thrice, Dogwood, Slick Shoes, and has made multiple appearances at Warped Tour and Cornerstone Festival.  They are now sign to AF records, started by punk rockers Anti-Flag.  Their debut LP, "Quitters Never Win" will be out in Spring 2003. www.muchthesame.com

The Cassettes-Washington D.C.

Hailing from the nation’s capital, this quartet is assembled from such notable underground acts as Frodus, Dead Meadow, and Weird War. Sunshine-filled songs of violet strewn hills of amplifiers, kaleidoscopic swirling guitars, and running rivulets of fuzz-drenched sound are from what is known as The Cassettes. A marriage of 70’s power-pop to the angular indie D.C. sound, The Cassettes are not so much a step back as they are a sideward glance through a distorted mirror of influences. “O’er The Mountains” will be out Spring 2003 on Lovely Alice, an Italian record label. www.thecassettesmusic.com

The Reaction-Portland, OR

With the relocation from Delaware to Oregon, The Reaction changed their name to The Stivs. Their music, however, did not. These guys play high-decibel, high-energy punk rock and roll that will please fans of Zeke, The Misfits, and The Ramones. Their catchy tunes, polished musicianship and attention to detail that come together or a totally solid unit. The Stivs recently released their self-titled cd under Acme Records, whom they are now signed to. This band will soon be touring relentlessly so don’t be a fool, get their record and go see them! www.thestivs.com

Diary-Bakersfield, CA

Hailing from Bakersfield, CA is the band, Diary. Together for two years, the band has made quite a name for themselves, playing with the likes of Rufio, Finch, and The Starting Line.  Their EP has sold 2,000 copies.  Currently, Diary is in practice studio working on new songs and has plans on touring full-time in the near future to show the world what they’re all about! www.diaryrock.com
