Biography
Bucket Truck is a six piece heavy-rock/alternative group consisting of the usual guitars, bass, vocals and drums with an added feature of African, Latin, and Eastern percussion instruments. The Bucket Truck sound and live show is highly energetic, aggressive and most of all, original.

Bucket Truck travelled to Halifax for the East Coast Music Awards in late January, 1998. The band was selected as one of four Newfoundland groups to showcase at the conference. “Without a doubt, their performance was the most inspired of the weekend,” said Randy Hutchings of The Herald. The band’s energy worked well for Bucket Truck - 15 interviews in two days; two concerts and a CD release made the band one of the most recognisable groups at the ECMAs.

Bucket Truck has been given the opportunity to share the stage with many great Canadian acts in the past year including The Monoxides, The Tea Party and Furnaceface to name a few.

In 1997 Bucket Truck made radio-headway by releasing a single on Newfoundland FM stations. DYNAMO tore-up the airwaves all summer - an impressive feat since the track had never been released in stores and only appearred on Bucket Truck’s demo. DYNAMO maintained a presense in the OZFM Top Ten at Ten for over three months (all summer), reaching as high as number four! on many occasions. While at the same time reaching number one on CHMR-FM (July 28, 1997). Bucket Truck’s debut CD entitled “Mr. Hero” was released for distribution in the maritimes at the East Coast Music Awards. The twelve song CD was recorded and produced in St. John’s and is a great representation of where the band is going. The CD is sponsored by NewTel Communications.

With media attention already so high for Bucket Truck, the band expects their CD to make a big splash! Already receiving mention in a series of publications and multiple television appearances on MuchEast (MuchMusic) and NTV.

VideoFact recently awarded Bucket Truck with a grant to help the band create their first video. The release date is tentatively set for early September. Ad Vantage Productions have been contracted to film the video based on concepts the band provided. With the release of the video their CD, “Mr. Hero” will be launched nationally - a big step for Bucket Truck.

In March 1997, Bucket Truck journeyed to Corner Brook Newfoundland for MuchMusic’s SnowJob ‘97. The band played in Corner Brook and made a lot of new friends and contacts.

In October (‘97), Bucket Truck was nominated for a Newfoundland and Labrador Music Industry Award for Best Alternative Group ‘97. An amazing feat once again for a band’s first year in exsistence!

1998 is turning out to be a year of hard work for Bucket Truck - recording, promoting, playing whenever possible, more merchandise, bigger stages at bigger shows, etc. etc. etc. These guys work hard, and it shows in every song at every show. Keep on Bucket Truck’n!!!
