Sinopoli was founded in 1988 by brothers Joey and
Nicky Sinopoli. They recruited Bobby Abranowicz to
play Lead guitar, and Kevin Meyers to play drums.
The band played local shows in their home state of
New Jersey, gained a huge local audience, and
received major airplay on establish rock radio in New
England.
Sinopoli released two EP's Rock to the top and
Sinopoli II, which sold well. After waiting for the right
record deal, the Seattle Grunge scene came along,
and placed Rock bands like Sinopoli in the not
happening category as far as major record labels
were concerned. The band then broke up, and the
members went on to pursue other interest.
Joey pursued song writing, gaining credits on the
latest Baton Rouge Release. He has co-written music
with Legendary producer Jack Ponti.
Staying true to his roots and style Joey seems to be
succeeding in this the new era of rock reemergence
brought on by fans who want their rock n roll, and not
alternative music. In addition to the rock dominance
of the internet community.
The band reunited for its tenth anniversary in March
of 1998. All original members are back and the band
is playing shows up and down the Garden State. Also
the reunited band has released the independent CD
Sinopoli, featuring music spanning the past ten
years.
Sinopoli is living proof that Rock never dies, it may
disappear from the limelight, but true rock fans and
musicians keep the fire burning, waiting for their
triumphant return to the Forefront of What's Hip, and
What's hot.
